When you hire Craig from TrimLogic for a project, you're not hiring a contractor, but a master craftsman's. His work is incredible and stunning. I needed a custom breakfast nook built in our condo to accommodate the needs of our growing family. I shopped around a LOT and got a wide range of estimates, ideas and time frames, none of which suited our budget or needs. (Not to mention, very few contractors had examples of their work to look over.) Fortunately, I stumbled upon TrimLogic and was impressed with the pictures posted and his reviews. Craig replied to my inquiry immediately and was able to provide a reasonable estimate (especially considering the level of his work). I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and he was able to work with my design and improve it! He added the little details that really made this piece shine like matching the moulding, add little extras, installing soft shut hinges and appropriate finishes. He convinced me to stain the bench top to match my cabinets and leave the base and wainscotting white. What a brilliant idea! The bench visually flows into my kitchen cabinets without overwhelming the area with all white or all wood. He thought of all the things that I didn't even know I should be concerned about. Craig was a very respectful of my family and home during the installation process. The majority of the bench build and painting/staining occurred offsite. This meant less mess, noise and smell in my house. Craig arrived on time (or would text me if running late) and he always cleaned up every day! He was conscious to protect our walls, hardwood floor and even the outdoor area where he worked. He even worked around my toddler's nap schedule and kept the noise to a minimum during that time. I really appreciated his communication promptness; he always responded to me immediately. Also, he managed his time and budget extremely well. He gave us an installation date (and length of time) and did not run over nor did he underestimate his budget. Finally, he took pride in his work and his company and made sure the process and end product lived up to his standards. My only warning? Act fast ... he books up quickly!! The outcome of our cabinets and shelves was phenomenal. Craig brought his own ideas to the table for the project and was very diligent throughout the build. We will surely hire him again! As a note based on another Yelp comment I saw, with any type of service like Craig offers, especially during the pandemic, there are going to be some challenges with time and communication. We hired Craig in 2020 to construct a built-in office desk/storage unit. Can safely say that the final product exceeded our expectations. The amount of attention to detail that Craig uses is extremely high. He is very precise, deliberate, will not cut corners, and takes his time to get it right. His work is closer that of an artist or craftsman than conventional carpenter. He wanted to make the work suit our needs and suggested the addition of shelves and features we had not considered. He also fixed the previously damaged baseboards in this room to perfection. Craig's work is both high aesthetic end and functional and will increase your home value. I shopped around for crown molding prices / contractors and in the Chicago-land area it was hard to find the basics (insurance, reasonable price and trustworthy contractors). I found TrimLogics online, which I was nervous about but I'm glad I made the call. Craig listened to how I wanted the finish rooms (living room, kitchen & 2 bedrooms) to look like and worked backwards to give me options and was patient even though I changed it a few times. He did a great job! I'm still shocked at how beautiful it is. The seams are flawless. My windows/patio doors reach my ceiling and he bridged the distance and it looks great! Craig is a gem! He built our cabinets / book shelf around the fireplace in family room, window seat in breakfast nook and a wall of build-in table and bookshelves in my boy's room. Everything was well designed in harmony of my Georgian house and existing cabinetry work in the kitchen and bathrooms. The work quality was impeccable. He even took down and rebuilt portions of the trimming above the mantle when he was not happy with the depth it provided. A true master craftsman in deed. I can't ask for a better carpenter. He also cut and installed trims for our ceilings and hang a large piece of carved wood as our headboard. No work is small for him to overlook and he will always come up with creative solutions for them. On top of that, Craig is very friendly, helpful and respectful. He works very hard, cleans the work space everyday so we can have our space back. He communicates well and have great work ethic. I can't say enough of good things about him! read more

After my initial inquiry I quickly received an email follow up. Craig asked for more info, measurements, and pictures of my project and everything seemed great. It did take me a week to get him the requested info, but after that there was no communication. I followed up several days later to make sure he had received my email and the pictures, but again, I never heard back. It's now been about three weeks. I was looking for a finish carpenter and ran across Craig on Yelp and noticed all of the good reviews. I needed some built in shelves and a wall coat rack with bead board. Craig at TrimLogic was very professional and friendly! My boyfriend and I got a condo and only had one week of overlap to get things done before we moved in. We were actually able to schedule a consultation with him on the day we closed on the property. He came over and knew exactly what we wanted, which was traditional crown molding in our open concept living room, kitchen, dining room, and hallway. He was very conscientious of our concerns with price. We were able to save some money by painting the crown molding ourselves. I really appreciated having that option. He measured the areas to be crowned at the consultation. I really liked that they take the measurements, and then do almost all of the cutting for the molding at their shop, so it is ready to set-up when they arrive and it doesn't make your place a mess. The men came a couple days after our consultation. They were courteous and hard working. They worked the whole day and really did a fantastic molding job! We were very pleased with TrimLogic.
