Went to St.Joes for a day trip and decided clementines was the "best" option. However after waiting 40+ minutes for our food to come out cold I wish I had not eaten here. I had ordered the salmon dinner with fries and what came out of that kitchen was a tiny (smaller than a hockey puck) sized salmon. Like how can they charge 15.95$ for that?!?! They should call that meal a snack not a dinner! They threw a hard cold piece of Texas toast on my plate when it came out, probably in an attempt to cover up how small the fish was. I left feeling hungry and robbed. Not to mention another person at my table ordered a chicken sandwich and you couldn't even see the tiny chicken patty without lifting up the bun!! It was our first time at Clementines Too this evening. My wife, daughter and I saw the reviews on Google and decided to try it. Our server, Jake King, was amazing! We explained it was our first time and his menu suggestions were spot on. My wife's prime rib was as seasoned perfectly and cooked to excellence. My yellow bellied perch was exceptional as well. Everything was simply delicious. I don't think our experience wouldn't have been so amazing if it weren't for Jake's expert advice and service. Went here with my Mom and sister and her girlfriend after doing some wedding location scouting! Service was great! The young lady was very responsive and helpful! My mom and sister shared the fried zucchini which was great!! And a giant club sandwich! My sisters girlfriend got a big Caesar salad and loved it!! I got the Grilled. Chicken breast with Strawberry's glaze and walnuts! The glaze was a little over powering to me seemed like a strawberry pie filling with some chopped up strawberries thrown in. And my chicken breast was bland little to no seasoning. My sisters Gf's salad had wonderfully charred and seasoned chicken so I was a little disappointed in my mea tasting like a bland piece of chicken covered in sugar sauce. The hard ciders on the menu were not available but a strawberry one on tape was and when we saw the bill it was $12 I believe per pint!!! Compared to the like $6-8 menu price if I recall. Wish we would've been told the only one on hand was almost twice the price of the drink menu one. The water is a small one lane road hop away from the patio seating. Will I go back ? I'm not sure honestly portions were large but the less then Stellar chicken breast I had and the super over priced hard cider might just be the closing argument to not return. read more

Ordered a Dinghy Basket with a side of onion rings for takeout. The "basket of chicken" came with just two tiny strips of chicken fingers, no sweet and sour sauce, and soggy rings. My friends and I have ordered this dish before and we had received 4-5 strips normally. If anything were to be skimped on I'd expect it to be the sides, not the main part of the dish itself. On our first night in town for vacation we ordered carry-out from Clementines Too. Everything on the menu sounded so good! We ordered: -Chicken Cesar Salad -Clementine Club -Kids Chicken Tenders -Kraft Mac & Cheese -Side order of curly fries -Apple Dumpling & Ice Cream The Chicken Cesar Salad lettuce was completely rotten and wilted. Unfortunately it was unable to be eaten, so a big waste of $13 and my husband didn't get a meal! The club was decent - not awful, not great. Both meals said they came with coleslaw and neither one did. Presented well. The Mac and cheese was eaten by my kids but $5.99 for that is overpriced. Also it came with a side of apples in a bag that were expired - they were fermented and slimey so had to be tossed. Fries were very soggy. Apple dumpling & ice cream was pretty good. Overall, I'd not eat here again. wasted money on several items, didn't receive some items and had multiple rotten components of meals. read more

This is one of my family's go to places when visiting St. Joe. It has a beautiful location right on the water. We love to watch the boats come and go while eating our meal. I will say, it is ALWAYS busy. Sometimes it can be difficult just to walk in the door it gets so busy. However, some how the wait is never bad. There are lots of seating in the waiting area. The wait staff does a good job seating people quickly. The food here is good. They have a pretty diverse menu. It includes pasta, burritos, burgers, and some really great salads. Most recently, I was not too hungry so I had the Double Eagle salad (without ham and turkey). It was very good. It had a lot of cheese but still it was a very good basic salad. The taco salad is also really great. I would also suggest ordering onion rings as an appetizer. Oh my gosh, they melt in your mouth. They are absolutely so delicious! The dipping sauce is fantastic. We have always had a good experience with our server. Our waitress this time was sweet and went out of her way to answer any questions we had. She checked in on us several times to make sure we were enjoying our meal and to be sure we did not need anything else. As for prices, this restaurant is pretty average. It is a relatively nice sit down restaurant. I would estimate it is about $15 per person. If you are in St. Joe, Michigan, I would definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

