It is rare for a company to be above par on all levels - Closet Factory certainly was for me. Debra's design for a small "reach-in" closet expanded my space - allowing me to store more, and keep my closet much neater and organized. Being the consummate consumer, besides reading all reviews, etc. I had three companies out to design my closet and submit a bid. I also visited the showrooms - to compare installation options and quality. Closet factory was by far the best design, the best quality, and provided much more value for the money. As I didn't realize I needed special permission from the home owners association - Linda, the owner, handled it all - having to make several calls, submit proof of insurance etc. to stay with the original installation date. Best of all, the installation is perfect - Bob the installer was on time, covered my floors so as to not do any damage, vacuumed, and thoroughly cleaned all the shelves of the new closet. I couldn't be more pleased with the company, the service, nor the end result. read more

Made a plan to discuss again Friday to finalize things. I get a voicemail back from the office person that didn't make sense. Called them back to find out what they meant when they said they couldn't do the project. The lady was not there and the person answering the phone was so rude. Our second time (first time during Covid but their lead time was too long so we did not hire them). This time, the designer came to our house, drew our closet designs on site so I was able to review her drawings and we were able to make tweaks together on the spot (much easier than going back and forth via email). The only con is the wait time (30+ days), although this was already shorter than their lead time during Covid. Their installers did an excellent job - professional and courteous. This is our second time that Closet Factory built organizing furniture for us. Both time, from planning to measuring to installing, the process was amazingly smooth. People who dealt with us the first time are gone, but the new people were just as good. Karen was a perfect listener for what we wanted to accomplish, Gretchen braved cold freezing weather to come to our house for measurements and actual architecting, and Trevor installed our unit in the second floor. The communication was always seamless, and both of us are already thinking about 3rd project. Closet Factory may not be the least expensive place, but the value from the quality of the service clearly shines, so it was money well spent at the end. read more

We contacted Closet Factory to design/install custom cabinets for our home office (we were referred by our Interior Designer). The cabinets turned out beautifully, however I would not recommend Closet Factory to friends, nor would I use them again. There were several areas of issue. The design to install processes took approximately six months, with more than half that time waiting for the cabinets to be made (thanks to Covid). We were informed less than one week prior to the install that we had TWO electrical outlets that needed to be moved. Um.... okay, so why were we not told about this in the four months leading up to the install? Luckily my husband and I have the knowledge/ability to do something like this, however we had to scramble to find time in our schedules to accomplish this the weekend before the install. Most people would have had to hire an electrician and that would have taken weeks or longer to do, delaying the project further. In addition, I spoke to our designer several times about the fact that we were removing our baseboards and didn't want them included in the install measurements, we didn't want our cabinets to have baseboard cut-outs. She even came out TWICE to remeasure and the baseboards had been removed, however when the cabinets were installed they were notched for the baseboards. You can't tell from the outside with the doors closed, but once you open the doors it looks terrible having the huge gap for the baseboards. Color matching our cabinets was also a problem as Closet Factory has limited amounts of paint options and none really matched our existing cabinets. We finally settled on a white option (Diva), but when we initially met, at our house, we were told pretty confidently that they could match our existing cabinets to carry the two tone look from our kitchen and living room into our office. They didn't have a brown finish even remotely close to our current cabinets. Overall, the process was incredibly frustrating and I would not choose to work with Closet Factory again. Our office space looks nice, but the process to get there was painful, and in general the value for the money we spent also doesn't feel justified (example, the cabinets to do not come with a backing, and we were told they would be the same wood product as our cabinets from Northwood. They are definitely not, they are MDF). Glad to have this project done and not have to deal with any more unexpected surprises/frustrations. read more

The staff person, Veronika P. wasted my time by not caring to work on the order. After the initial in-person consultation she stopped communicating with me. When weeks later I called her on the phone to ask her to update me on the státus of my order, she said she'd sent me the agreed-upon materials ( closet models) via email, which however I'd never received. In the same conversation she unintentionally revealed that she didn't even have my email address! She even had the the nerves to suggest that I text it to her instead of writing it down herself. In this same communication she promised to send the closet models right away, which, again, she failed to do. read more

