The person I dealt with when I came into the office was nice, but if you have any quality issues with the product (and we most certainly do!!) you can expect they will duck/dodge/weave and do whatever they can to leave you high and dry. They will not stand behind their product. The issue you have can not be exactly described in the warranty verbiage, but they'll find something else that they can try and put your issue under as a reason for exclusion. This is what happened to us, after spending thousands of dollars on flooring with them. If you need flooring - don't buy from these guys. Go somewhere else. read more

We have had a very positive experience at Area Floors. Lisa and everyone we worked with were so easy to work with and helped us find our new Pental Quartz countertops the perfect tile for our backsplash in our new kitchen. The selection is really good....almost too good. The hardest part was choosing. Lisa helped me to stay on budget, which I really appreciate, while still getting everything that we wanted. I went into Area Floors LO showroom on a Saturday morning. I had no idea what was what, in the world of tile. Luckily Kara was working that day and was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. She pulled sample boards, ordered samples, contacted companies to answer questions, and coordinated with our contractor when needed. I visited other tile stores, but never remotely experienced this kind of service. We are doing a whole bathroom remodel, with tiled floors, trim, and bath surround. Trying to choose and coordinate tiles is not easy. Even when I felt exhausted and a bit overwhelmed, Kara was always gracious and helpful. She even offered to stay late when we were up against a deadline. Amazing service! I knew I would order all of our tiles from Area Floors with the service I received and the confidence I had in them. I did not get a chance to work with Area Floors, but I can comment on their customer service level over the phone. When calling to get a reminder of pricing for some of their products, which I was told in store a few weeks prior, I was told they could email some details but I could not order this product until my contractor set up an account. That's completely understandable; my only goal had been to get a reminder of the pricing estimate they told me in person a few weeks earlier so that I could decide if it was worth it to ask him to go to the effort to set up an account. This seemed reasonable given I'd received the very information I wanted just a few weeks earlier. The person I spoke with told me should could email me an idea of pricing but I couldn't place an order until my contractor set up an account. Again, I understand that. 2 minutes later, however, she called to tell me she couldn't send that pricing without a contractor name, and rather than allowing me to say anything, such as my contractor's name, she HUNG UP on me. It was astonishing. The manager answered when I called back later, but while she said she was sorry, there was no assurance that that lack of customer service skills would be addressed or that this level of rudeness bothered them. I understand this store/location is not a retail store, but treating anyone that rudely is never okay, particularly when all I was trying to say in response was the information she wanted. read more

I have waited a long time to write this review because I wanted to give Area Floors the benefit of the doubt but tonight I've just decided I have to say something. We've had the floor for almost two years now and for over a year i've tried to give them a chance to back their customer and product but they have declined all the way up to the owner. No floor that you spent good money on should look like it's 20 years old after two years. We've followed all instructions and yet they decided to do nothing about the finish peeling off on the flooring. Every time we look at our floors we're filled with regret. What should have been a great experience has turned into a nightmare. Area Floors does not stand behind their product and definitely does not step up to the plate when it comes to dealing with the manufacturer and for this I give them 1 star and that's only because I can't go lower. UPDATE: I left this same review on their Facebook page and they deleted it. Obviously the owner knows something is up. Unbelievable! Selling 2nd rate products at a 1st rate price has got to stop! We were buying our first house. Getting real wood flooring was high on my list of priorities. I knew it should cost a lot. We were a little scared of the commitment. There are so many flooring businesses it can be overwhelming. Area Floors seemed less pushy than the other places. They were also so straight forward. Their selection wasn't huge, but we settled on a material that was almost exactly what I had envisioned in our home. It also was totally in our expected price range. Originally I had planned to save a lot of money by installing the flooring myself. We were running out of time to move into our house and we realistically didn't have the time anymore. They set up a contractor to install the flooring for us from a short list of companies they trusted. The contractor showed up on time, and were ready to hit it. They completed the job in two and a half days, just like they estimated. Area Floors set up a payment plan for us that seemed scary at first but was totally easy. I was in a serious bind and needed replacement carpet from a bleach mishap. Our house was going on the market in a week. I walked into Area floors and Lisa took care of me. Not only did she find an exact match to my existing carpet in about 5 minutes, but she had an installer at my house taking measurements within 30 minutes after I left. If you want to be quoted prices that are wrong, then told its three times more than we told you after you placed your order, come visit Area Floors! If you want to be treated badly and argued to by the owner/manager, come visit Area Floors. We will take care of none of your needs. Ask for Brandy! ASAP. My Contractor recommended that I go here to choose the tile for the bathroom and kitchen that we were remodeling and that he worked with them and had an account with them. The selection is ok, which I understand is a matter of preference and taste. Being tight on timelines I went in immediately and spent an hour and half working with their team on Foster that were very helpful. I found a tile from a vendor that they recommended for quality and value for what you get. I got the price, I notified our contractor and he placed the order. I get a call later that the price was published incorrectly from the vendor and even the vendor was unaware of it. Because of time on my end to go searching for another tile as well as for the project we insisted that they stick to the price that the vendor gave them as it was published and we were quoted on it and placed the order. I asked to speak to the owner/manager Brandy and she immediately got on the phone and was combative and defensive. She cut me off numerous times and made it clear that she was providing good "customer service" by not empathizing with the situation and trying to work with me on a compromise. I have been in this situation a few times before where a retailer has made an error on pricing and honors it on principal. You cant quote someone a price, let them place an order and then practically triple the price after you place an order. In the digital age of Amazon these stand alone brick and mortar shops only differentiator is their people and service. Clearly Brandy at Area Floors is not about that. If you want to be treated badly and argued to, come visit Area Floors. Tell your contractor to go with someone else if they treat the person thats ultimately paying for the floors like a third class citizen then they must not care about anyone. Customer service. The definition of "Customer Service" is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. After several failed attempts in my mission to have someone refinish or replace flooring in a historic bungalow, I decided to check out Area Floors. Heidi immediately greeted me and listened to the look I was hoping to achieve and the project budget. We were able to locate a hardwood that met all the criteria. (Other places only showed me laminate or engineered.) Heidi helped me select an installer from their list and I could not be happier. Their selection is good and generally can get the material in a week or less. However, be careful about the contractors on their referral list - do your homework. I used one that they specifically recommended, and it turned out badly. I've also used another from their list who is an absolute rock star. Most importantly, educate yourself on what materials will be needed. I was told that my job required some material that wasn't needed at all; then they wouldn't take it back. If you are an educated consumer of the materials they sell, you should be okay. read more

I'm a busy remodeler, and I've been using Area Floors to buy all our tile and flooring for over three years...and that's three years without any issues. I work with Michelle in Tigard (moving to Lake O), and Benie in Clackamas. I meet my clients in one of their showrooms, and we have fun picking out tile and flooring. (Our remodels tend to be more uniquely stylized, nothing formulaic.) All showroom staff at Area Floors are knowledge of the different flooring types (wood, LVT, sheet vinyl, and carpeting), and they always help guide us to our final choices based on budget, room, style and expected wear & tear. I can't count how many orders I've placed through Area Floors (a lot!), and they're always prompt and accurate at ordering our materials, and good at communicating due dates.
