Cleopatra's is a true, no-frills dive bar located in an interesting strip mall off Alameda in Lakewood. If you weren't actively looking for the bar, you probably would miss it driving by every time. Don't let that scare you off though! They had a simple offering of drinks (think what is normally ordered at a dive bar) but the service was quick and friendly. No complaints there. The space is actually bigger than it looks with plenty of pub style tables, 2 pool tables, and a decent sized bar. The real appeal here, at least for me it could be a deterrent for you, was that you can smoke inside! I haven't seen a bar where that is the case in a very long time and I was pleasantly surprised. read more

Oh my God I walked in and everyone was smoking cigarettes inside the place I didn't even know that was legal I was disgusted and walked out

As a hobby, I chart possessions at Division 2 basketball games. I've been doing this, in an unofficial capacity, for Metro State for years. I always chart the Elite 8 Division 2 MBB tournament. I was able to chart the quarterfinals and semifinals off the internet. However, the title game was only on CBS network tv and I don't own a television. The bar where I usually chart the title game closed suddenly. As for the chart, here is the link to my work: https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:22f7acfc-bb24-4aaf-86a3-4b23e31029ca Rachel at Cleopatra's came to the rescue! They are across the street from where I live and she set up the TV and volume. The picture below is my set up. I ate a delicious pizza and had a Diet Coke. Yes, I left a $10.00 tip! They have a great setup for Karaoke as well. You can get in the que via your cell phone. Great place, even with the cigarette smoke! read more

Let's be honest, this place is total dump but that's what makes it cool! One of only 3 places I've seen in the last 15 years with ash trays right on the bar and people smoking.... step back in time. I met a few girls here I had met a few nights earlier because their AirBnB was near here... it had nothing to do with Cleopatra!! Service was great from the bartender and yes the owner was in the corner on the phone and bitching at her about the bottles? Lots of shady regulars at the bar during broad daylight & I couldn't imagine the crowd at night! LOUD JUKEBOX/ talk later read more

I love this bar! The bartender is so nice and the drinks are cheap. It's a great dive bar

I can't stand the smell of cigarettes, but lasted a good three hours deep into the night on Super Bowl Sunday in here due to the fun environment and karaoke. Had a ton of fun conversations at this bar, from random people playing pool, to the bartenders, who were super nice and funny. Drinks are cheap and strong, and the DJ was great too. Danced the night away and it was a blast. It's the definition of a dive bar, but worth taking a plunge once just to soak in the ambiance..just make sure you go outside every so often for some oxygen lol. Definitely go on a karaoke night! read more

They drug your beer here. Definitely watch the bartenders when they pour you a drink. Anyone who goes be careful

Used to be a fun time. They replaced the entire staff and now nobody there can make even the simplest of cocktails. Order a gin and tonic? Here's a gin and soda. Order a vodka soda? Here's vodka and water. Stick to bottled beverages or you're sure to be disappointed. They claim to have a full kitchen which is laughable. Yall they just serve fries, and you're lucky if they're in stock. This place has gone down the toilet so hard. RIP read more

No. Terrible service. The bartender said she would close my tab, then she didn't come back for 45 minutes, and I missed my Uber.

The owner, Sam, is rude and drunk all the time. He belittled his customers and worst of all, his employees! Don't go here. Really. Not a good time. read more

The owner, Sam, is a crazy Eqyptian guy who plays piano and ping-pong. He can normally be found hanging out at the bar, which always makes it a fun night because he's quite the character. This is a cigar bar, so be prepared for lots of smoke. The prices are reasonable and they are generous with the pours. Don't expect anyone to suggest a cab though so be aware of your tolerance and try to be responsible! read more

If you own: a trucker hat, mullet, or an Adidas stripe in your hair, then WELCOME. Overall, an excellent dive. If you show up in more than jeans and a three day beard, you're out of your element. Good place to play free pool on Wednesdays and listen to an assortment of Metallica and Hip-Hop, with the occasional silence as the juke box is reloaded. Good cheap drinks, blue collar patrons, and the affluent group of pool sharks carrying their **very own** hand crafted cues. If you want to get BOMBED for $10- go to Cleo's. Just remember- the dirtier the jeans, the better your stay. Just watch out for the men dressed as Ziggy Stardust and ZZ Top. They'll either hit on you or shred your face off. Either way- a must if you're up for a cheep brew. read more

I am absolutely in love with this place. Karaoke and smoking, and the staff. So sweet and amazing! I love love this place!

I love this place. The bartenders are AMAZING!! The fact they dont bother you over anything too is whats amazing. I go there for Karaoke often and its amazing! read more

I have gone to Cleopatra's a few times to play pool and am not very likely to go back. The tables are beat up, the staff doesn't much care about the little things when I asked about a new piece of chalk - I couldn't really tell if she had even heard me. The beer took a while to come, and ordering another took a regular to get the attention of the bartender. I do like that I can smoke and drink beer and be inside. read more

I love this bar! the atmosphere is great, I can smoke inside and they have a great staff! avoid cleo's on fridays and saturdays unless you enjoy djs with poor selections of music that they seem to have pulled straight off a local radio station. aside from that, this is a must if you enjoy dive/cigar bars. and I would recommend going more than once, make it your "cheers" and you will not be disappointed! free pool on wednesdays and dougie and christa are awesome. plus on the right days you can catch me at free book signings all night. bring a book, any book and I'll sign it! read more

If you want to encounter the scum of all scum, this is the place for you. The owner is always sitting at the bar beyond wasted barking orders at his trashy dirty clothed staff. The beers are on a pour system, so after waiting for them to pour 4 pitchers of foam, you get a glass of warm beer. The condition of the place is probably the worst part. an inch of visable dust behind the bar, and everything smells like old beer and tabbaco. this place is a hazard and should be put out of its misery. read more

3.5 stars. It has its share of charm for an old Lakewood semi dive. You can smoke inside which is rare for Denver area bars and the glasses are ice cold so your coors will be easy to drink. Pool and a jukebox make this a nice little happy hour spot if avoiding the chains in Belmar suits your fancy. Grab a beer and a smoke and enjoy! read more

The tap beer tastes like puke and the karaoke was god awful. Everyone else was having fun and drinking out of bottles so you might like it. I'm on my way to shower and wash my clothes after two minutes in Cleopatras made my clothes stink of smoke. Gnarly dive bar with no charm. read more

Lakewood Dive Bar! I obeyed my sense of adventure and stopped in for a quick beer before a dinner party. The regulars were friendly as well as the wait staff. The HH was a 2 fer with reasonably priced bottled beer. Kinda dark with a couple of pool tables and a dart board with a table in front of it, so I am not sure what the protocol is to play. Friendly place that I will visit again. read more

This is finally an awesome neighborhood bar! Went 2 yrs ago and was unimpressed by the tending staff, but a lot has changed. I was having a terrible day, and this was the closest bar, therefore I gave it another chance. Different staff- friendly, clean, and very prompt service. Another thing is that it's a "cigar" bar, which means I can enjoy a drink and cig after a long day in the office. Regulars are so friendly, I will DEFINATELY be back!! THANKS Cleo's!! read more