Wow, not a fan. I came to them because I was looking for a very specific wall bed *and* a closet interior. When I first spoke to someone on the phone and explained my needs, she said that I should come visit the showroom. I did so, but there weren't any (usable) wall beds on display, and all my trip netted was an appointment at a later date with a designer, which could have been done over the phone. The designer who was assigned to me was combative with my builder, didn't take all the measurements needed, and unsure about how the wall bed would actually work. I came out to the showroom for another meeting, at which point it became clear that they didn't have any experience with the particular wall bed that they claimed to sell. When I asked a few questions about how particular elements worked, I got a lot of shrugs from the designer and the owner. We left it that they'd get some answers from the manufacturer for me. When the designer called the next day, I was told that they'd found the wall bed I was looking for on display elsewhere. And then I was told that I should probably just work with them. When I called the other place, they in no way carried the bed I was looking for. The entire experience was an unpleasant waste of time. read more

White Painted Cabinetry was my preference for the brightening of the downstairs office area. They hooked up lighting and came up with some unique design features I wouldn't have ever imagined that really made my new space special. The installers too were really detail oriented, friendly and cleaned up well after the installation. Fit, finish, as well as on time as promised all were A+ They are not the cheapest by any means. I got exactly what I was looking for in colors and trim. We added an accesory wall, work bench, shoe rack, recycle bin, and everthing was measured just right. I think this company does a great job at closets. If you are looking for a custom built cabinet, be careful. We had Closet Factory install a walk in closet, a TV/ wardrobe cabinet, and a buffet. The buffet was supposed to match our existing kitchen cabinets- pretty straightforward design. They couldn't get it right. 1st rendition, wrong height. 2nd rendition, wrong door detail, wrong color. 3rd rendition, wrong detail again and wrong color. Owner of business was willing to try a 4th rendition but we couldn't go through it again. After 2 months and 3 cabinets , we had it removed and got a refund. I give them an A for effort and and F for quality control. There seemed to be a real disconnect between the designer, cabinet shop, painter and installer. We ran out of patience with the whole thing. I was very pleased with the professionalism of the designer, the installers were great, and the owner got involved at the end and tried to get it right, but a little too late. read more

What a waste of time! Reached out to them and the 'designer' Shelli responded to schedule a time to come out. The day/time she was already in my town wasn't going to work for me and she seemed not interested in making a separate trip (I guess that should have been the first hint), so I offered to email her pictures & measurements for the room so she could put together an initial quote. I had told her what the outrageously overpriced bid was I got from another company (making it clear I thought it was ridiculous - literally $8,000 for a tiny non-walk-in closet, when I spent $1,500 on my last walk-in closet which I also told her), a picture of our old closet which was small (and that I said didn't even need to be that big) and also shared a link to my Pinterest page so she could see the ideas I was looking at, along with of course the fact that we only needed six drawers and that we didn't have that many clothes and barely any shoes (we live in the country and are not clothes horses by any stretch). Then of course she asked the question that I always think is ridiculous which is "what is your budget" - a clear sign that a company is not going to be forthright in their pricing. She claimed to understand everything and said she would get it to me by Friday. Friday rolls around and no word from her. Sunday night I finally get a bid...and even though I did all the work getting all of her measurements and giving her pictures and ideas of what I was looking for? She completely disregarded it and clearly paid no attention to the Pinterest photos that gave a very clear idea of the kind of simple design we wanted. Instead I received quotes between $8,000-10,000 (wtf!) and designs that showed her using the entire 18ft wall just for the clothes and then another wall and a half for more dressers, literally clogging the room with more than I ever asked for, to hold enough clothes to fit a small retail boutique. And these were for cheap white toxic melamine to boot. If that's how much they charge for closets she could have just told me in the very beginning that that's how much they charge and not ask me to do all of her work for her because she didn't want to take the time to come out to our home. But instead she wasted over a week and a half of my time for absolutely nothing and to show that she has zero listening skills. Seriously uncool. read more

We called Closet Factory and they sent Debra Dixon out. She not only came up with a terrific plan for the closets but had some ideas we had not thought of to maximize space. THEN they had it all made and installed in record time. Later when I found I needed an additional shelf for one of the closets she had it made and delivered it herself. The initial consultation was great and the designs were good. Pricing was too high. On the day of install the installer said the design drawn up by their own agent won't work in my closet. The installer left out what could not be done and I had to ask for reimbursement for that portion. Till date the agent never followed up and never bothered to check if we are satisfied with the product. The quality is good but feels much like the DIY closet you get at Home Depot. Very pricy.
