This was my first disc golf experience so I might have to come back and re-review after I'm a seasoned pro but I loved the course. This course (like many I believe) is interwoven into a larger park. Interesting throws, also known as bad throws, usually require the golfer to scream "Fore!" at a bicyclist or runner. There are even signs throughout that say "Watch out for flying discs". There are beautiful trees throughout with all sorts of great wildlife around. There is also water hazards on a least half the holes. The trees paired with the water definitely make the course challenging but manageable. AND, if your disc takes a plunge there are people who are crazy enough to run past the "No Swimming" and "Beware of Gators" signs to retrieve your disk for a price. The course itself seems to be very well-maintained the park was mostly clean of litter. The other, umm, golfers? seemed to be friendly as well. My only gripe- if I weren't with seasoned Cliff disc golfers I'm not sure I would have found all the holes. This might not even be there fault. I had never even held a driver disc before we went out there but I didn't think the holes were marked very clearly. Overall, it's a great way to spend a nice day outside in a beautiful park. Even if you don't play disc golf, go ride/run the trails. It's a vast, gorgeous park.

I've had returned discs that were then 'lost' in the store before, and have even found my discs in the used rack after never receiving any notification they ever had my disc to begin with, and have to then pay to get my disc back. Stay away, pure line and saltwater crew disc golf are great.

The park itself is very clean and nicely laid out with a cool splash pad for children to play in as well as a nice little park with stuff to climb and slide down and around on. I like that the park had some really clean bathrooms and the stalls didn't have any gaps when I closed the door. Being able to walk around this park and see some beautiful views of the water was something that was very cool because it is right off the water! No matter where I was walking there was something to see and enjoy. There was also a ton of seating around the park so I didn't have to sit on the floor or sit in the way of anyone. I also love that there are both stairs and ramps so that everyone is able to enjoy this park!

Also, during this event they had the bathrooms of the music venue open, which was really nice. I liked being able to walk up the hill between the music venue ans the library to see what it would be like to be sitting on the lawn for a concert and to also see the seating area for concerts. At the top of the hill, near where some construction is now taking place, are the murals. I love murals! They bring joy to the park. Parking isn't great. I parked far away on the street for free. The lot I parked next to is not free during concerts but was also free duringbthis daytime festival. I definitely will attend more events here.

Alligator look out and watching is a must in the low portion and the bridge. Do not approach them! There's also a disc golf course on the western side of the park with ample parking and easy access for ADA folks, like me! I do use this park to start my bike rides on the Pinellas Trail and that's another reason to just go out and enjoy it. It's right next to the Pinellas Trail and good to mention the "Rails to Trails Conservancy" here! So glad to be a small part! There's a huge playground for children of all ages and a place to eat a nice picnic lunch underneath a nice open shelter. It's well patrolled by the friendly park ranger team and they are always out cleaning and repairing the park. My SIL has lived in the area for years, and knowing how much I love exploring nature near and far, she recommended a visit to this gem of a park only 10-15 minutes from her home. PERFECT choice!! We didn't have a ton of time, but squeezed in a FINE early morning walk around the lake, and I confess I slowed her down taking TONS of pictures (as usual...) because even though it's far from "wilderness," it's a great spot to see lots of nature and wildlife (no alligators this visit!!) and get away from the hustle and bustle normally part of my visit down to the Clearwater area. So many beautiful birds!! There's a well-marked trail around the lake, passing by picnic areas, playgrounds, disc golf courses, and more. Wish I had more time to explore, but at least I know where to go to "decompress" next time I'm down in this area. Definitely worth a visit... Enjoy!!

A nice biking/jogging trail through the park that leads to a continued paved trail beside a tarpon Canal for a good stretch. Most exercise consisted of short walks or swimming in pool…read more Since I retired from the military and my civilian job, I gained about 50 pounds and several inches on waste. I tried several diets with mixed results. Then I was talking with my eldest daughter about my Bucket List, at 77. I casually mention I always wanted to visit Machu Picchu. She looked up some information and talked me into a tour 4/28/25. Now to prepare about 2 months ago I went on the Rice Diet, especially for people with kidney issues. Then in March I started walking in this park. At first I only walked to the end of the park and back, about 5,000 steps from my home. Then I went to adjacent Shefield Park, then up the path along Tarpon Canal almost up to Curlew Road. At the end about 7,000 steps. I am now down almost 30 pounds and 4 inches in waist! The last week or so I have been walking with my 20 pound backpack I'm taking to Peru. Harbor Palms is a wonderful park. Smooth paved paths. Often a cool breeze early in the morning. It has been trimmed and mowed quite a bit for Disc Golf course, but their are plenty of trees and bushes for the wildlife. I regularly see squirrels scampering about, bunnies in the early hours, park is open dawn to dusk. Sparrows, blue jays, robins, ducks, ibis and once a scarlet ibis. Possibly even a mockingbird. My eyes not sharp enough to determine. There is a floating dock on Tarpon Canal for fishing and I have stopped by a couple times to find a gentleman and young boy trying their luck. There is a wonderful old tree that was blown down by a storm and has remained rooted and is blossoming. I call this The Spooky Old Tree in memory of the Bernstein Bears story I read to my kids and grandkids. Another group of smaller trees have intwined their roots close to each other. I call these The Three Sisters. I have met many friendly people in the mornings, taking strolls or walking their dogs. We usually say "Hi!" to each other in passing. It's a magical place where your imagination can roam. And when I return from Peru, I will continue my morning strolls both for the pleasure of communing with my Father and nature. Check it out!
