So I was going to try them again thinking because of their closure during covid they would afford me with at least one more chance to a different pair of lenses since I paid $185 for a year of service Well to my surprise they are not willing to work with me. They will charge another $185 ( or more) to do contact lenses trial and exam. I was told by another eye care company that I wasn't a fit for contacts, but this doc at Battleground assured me I was. I tried 2 different pairs when I first got started and they didn't work. I kinda gave up but also had other concerns( back surgery) that were more pressing. I think the doctor made a bad choice saying I was able to use contact lenses and now I dont know what to think since they never gave me the full year that I paid for. Very disappointed.

Technician I ended up with was not very good 1. No intro of who she was 2. Had trouble operating the eye scan machine and had to get assistance. 3. Rushed through my eye testing and seemed upset / huffy about the whole process. 4. Seemed like she did not want to be there or had somewhere urgent to be other then work 5. End of exam she mumbled something about an extra service for $20.00 but could not decipher her as she was walking out the door 5. Don't know who she was( not the oldest and not the youngest of the techs there. 5. Doc was ok. 6. Will use a different eye care option I the future and same for my family. 7. I'll split this review with 3 stars. We've used this doc and center for years, but unfortunately…read moreit's time to change. Pros: the office is clean, staff is nice and prompt, and we're usually in and out in a timely manner. Since Covid, they ship contacts straight to your house since of office pick ups. Cons: a while back I had to cancel my December appt because I had Covid, and they weren't able to schedule me again until March. After a few dialogues they did provide sample packs of contacts until that time. Fast forward to this year: I had a baby and missed my yearly deadline (somehow they send reminders to my husband and not to me). But anywho-another 3 month wait for an eye exam and refusal to provide any sample contacts. We now have appointments made within 2 weeks at another facility. Fortunately for them they're doing great business, however it's unfortunate for their existing and long term patients.

I don't know if there is a quality difference, but Baker's service can make up for the difference. Great local practice. Highly recommend supporting local businesses.

Myself and family, father, brother and his family, and quite a few friends are now looking for a new eye doctor!! Be very wary of setting foot into Baker Eye Disservice. Rude desk workers and no sense of helping someone. If they treat someone with 30 years of loyalty with such a dismissive attitude - I'd truly hate to see how they treat others!!

I had good impression of this office, but not anymore! We saw Dr. Freshwater and heard good things…read moreabout him, but that was not the case. The exam was not thorough at all. If you say "thorough" if an opinion, here are some facts: 1. The doctor grabbed the wrong contact lenses samples for BOTH eyes! 2. At the checkout, the printed prescription for contact lenses was something else for one of the eyes. 3. When I compared with last year's glasses prescription, Dr. Freshwater's prescription does note anything for the astigmatism for one of the eyes, no axis either. So, talking about "thorough." Does he realize we will pay hundreds of dollars for contact/glasses based on his professional judgement and be stuck with these equipment? If a doctor has lost the heart for patients or feels like he can do routine stuff with his eyes closed, he should not practice anymore. A patient doesn't know technical terms, but a human can feel if a doctor cares or not. He did not even bother to "pretend" to care. His nonchalant demeanor and mistakes all over the places revealed his absent-mindedness. The equipment in the office is also dated, traditional pieces, not advanced new equipment with better technology either. It was a harmless exam process, but we walked away wondering what happened?

HOWEVER on the…read moreglasses side of the office, the 2 that work there male and female are BOTH arrogant and do NOT listen to the customer WHO is buying the glasses. The FEMALE when I asked her a few questions threw in my face I have been here 25 years I KNOW. The male when we were having to order the glasses for a SECOND time had made up his mind what I needed when he NEVER meet me before and my daughter was trying to explain what we do for a living. It was like she was NOT there to him. The first time we order the glasses they came within a week but I was NEVER asked by miss 25 years to test them out to see if I could see or not and I had several other appointments to go to, After a couple of days TRYING them that is when I saw that a WALMART $20 pair was 100 times better than these, I called and left a message and after 2 hrs no one called me, So I called back and the lady in the glass section answered that is when she pulled the 25 yrs crap.I was neverl explained to that LINE bifocal lense would not go to the edge, I have had them BEFORE and they DID. But here ARROGANCE was really shining through. I complained and all I got was to reschedule the appointment. I asked to speak to the office manager right after the older eye doctor checked the lens prescription was a little off. When we told the office manager she told us they have had to talk to them before, evidently they have NO FEAR on how they treat the patient. When we talked to the male with the NEW lens order he did NOT really want to listen to us. This was right before Christmas, When we have NOT gotten the blasses well into the NEW YEAR I called and i was told another 7 to 14 days so what took about a week before was now going to take a MONTH. No explanation NO apology. So I had to go another month without seeing!!! I called the office manager again to find out was up and THEN I got the truth, the people that made them SCREWED them up for a second time and had to remake them AGAIN. The folks in the glass side new this and NO CALL NO APOLOGY. When I FINALLY got the glasses today the EYE DOCTOR receptionist waited on me. and the ones in the glass side there was both the male and female with ONLY one customer, I guess I was NOT important enough to bring to me, CHECK the fit, CHECK the lens and MAYBE an apology for it taking so long. If you need a good EYE Doctor they are GOOD, if they order glasses or contacts for YOU, AVOID this side of the office. You will not only be TREATED better but same some money and if they screw up you might get a little something for incovenience . My total cost before issurance for ONE pair of lineless biofocals was $928 and my cost was $502.40. If I had went to Visionworks I could have gotten TWO pairs for a little more AND i would have gottent hem WITHIN a week.

I am not typically one to leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience so…read moreothers can make an informed decision. One issue I encountered was that Digby does not accept many common vision insurance plans. Unfortunately, I did not learn this until after my exam, when I was presented with a bill that I had to pay out of pocket. Because my insurance was not accepted, I took my prescription to LensCrafters to have progressive lenses made. After receiving the glasses, I experienced significant vision issues and initially believed the lenses may have been manufactured incorrectly. However, LensCrafters strongly maintained that the lenses were made according to the prescription provided and suggested that the prescription itself might be the source of the problem. When I contacted Digby's office, I explained the situation and asked whether they would review the prescription and verify the glasses. I was told that if I wanted the matter investigated further, I would need to schedule and pay for another eye exam. I was disappointed that the possibility of an inaccurate prescription was not more seriously considered and that there was no willingness to evaluate the issue without charging for an additional exam. Between the unexpected out-of-pocket expense, the insurance limitations, and the difficulty resolving the prescription concerns, my overall experience was frustrating. In hindsight, I wish I had done more research before scheduling my appointment. I would encourage prospective patients to verify insurance coverage in advance and understand the office's policies regarding follow-up concerns before committing to care.
