This place is such a cute little bar in Clifton. You are able to get a drink fairly quickly. However, there is a girl name jasmine who sits at the bar controlling who comes in. She was extremely rude to me and my friends and really everyone I noticed except the bartender and he did nothing when witnessing this behavior. It didn't take me long to realize she didn't even work there. We will not be returning because she made the environment so hostile. I hope the owners know what's going on. That should not be allowed or they will keep losing business. read more

Wow. Clifton Heights Tavern how cool are you? This joint has always been smack dab in the middle of everything so I chose to avoid it. I like my dives dark, dingy, and off the beaten path - however we stumbled upon this place after having some Thai food next door and were shocked to see how humble it was! The bartenders were super down to earth. The night started off slow and then the crowd got younger and the jukebox got weirder. We loved playing darts here as they have a four board set up, nice darts, and yay ledges for drinks! We also played a few rounds of pool. Super fun if you like bar games and a down to earth atmosphere. We had a really fun low key night here and would totally come back. (Don't ask me what it's like peak school season - we came here on thanksgiving eve.) read more

Great for a college bar/dive. Extremely cheap beer and fun atmosphere. We came for trivia and will most definitely be back. If trivia isn't your thing, there is a pool table, a huge area for darts, and tons of TVs. Wish they had more chips or popcorn, but hey, that's more of a suggestion rather than a knock. read more

Pretty much the only thing CTH going for it is the cheap drinks and you can easily get the pool table or darts unlike most other bars in Clifton. Unfortunately, the rest is disappointing. Came in for happy hour ($1.50 wells + other specials) around 6 pm. There were like 5 people in the bar which isn't a good sign. There was no bartender to be seen. Turns out he was outside, watched us walk in, and then waited another 15 mins to finally come in and serve us. Once inside, he ignored us for a prolonged period of time and refilled his regulars. Not a great place! Employees are rude and the drinks aren't great. Vibe is off too. There are much better places around Clifton.

My buddy had a valid ID from Hawaii and was denied because the door man "couldn't scan it" even though it was valid. He tried to throw him put physically even though the manger was able to scan it to verify it. We were denied entry for the night. Ruined our night. Will not be revisiting. read more

I usually go to Mac's but it was packed with the typical loud, college crowd last night and it did not seem appealing, so I went down to the Clifton Heights Tavern. That was my first time here and I thought the service was great- Kirby, Joe and Rich were awesome! It wasn't your usual college bar, definitely more like a locals spot which is fantastic because that's reminiscent of how it was when it was Baba Budans. Definitely will be making this my new "go to" when I'm in town. read more

I love the specials that they have for each day of the week and for the month. I also love the fact that they have WI-FI and TV where you can catch the news and the game and a random Simpsons episode. I recommend Tuesdays and Saturdays for the $5 liquor pitchers. It's worth your money. If you are into pool it's free during happy hour. And you can shoot darts. I personally recommend the $5 dollar pitchers you are getting your money's worth. They are also currently working on up coming changes so please keep your eyes peeled. The bartenders know your name and it feels like Cheers. Except we don't have Norman. This place was fun! It had a lot to do; the usual bar games such as darts and pool with a music selection on the touch tunes. However the reason I'm giving it 3 stars was because the bartender was extremely rude. I was hosting a bar crawl and brought about 60 people to the bar. We tried to call and warn them earlier in the week but no one answered when I called. He was about to make a ton of tips and every time someone asked him for a drink or asked his opinion on what to order, he was snarky and rude back. Great place to drink alone. Not too many loud annoying people and it's right by my house! The reason why I'm not giving it a fifth star is because I was here on a particular Sunday back in January and it just so happened to be the NFL championship games on tv. This place is awful. I went there this past Sunday around 4pm to grab a couple mixed drinks with my girlfriend. The bartender took a while to get to us and by the time she did i noticed she was CLEARLY drunk. The bartender was not only talking to her friends the whole time, i heard her talking about how " black lives don't matter ". I couldn't believe it. Needless to say i left shortly after and didn't tip very well. I used to like this place when it was baba budans what the hell happened ? Went into Clifton heights tavern on a brisk Friday afternoon and was taken aback by the elegance of the male bartender. His beard looked to be made of soft wool, and he let me graze it with my fingertips upon my request. I ordered a whiskey coke. It was happy hour, and only cost me $2. His pour was mighty and just, liked the the strong hand of my father. He asked me what I would like the tv stationed to, and we entered into a long and rewarding conversation about the episode of Cake Boss we were watching. I finished my whiskey coke and was at a loss of what to order next. I told him this and he met my eyes. "Do you trust me?" He asked me. "To make you something you might like?" Trust him... I thought...I would trust him with my life. How could I know when I walked into Clifton Height Tavern that slightly chilled afternoon that I soon would discover what beauties life could hold , what life still had left to offer to an old soul such as myself when he set that Jäger Bomb before me. 5 stars.
