They took a nightmare of a situation and went above and beyond to make it a dream. From the very beginning, Megan and Rachel took on the project with confidence, humor, and professionalism. While Megan and Rachel are wizards at design and listening to client's personal styles, it is important to note that their services go beyond simple aesthetics. They were incredibly involved with the physical design of the space, which included frequent communication with our construction company and subcontractors, ensuring that everything was accomplished according to the plan. This included but was not limited to: designing lighting plans; meticulously designing and measuring cabinetry, and then working with the cabinet maker and subs to ensure a correct fit; swooping in to fix address all the issues, from fixture placements to counter heights to wall lengths. Their attention to detail along the way was truly astounding and their knowledge of home workmanship is unmatched. There was never a problem they couldn't fix or an issue that they couldn't untangle. I know without a doubt that our project would not be as amazing as it is without them. Fox and Fern is an amazing team and I cannot wait until I have another project so I can work with them again. They are the absolute best and would highly recommend their services.

She has been extremely patient with my decision making - always finding options that I feel comfortable with. (It's scary when you are a first time buyer- and realize how much it really is to furnish a home). We started off having a bunch of pre calls- where she got the vibe of me and my girlfriend's taste. And let me tell you .... It's not an easy feat when my style is PNW/ midcentury modern and my gf is English country side/ northeast . But we are SOOOOOOO happy. She sent us a doc of exactly what we were looking for- and even did it in phases. Little by little .... Am I right ? My favorite part- she always helps schedule and makes the delivery process up so smooth, I never have to worry about it. She is so responsive and on it. Thank you so much Julia- for making this semi - stressful task .... Fun!

Cait's ability to take my inspiration and fold it into my home (and most importantly budget) was more than I could have asked for. She was also always so responsive via text, phone and email and even would proactively reach out to me to check in on things. During the day of staging, both of them were here for the whole day (I staged 70% of my house) to ensure that every room is styled nicely. Oh, all the lighting was set on timers to turn on and off at a certain time. I'd definitely use them again. If you are looking for a staging company, you should check them out. They were a new business I believe in the past couple years and have really grown due to great service. I have seen their inventory almost triple as they are very diligent in planning every home uniquely to give it the best potential to be sold. Unlike some stagers who just put the same furniture together every time to make it easier. Dawn and Diane go out of their way. After they set up the home fully I always feel like I'm in a magazine because it all looks so perfect. Keep it up ladies! Oh and I remember asking them if they still rearranged at home after starting the biz. I knew the answer would be of course, quite often and it was because it always feels like they have fun staging the homes:)

I found a decently priced aftermarket kit from another company that our appliance vendor recommended but it only came in the vented style and the customer wanted a flat face similar to the one from the manufacturer. I found trim kits USA through a Google search but was nervous about the quality of an unknown vendor. I called the phone number listed on the site and left a message. I received a call back less than ten minutes later (other times I called and left a message I received similarly quick responses) I will agree that Jody tries to push custom kits that are very expensive and it was difficult to get him to understand that I just wanted to make sure that the standard kit for the microwave would fit in the space we had. It is great that he can make you a unit that will line up perfectly with your drawer or door faces but our client was not willing to pay the added cost for that. I ordered the standard kit and received it in about a week although he does not guarantee that he will have yours in stock and quotes you at 4 weeks. The unit was packaged well and looked great out of the box. It was also 100% stainless steel where as the manufacturer unit was mostly plastic. Our carpenter said the install was simple and it looks great. I would absolutely recommend this company.

FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE…read more What an absolute honor it has been to work with Allison Smith Design again. A few months ago, we purchased a vacation home in Scottsdale, AZ. We knew exactly who we would trust to remodel and transform our dated 1980's home into a modern & inviting sanctuary with an artisan feel. Part of the creative process was sharing my inspiration boards with Allison which allowed her to create a space that reflects and embodies our personality and taste. The architectural revisions she made in the kitchen really opened up the space and provided the open concept we were looking for. Her ability to solve problems when issues arose was quick, effective and intuitive. We absolutely love all the materials, colors, textures and finishes that Allison chose. The combination of the neutral travertine floors against the rich grey cabinets is stunning. The stark white walls allow the dark beams in the ceiling to be the star player. Her attention to detail throughout the home from the paint colors, lighting, window treatments, plumbing fixtures down to the hardware, every detail was meticulously selected to achieve a cohesive, stimulating and inviting space. Allison reinvigorated our home with all new furniture. The combination of supple leathers, textured fabrics, rich woods and unique statement pieces that really give the home an artisan flair. It's not just inside that counts, she also brought life to our outdoor space by creating a serene oasis for us to escape and relax. Allison and her team are incredibly responsive, truly talented, friendly and dedicated to giving their clients not only a beautiful home but a wonderful experience while creating it. I highly recommend Allison Smith Design.

She and her team were able to coordinate with our builder and even came up with some changes to the plans that worked even better. Allsion has a great sense of style and color. She managed to turn our home into a cozy and elegant space that reflected the style I requested. She chose the furniture, accessories, appliances, lighting, rugs, knobs, bathroom accessories and other items that matched the theme and mood I wanted. She also added some personal touches, such as a framed print I loved and photos of my husband and me. I would highly recommend Allison to anyone looking for an interior designer. She was dismissive of our thoughts/preferences and responded defensively when we asked for other options throughout the entire process. I didn't want to break our contract, since we'd paid her design fee upfront. At the end of our project, she sent us a final invoice showing she had gone 15-20% over budget, without our approval. Then, when I requested receipts, she refused to provide them. This was an extremely disappointing and tumultuous experience. However, we assumed that Stephanie would provide us with an overview of the process with timelines and what to expect in order to work with our move-in goals. She never provided any sense of targets or timelines, which left us unsure how things worked, when we were supposed to reach out to her, and when we should expect to receive mock ups of designs/options. There was overall really poor communication and we tried to address this. Eventually, at some point, she decided that we were not a good fit as client and designer and even mentioned she had a feeling this would not work the moment she stepped into our home originally. In that case, we wish she would have told us that earlier instead of bringing us on somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster. We later got some very harsh and cold emails from Kami accusing us of sending bad checks, when in reality, our materials had gotten mixed up as we were moving, and would have been able to rectify things if they had communicated properly with us when we first sent over the payments. Honestly, just looking at the way she responds to comments on Yelp (in addition to her communication over email) shows how she lacks professionalism and basic empathy. Perhaps, we just had a bad experience, but I'm honestly not sure if this is a super friendly business for people of color, particularly with a desire to integrate some of their cultural elements into the design, or for people new to the interior design process.
