I had an appt yesterday for my dog Abbott! He wasn't eating Monday and needed a shot! He is going on 16 so I worry! Dr Price is wonderful! She is so caring! I can't bring him in and she came out and got him! She gave him a thorough exam and then asked to do bloodwork! Whatever Dr Price suggests I always listen' Bloodwork came back ok! He got his shot and then she spent more time with us trying to get Abbott to take a pill pocket! You see the caring in her eyes! Then to top it off she took him to the car and walked him before she put him in! She got a big hug from me! I know Abbotts time is getting shorter but know he is in the best hand! Shout out to the techs also who know Abbott! He is also deaf so we have alot to be thankful for after the visit! Heather, at Clinton Vet. performed an outstanding act of kindness and exceptional customer service on July 23rd, 2025. I have an ongoing health problem with an elderly cat. Heather at the front desk has assisted me with appointments, medication and common sense answers to my many questions regarding my pets insurance. I, an elderly woman have difficulity submitting them and without Heather I could not accomplished it. Upon leaving Heather saw me struggle with the cat carrier and brought my cat out to my car for me. Kudos to Heather a young woman who is professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Clinton Veterinary Hospital is poorly managed and poorly run. My dogs used to like going there, but now they don't and neither do I. My blood pressure races when they take my dog away from me for one thing or another (on a few occasions, while was in the exam room, I've heard her whine or whimper while being given vaccinations by a tech) I used to feel good about the care they gave my dog(s), but now I just feel like they're trying to get through my appointment as quickly as possible so they can get on to the next. A couple weeks ago I was trying to schedule a dental visit for my pet and the call ended up with Missy (at the front desk) literally yelling at me because I couldn't hear her and was trying to write down the correct information. If yelling at a client is tolerable and acceptable, then how is my dog being treated when away from me? During this call, it was like I was on the phone with someone who didn't know how to speak respectfully and with common courtesy. I hate writing negative reviews, but felt that this one was well warranted. I have since switched vets and am so happy with my decision to do so. I do have to add that Dr. Price somehow became aware of the call and emailed me saying that she would speak to Missy, about how she could have better handle the situation. read more

My experience was seamless from entering the office to bringing my cat back to the car. The reception folks were friendly and attentive. The vet tech was gentle with my nervous cat, and Dr. Ciok gave the cat a thorough going-over and administered a vaccine gently, explaining why a switch has been made from a 3-year to a 1-year shot. He answered my questions and we discussed how much food my overweight cat should be getting. I appreciated the competence and kindness of all individuals involved in my visit. read more

I'm new to the practice & saw Dr. Johnson this time. Of the 2 vets I've seen (the 1st vet was covering), I have to say they have the ability to explain things in a way that that lay person can understand. I've learned more about my 14 year-old dog than in 13 years at previous vet in Madison. Dr. Johnson was great! Everyone was very helpful. If I could give zero stars I would. I have been a loyal customer with multiple pets throughout the years. Over muzzling my dog and having him muzzled prior to an appointment I said I would find a vet who would feel comfortable muzzling my dog because they didn't. The vet techs response was extremely rude and went ahead and made decisions for me, making my pet inactive to his doctor, without me confirming or saying I wanted that. Knowing Dr. Price, i hope she sees this conversation because I would be embarrassed to have people working for my business who had such awful client relation skills and meanwhile are given the responsibility to speak to customers directly and Nevermind how they communicate. It's ridiculous and completely unprofessional. I honestly couldn't believe, but now she's lost another customer who I had 5 current and active pets. read more

I cannot say enough good things about every single staff member at Clinton Vet. I've been bringing my dogs here for four years and have never been disappointed with the care the doctors, techs, or receptionists have provided. Over the last few months, my elderly chihuahua mix's health declined and we had many emergency appointments with Dr. Santelli. She was always incredibly patient with me and explained all possible options. When it was my dog's time to leave us, Dr. Price handled the appointment with incredible compassion and tenderness. They treated my baby like one of their own and guided me through a difficult experience. Our new-to-us Covid puppy has seen Dr. Ciok and Dr. Santelli and we continue to be thrilled with the treatment we receive. As procedures, medicine, and techniques in practice change, so does this practice. They are always up-to-date and eager to share their knowledge. read more

