The owner, Jen, reviewed my desired Teddy bear cut including length and shape. Not only was the cut uneven, too short and butchered... my dog's EYELASHES WERE SHAVED OFF! When the owner Jen was questioned about the groom she was extremely argumentative and unapologetic! When asked why her eyebrows were shaved she responded 'well you didn't tell us not to cut them'- blaming me for the results! The Owner took zero responsibility, showed no compassion and offered zero refund! Her only response - 'I don't know what to tell you, we can't put the hair back on'. My dog was put with a new groomer and she came home with razor burn on her bum and under her ears. She was cut way to close to the skin and has been irritated ever since. Had to take her to the vet to make sure nothing was getting infected and $70 later left with an antibiotic in hopes my dog will want to go on walks again. I've been bringing my pets here for about 2 years. They helped me to treat and ultimately put to…read morerest my 16 year old dog Ody, 15 year old cat Oscar, and my 16 year old cat Oliver last year within a few months of each other. It was fucking brutal. They were my family and my responsibility and I work from home so I was there for every moment of their decline. They helped me identify when was the right time with each of them. I can't express how valuable that certainty is after being burnt out from waking up in the middle of the night constantly to clean up vomit and struggling to get them to eat all day. I reflect on it constantly when my mind wanders but I feel reassurance instead of guilt/shame. The process was beautiful compared to previous experiences with colder, less competent vets. My only regrets are that I didn't get them on pet insurance to help better accomodate their end of life discomfort and off set the cost of their testings sooner. They reminded me about the value of pet insurance and helped me get all of my current pets onto policies through my wifes workplace benefits. The policies already saved me about a thousand already and literally the next week my dog Mochi ate something that nearly obstructed her bowels and cost us 200 instead of 800. I got a new puppy Spaetzle and they treat him like a king. The front desk folks make me feel like a celebrity when I bring him in because he's so damn cute and sweet. They even try to pronounce his name correctly despite its germanic difficulty. They even send automatic "Happy Birthday" emails for your pets. It inspired me to put them in my calendar and celebrate them. Infact its Mochis birthday today, that's why I'm writing this because I plan to try to celebrate their birthdays moving forward so I can feel less remorse and more pride in the quality of life I'm able to provide. That's the kind of change they helped me make.

I should have never taken my dog to this location for grooming. I am a Chicago resident but I am visiting family in PA, and I needed to get my 2y/o yorkipoo groomed. I scheduled a grooming appointment for March 2, and arrived a little late due to traffic on the highway, but I still arrived within the 15 minute grace period. I called the location multiple times while en route to inform the staff of my ETA, and to ask if they would still be able to accommodate me. No one answered the phone. When I arrived, a small male groomer immediately informed me that he couldn't groom my dog because I was late, even though I arrived well within the grace period, per Petco's policy. When my partner and I tried to explain this to the groomer, he rudely interrupted us, and told us that he didn't have time to discuss this with us, and he told us that we needed to leave the grooming area and find someone else to talk to about this issue. This was extremely disrespectful, and I can't help but wonder if my partner and I were dismissed in this way because we're Black??? We looked for a manager on the floor, but we could not find one. I ended up rescheduling my appointment, because none of the other locations in the area had appointments. I should have never done this. When I picked up my dog from his appointment and inspected him in the car, I was horrified. I had requested a bath, haircut, tooth brushing, and nail trim, but it didn't look like they groomed my dog at all. My dog had jagged lines from the clippers in the center of his back and neck and his beard was dirty. Worst of all, my dog had bloody cuts from the clippers all over his ears and his body. He was in so much pain. There were even lacerations inside his ear. This is absolutely terrible. My dog has been getting groomed for his entire life, and I have never witnessed anything like this. I called the location to speak to a manager about this, but of course, no one answered. I'm writing this review to warn other people of the atrocities that occurred at this location. DO NOT GO HERE!

Sarah groomed Sammy (who is almost 14 years old now) and she did a great job, taking care to make him look just like the pictures I showed her from a previous grooming appointment at a different salon. The whole process took maybe an hour tops, and she called me right after she finished which made the process less stressful for my old man. No waiting around for hours in a cage here!
