After a VERY traumatic and HORRIFIC experience at Silly Dogs, in Trolley Square, I contacted Heather and explained to her EVERYTHING that had happened with Dusty at the previous groomer. How he was just extremely harshly brushed and his mats pulled out, that his poor skin was SO red, irritated, scrabbed and how traumatized he was and that I wasn't sure how he would behave. Heather was SO compassionate and understanding. Well, when we came to pick him up, you could see the happiness and relief Dusty felt from the experience he had with these extremely talented women! He smelled wonderful and was so clean and his fur was so silky, a comb could go through his fur, all over his body! Would rate this place -10000…read more We have a 245 pound Great pyrenees, he does not like being clean so we reach out to Bob and he assured us he specializes in big dogs. He was 45 minutes late. We told him our Silas (that's his name) is a lot stubborn. Bob told us his 20 years of working with dogs and he will be fine. Bob put the leash on Silas and he did not want to go out the front door. Bob literally dragged him out the door. Then Bob dragged him across the front lawn and before I had a chance to tell Bob to stop Silas was already in the camper Bob used for his service. Silas was in the mobile camper for about 90 minutes. Then on the front house camera I see Silas pulling Bob up the lawn so he can get away from this guy. Meet Bob at the front door and our Silas was bleeding on his left dew claw, Bob began to lie to us saying the dew claw was wrapped into his pad. This is not true because our neighbor cuts all our boy's nails. At this time my wife is crying her eyes out, she called our neighbor as he has always helped us in the past. Buy this time I'm ready to just grab Bob an toss him out. Silas was heavy panting and any dog owners would know he was under a great deal of stress. I gave Bob his $200.00 as this is what we agreed on and asked him nicely to just leave. My Silas has not been the same, this all happened on 5/15/2023. I just try and let Silas know this will never happen to him again. We have text Stephanie for our receipt as Bob never gave us one. She has not responded. Now today I noticed Silas left eye top area all blood shot. All this tells me is Bob doesn't know how to handle animals. Painting a picture for you all, Bob came not dressed for the job he wants, the white camper looked all beaten up on the outside with no advertising on the sides. I will say people do your homework when dealing with something like this. Rest assured I will be telling everyone who will listen about this horrible experience. I will be putting a complaint to the better business bureau and to see if he is licensed in the State of Delaware. I would not let this guy and his company clean a stuff animal. They also sell various foods, treats, and dog accessories. I go there to give my 135 pound pup (Xena) a bath, and have been doing so for years. I used to occasionally take her somewhere and drop her off to get cleaned but stopped when I discovered Barb's. You spend more money at some of these other places and you don't always get your pet back as clean as you want them. I go to Barb's because I enjoy their self wash booth. I can scrub my dog and clean her as much as I like, and I know the job is done right. They supply you with the water, different shampoos, brushes, towels, and a dryer. The self wash is also very affordable. You can also have them clean your dog and professionally groom them. I haven't used this service personally, but I always see happy customers in there when cleaning my dog so I know they must be doing something good. The staff is always super nice and courteous. I highly recommend this place, especially if you like to bond with your pet during bath time. 5 stars!

My dog was a client years ago and since moving back in the area, I decided to bring her back for…read moregrooming. I brushed my dog on Monday and brought her in on Tuesday morning for her appointment. For grooming instructions, I specifically state to Barb "only take off about an inch, keep her FLUFFY, trim around eyes, shave paws, butt, trim nails and leave tail long just brush. Also, she is matted on her legs but I like her fluffy." Barb states okay we will take good care of her. I receive a call to pick her up about 1.5 hours later which I thought was pretty quick. I return to the shop to see my dog is completely shaved down. I was pissed. I asked why is she so low and Barb says she was matted under the arms. Okay I explained that when I dropped her off. If my dog had to be completely shaved because of the arm matting why wasn't that explained to me when I told you initially she was in fact matted and why wasn't I notified once this decision was determined so I can decide what's best for my dog. These groomers think they can just shave your dog to their liking and totally disregard what the customer requested. I will not be returning. I tried to support a local small business and return to a place where my dog received previous great service. I guess over the years the service has deteriorated. Again I am not return ing and now I have to wait weeks for my dog's hair to grow back where she doesn't look sickly.
