He said bring it back. I took it to a shop in Sellwood. They did a great job. They told me if they couldn't make it better they would not charge me. Why would i bring it back to the same place if that was his best job? I have been going to antique stores since i was 10, over 60 years. I will never recommend that repair shop.

He was not rushed when he added clock oil to weird places and within 30 minutes the old music was tinkling away. Price? $30.00! I'm beyond delighted to find that not all people need to make a quick buck as they breathe life into family heirlooms. The clocks were gonging, tinkling, bonging away as the shop has a huge variety of clocks that went off at various times. I'm sure it drives him crazy but it is a beautiful sound, one worth taking friends into if they've never heard it before. I also found that several clocks that were cleaned and oiled, were not actually cleaned, and some parts that should not be oiled, indeed were oiled. Maybe this was the cause of a problem that needed repairs. While appearing to be qualified, it appears that honesty and integrity are questionable. Located in an industrial park, this tiny shop-slash-museum is a unique find for families to explore, and it's free admission! We stopped in and had a great little chat with the owner/curator. It took us a minute to figure out if he was joking with us or was serious about the time machine in the museum. He has a time machine in the museum. Seriously. To be clear, it's actually a telephone/time machine. Inside the machine, he informed us, is his phone number, in case they have trouble figuring out how to make the machine in the future...they can call him to get technical assistance. (No, seriously...) The museum has clocks dating from the 1700's all the way up to the present, with some of the most bizarre and artistic time tellers imaginable. If you travel with two silly girls, like me and my friend, it is an awesome spot for goofy selfies! The clock shop is exploding with cuckoo clocks, grandfather clocks, and every size in between. Lots of fun at the top of the hour, fir certain! To finish off the cool store, there's also a section of ultra-creepy collectible dolls that are sure to give you nightmares. Definitely worth a trip. Eugene isn't exactly a metropolis, so if you're looking for something to do, you've got to add this to your list.

I decided to take it elsewhere and went to pick it up. While he had it, he damaged it even further. Instead of just the movement and crystal, now the minute hand was bent and the face was scratched and had some green and gold stuff smeared on it (looked like paint???). It was an inexpensive watch, but it had sentimental value to me because it was given to me when I was a child by my mother. She has since passed away. Now it is so damaged that no one will repair it. A wonderful memento from my late mother is gone forever. I wish I had never taken it to Texley's.