I feel very fortunate to have been recommended to Dr. Price and her staff at Clinton Vet almost four years ago. Dr. Price took incredible care of my elderly cat and Boxer, helping me to make the best and most reasonable choices in their care. I will always appreciate the compassion she showed after receiving the news from the emergency vet (a year and a half apart) when they had to be put to sleep. The vet techs are extremely unprofessional in and out of the work establishment (when wearing identifiable uniform in public) . On top of this, I brought my pet in because they were ill, they at first did bare minimum and turned me away. I had to bring my animal back that same day and tell them-no there is something wrong, after an X-ray I was told actually needed emergency surgery. I highly recommend using another clinic. read more

After living south of the Mason-Dixon Line and various parts of the Connecticut shoreline, I have had multiple pets to care for and have seen many veterinarians. Of them all, CVH has emerged many leaps above all others. All of the staff are knowledgeable, kind and while always being professional made our pets well-being the precedent. We had a very sick kitten who was on meds from eight weeks through six months. Doctor Lauren Price picked up her care when we moved from South Carolina back to Connecticut when Indi was 12 weeks. Indi's immune system was badly damaged but Dr. Price did not give up and tried every medication possible and made sure to communicate to us "it's not her time. I would tell you if it was." When it was clear Indi was not going to pull through and have a healthy life Dr. Price said "I believe now is her time". Her dedication to our pet was tremendous. Lastly, one thing struck me when Indi was crossing over. As owners losing out baby we were too choked up to speak, but when Indi took her last breath Dr. Price said the words we couldn't - "You're going to a better place, no more pain" and the like. I have never seen that depth of true caring in a veterinarian. In summary, Clinton Vet and its staff, from the reception to the techs to the veterinarians go above and beyond - your pet will thank you for letting CVH provide their health care. I have never gone to the trouble of writing a negative review but clients should know this. Before I moved to this town I went to the trouble of getting a referral from an acquaintance for the best veterinary clinic and this was it I was told. During this time of Covid treatment of any sort is difficult but they had an excellent system and got it done. The technician was great, the doctor was great but The office staff was vicious and nasty. They couldn't seem to explain the billing process and became more and more defensive when I ask questions. So this is what I think: there are many practices with good doctors but the office staff makes or breaks the practice. In this case it broke it. read more

I do not recommend the Clinton Vet Clinic to anyone. They were our vet for over 7 years and are ok as long as you make an appointment and can wait 1 1/2 weeks. Our dog took a turn for the worse and needed to be put down as she had no control of her back legs and was not eating. I called the clinic and was told they were too busy and suggested I find another vet. The best they could do was an appointment over a week away. Our Nellie passed away the next day and I sent an e-mail informing them of her passing. The following Monday they called to see how Nellie was doing. After sharing my story with other people, I have discovered my experience is common with this vet. In the last two weeks 3 of my friends have been told to go elsewhere, by other pet owners, who were also told Clinton Veterinary Hospital were too busy to see their pets. One owner's dog was in distress and needed to be put down. The other two were very sick dogs. They were all told to go elsewhere as they were too busy. Both the sick dogs recovered under the services of other vets that cared and were not too busy to see new clients. The only thing the Clinton Veterinary Hospital cares about is making money off of those with an appointment. With hospital in the name you would expect they would take emergency cases, especially from current clients, but you would be wrong. read more

