It's truly the bomb! For my entree, I had the Al Pastor Fish Taco and the Blackened Shrimp Taco. Both were scrumptious, especially the shrimp one. My husband gave me some of his Caesar Salad, which was fresh and quite good. My sister-in-law shared some of her Napa Chicken Sandwich with me; it was delightful. Our daughter had the Goat Cheese Citrus Salad with added chicken and no pecans. She enjoyed it but said the amount of chicken she got wasn't worth the additional charge. She should have, because it was her mistake, but she did not. I then asked if perhaps the promo isn't valid for beer, and she said that might be the case. So, I decided to order a $5 carne asada taco. Carne asada taco- Tough, old, not hot. The carne asada taco was a terrible excuse for a street taco. Not even worth half the $5 price tag. No bueno. Upon redeeming the promo via Toast Local app for my taco, I was again met with several denials. Porque? What can I redeem the promo on? The employee again explained she was new, and unaccustomed to the birthday redemption. She then took pics of my Toast Local account number & QR code. Paying the $5 plus tax, I was ready to be on my way. Second year, I'm out. Again, I had issues redeeming my birthday month promo, and I've had my fill of Alas Toxicas. I should've been comped for the pint of Blue Moon, seeing how it was no fault of my own the employee didn't know how to input things. With that, and a subpar facsimile of a carne asada taco, I have no plans on returning.

In a word: Scary! - nondescript - not so fun - after being there for about an hour my ex coworkers and I were about to leave when out of nowhere a few bro-esque metal mulisha kinda guys run to the door...we follow and it was like a scene out of the Thriller video, minus the zombies...mobs of people came out of the darkness (there were literally 10 people in the bar, where the hell did everyone else come from?!) A fight was about to start, but one of the contenders called a time out of sorts, so that he could grab the tire iron from his truck. Seriously. Thankfully, we left before witnessing the madness. That's when I noticed she's covered in tattoos; face, neck, back, arms. We assure her we are minding our business and no one wants confrontation. She proceeds to tell us she's calling her brother to show us what's up. That was our sign to leave. We closed our tab after only 1 round, cleared the pool table and walked tf out. Apparently this is a normal occurrence because the bartenders didn't even intervene and the other patrons were unbothered. NEVER AGAIN! This woman throwing gang signs and threatening us must have worked there or she's a local because as we walked out, one of the workers was talking to her, saying "you can't be talking to patrons like that." Maybe this place was fun and poppin back in the day, but it definitely is NOT the fun 4 star dive bar you see here on Yelp. We were unsuspecting victims of Rush and live to tell the tale.
