With over five years staying at the Coastal Digs properties, my experiences have been nothing short of perfection. Not to say that on the rare occasion something doesn't go wrong. I found this coastaldigs.com on Craigslist just a couple days ago and thought I'd found the perfect place (both units) and if I liked it I'd see if I could rent longer. I wanted to see the unit that was left if possible and ask a couple questions voice to voice. I gave them my number (first via email and they had been texting my cell as of 6:20pm on Saturday night and I provided it again in via text though they were texting me) and asked them to call rather than text repeatedly and find the best time for both of us to meet. Today she responded with "you haven't given your number" and "do you think I just hang around here all day?" Wow that was my first clue about this persons (Dee) lack of professionalism. She tried to nail down my rental dates on Sunday. a.m. and all I asked was for her to call so I could talk in person about a couple things and to find a good time for both of us to meet. This all happened Sunday morning. After 2 rude comments to my asking for a call I said "never mind this is rude" and being a property manager myself for over 25 years I realized best not to move forward. She offered no apology at all. Their response to my comment about me being a property manager was: "Property manager.Lol" (basically calls me a liar) Next line was "Idiot." Next was "You have been an air head from day one. Grow up" then "sounds like you've had a little too much f--king." and the final comment before blocking was "Lol, go baby go" I realized this wasn't someone I'd want to deal with. I am the customer and as a property manager myself I respond kindly and call if requested rather than text. I've spent weeks with prospective clients to find they rent something else. I say thank you for considering us and maybe we can help in the future. All this horrible dialog happened today when I had hoped to figure out a time and ask important questions as I have a disability and needed to make sure the property would suit my limitations. I actually started packing a bag in case I could move in today as they wanted the 1st or the 15th only. I DID SAVE THE ENTIRE TEXT DIALOG (NOT SCREEN SHOTS BUT UNEDITED ORIGINAL ON MY LAPTOP) FOR ANYONE TO SEE FOR THEMSELVES WHAT THE TRUTH IS. I have a vacation property on VRBO as well how frustrating it can be dealing with people and their questions but people have lives and things happen yet always act with professionalism. This was a first and so disappointing as I thought I found the perfect place. I'm sure the rental would probably be fine if you can text/email and book right away. All I asked for was a voice to voice call. - Her comments below are untrue and I have reported this to yelp as I don't want this associated with my reviews. IT IS OBVIOUS BY HER RESPONSE THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. OTHER BUSINESSES RESPOND WITH APOLOGIES AND PROFESSIONAL DIALOG.

We rented a two bedroom two bath unit and stayed there with our grandson and his parents, so five of us plus our dog. YES, they are dog friendly! Yeah!! Very comfortable, plenty of privacy, two patios, etc. Not a single complaint. We just loved it. And the location cannot be beat. It is directly across the street from Strand Beach Park where the views are fantastic and you can walk down the steps to one of the nicest beaches in Southern CA. The first day, they were installing a dishwasher next door and the water was off for a couple of hours. Jeff, the manager from Vacation Concierge came the next day with a plate of cookies and his apologies. None were needed, as it was not a big inconvenience, but it showed evidence of someone who actually cares about his customers. We appreciated it. We will definitely stay again.

We especially loved the complimentary car service, it was a plus. The only thing I'd mention is that the shower felt a bit small, and while the live music by the pool was a nice touch, it felt more like dinner music than pool music. It would have been nice if they mixed up the music throughout the day to create a more upbeat pool atmosphere. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and we would definitely stay again!

We arrived earlier than anticipated and reached out to host for early check-in, didn't hear back from them for 3 DAYS!! Fortunately a groundsman was there to assist with check in. The host had also failed to mention that the pool advertised was under maintenance and was not available to use. A permanent resident had told us it had not been usable for months. Would have been nice to know this as it was a big selling point for us. Luckily the pool was open by our last day! Host was unresponsive to other matters as well including my concerns about their rental registration forms that are due before checkin. reached out through 3 different methods and never heard anything back. Fortunately our stay was fantastic and free of any issues, but would not stay with this management company again.

The bedding was dirty, the floors were filthy, the towels were not clean, no propane in the BBQ grill then calling in we were told, It's after hours to deal with it' so we won't ever book a stay with the 'No Grand Welcome' on Henry Ave. ever again! Very RUDE employees that made us have to use our beach towels with sloppy maid services meant that our stay was a disaster. Book your stay through another vacation rental as the Manager likes to argue and didn't meet our needs. Terrible since this was our first and last stay with this vacation rental company in Kailua Kona, Hawaii on the Big island where we were really looking forward to our stay. Next, they need to FIRE the Manager who's employees didn't help us to get our room clean so I spent time cleaning the floors so find better maids but we won't book a vacation through them ever again. Please Note: We were unable to find the *Yelp Review (SURPRISE) for Grand Welcome for Hawaii so here's what we had to experience and won't be coming back to use this company again.

What is provided? A sad collection of cheap, warped plastic utensils. To top it off, the sink is partially blocked, there is some black mold on the ceiling, and there's peeling paint on the walls. The remote for the sound system doesn't work, and the rugs are filthy. The hose on the deck by the beach to clean off your feat has 2 inches of sand on it so you come out with dirtier feet than when you walked in. It's shocking to encounter this level of neglect at this premium price point. The saving graces are the truly spectacular view of the beach, and easy beach access during low tide. Beds are comfortable enough. Overall, certainly underwhelming for the price point, but despite not meeting our expectations we enjoyed our stay. With just a little more effort this place could really shine.