These people are the best. The best. When our elderly cat suddenly became very ill we called and were given an immediate an appointment that morning. This was the first time that we needed veterinary services since moving to this area, so we asked for some recommendations from our neighbors and scanned through Yelp and decided that this office sounded like the best choice. The staff were friendly and very sympathetic. They gave us the option to apply every possible method to keep him going, but that would have entailed a lot of medical care, which would have caused him horrible stress....with no guarantee of success. Things were bad. As much as we didn't want to lose him, we couldn't put him through all of that. It would have been for us, not him. We had to do what was best for our Rollins Marley. We had to let him go. Dr. Price and her staff were amazing. They made the most difficult of moments as comfortable and gentle as possible. They helped make his final moments peaceful. He went quickly. He was ready. We were not. The other amazing thing about this veterinary clinic is their pricing. We don't have much, but we would absolutely spend everything we have on our animals. The bill we received was much less than we feared. It included cremation and the place that does that (Hartsdale Pet Crematory) gave us his ashes in a beautiful wooden box with a picture insert on one side, as well as a beautiful sympathy card and certificate. Very thorough and professional, as well as sympathetic. The veterinary office also mailed us a sympathy card with a beautiful handwritten message and a cat shaped piece of paper with widower seeds embedded in it, that we will be planting in Spring. Most people who live with animals have, at some point, come across at least one veterinary office that makes it clear that their interests lie much more with your money than your animal. These people were the exact opposite. I can't say enough good things about them. They are wonderful and we wouldn't take our cats anywhere else. They get an A+ across the board. I am recommending them to everyone I know in this area. read more

We have two older cats and they don't like going to the vet. Ever! Dr. Price was awesome with us and Little Penny. We've never seen him respond to anyone this way. She spent a lot of time with him and with us, we understood exactly where we stood and the costs were very reasonable. We travel from Branford to go here because the Vets are great and the staff does an amazing job. The meds and food Dr. price recommended have had a positive impact on our cats health. It looks to me like almost all the reviews are equally positive and I'm glad because they all work very hard and care a lot. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else. read more

Terrible!!! We were first timers to this vet and from the start it was a disaster. My husband called to make an appt for our dogs first visit. He was given a date and time along w a price. He went...visit was ok...went to check out and the price went up $70.00!! He explained to the woman that he had just had surgery and was out of work and wanted to make sure he could afford the visit. He was told it was going to be $25.00. Now because they looked in her ears and weighed her they called it a complete exam and charged an additional $70.00 that we didn't have due to my hubby being out of work. They kept saying it was because of the new girl at the front desk but yet the customer has to pay for being misled. My hubby went back for a heart worm pill for her this month so there wasn't a lapse with her heart worm protection and they said she was overdue for a physical. He asked if she needed an exam every month and she replied she was overdue even tho she received one at the end of December. Then he was told she needed a 40+ test to make sure she doesn't have heart worm otherwise the heart worm pill would kill her but yet they gave him the heart worm pill anyways. They also gave him a heart worm pill for January and never said anything about the 40+ test. When he confronted them on why he was not informed of this before he was told because he was out of work they were trying to save him money. He was also told they gave her a free fecal exam to help him out. That was impossible because he never gave them a sample. We do not want to save money at the risk of our puppies health. Not trying to take anything away from the doctor he was very friendly and I'm sure he didn't know the circumstances before hand. The front desk on the other hand needs much attention. Only because of them we have started looking for another vet. read more

If I could give Clinton Vets a 20-star rating, I would! We started going there in 1972 with the first of our beloved collies and for all their subsequent years received the best of medical care and empathy from this always professional, skilled and caring group. Ken Moore treated my last collie girl with acupuncture and made the last few months of her 13 years so much more comfortable. My sweet rescue Amstaff girl is a worrier but her anxiety is never an issue with Dr. Moore or Dr. Danetz. I will be leaving CT shortly for the warmer climes of Atlanta and can sincerely say that leaving this dedicated group behind will be my greatest regret. P.S. As for the 1-star review, someone had a bee up her mmm. That was so far off the mark with this group I'm amazed it got published. read more