Clementine two. Two is for two stars. Waited an hour for food. Had four kids with us. Staff was kind of friendly, kind of annoyed that we seemed to expect slightly faster service or at least updates on the progress. When it did come, the perch was extremely salty, like I was eating it with sea water. My wife got some pieces with bones and scales in it. I got salmon on my salad, but it was not fresh and blue cheese tasted a little off. Should've searched yelp before agreeing to go to this place. So, my first experience at Clementine's was great and I was just DYING to go back. But my second time (mid-June 2013) just really pissed me off. I went during a totally off time of the day, 3 in the afternoon, so they weren't busy at all. I asked to be seated on the deck and I was. There was a waitress working the deck, because she kept coming out and taking orders from everyone around me and bringing food to everyone around me. I tried flagging her down, tried to make eye contact, but she successfully ignored my presence for 40 MINUTES!!!!! On a hot summer day! Not even so much as a glass of water! I literally had to get up and leave in order to go get myself some water somewhere else before I died of dehydration. I've never been so angry. I know..."Oh my darlin', Clementine." is the first thing I thought when I found this restaurant when googling restaurants in the South Haven area. Well, South Haven was already full when we were booking our road-trip rooms and I noticed a Clementine's sister location in St. Joseph. So, we came here instead. Why eat at a place called "Clementine's" you ask? It sounds like a bad diner straight out of the 70s. Well, while perusing their online menu, I found a menu item titled "Mess of Lake Perch" and there was a photo of a shitload of breaded perch served with cheezy garlic bread and fries! Oh, and then there's the onion rings served on a spindle, like on a vertical paper town rack that you have on your kitchen counter! And, you don't order onion rings at Clementine's as large or small, but by measurement, i.e., you can get a 6" or 12" order! So, we arrive. The restaurant is pretty basic looking as you can see from the pictures and is butt up against a marina. The Lake Perch was AWESOME! I think the best I've had to date! Juicy, thick filets as far as Lake Perch goes. I've had thin mostly breading Lake Perch all too many times at other established fish frys. Also best ever were the Onion Rings, 6" really was 8-10" of FAT/HUGE perfectly breaded rings. I love onions, am NOT a big onion ring fan (because most places aren't good at them) and well, Clementine's takes the cake in the Ring dept. Move over Moody's! read more

Don't come here. Make sure to check how long ago the good reviews were written because it can't have been recently. We got the fried perch, onion rings, chicken strips, and two salmon dinners. EVERYTHING except for the salmon was cold. The ranch was chunky, the onion rings were also tough, and the prices they charge are ridiculous for this disappointing food. However, the salmon was still pretty good besides being VERY charred. Also, our waitress Kirsten was so sweet and she was constantly running around to make sure everybody's needs were met. Still, I can't believe the wait and how crowded this place is. Also.. considering how crowded it is, shouldn't the food be cooked fresh and not sad and cold? The perch, which was recommended, looked and tasted frozen and about the same temperature as a fish inside a freezer. So.. don't come here if you want to have a hot tasty dinner. We have heard about this place but always have missed each season. Well we made it this year and I have too tell you! Wow! I love any kind of food and consider myself as not a very picky person. However food this time I got nothing to say but huge disappointment. Didn't finish my walleye fillets: felt like unfrozen, oily crap. My wife got sick later that night after eating your perch. At least both kids were happy. Service very nice, place so so but food what a disaster. I am sorry but will never return and recommend to anyone visiting St Joe. read more

I can see only one reason to visit Clementine's: if you're craving something deep fried. The restaurant has delicious fried mushrooms, onion rings, shrimp, and French fries. The batter and seasoning is perfectly crispy, smooth, salty, and yeasty. Their homemade ranch is sinfully rich; the perfect dipping sauce. I'm giving two stars though, because it takes 45 minutes to get your food here, regardless of the time of day. The drinks are shrug-worthy, and the atmosphere is depressingly uninspired. There are some truly excellent restaurants and bars in St. Joe and Benton Harbor. And while the onion rings and ranch at Clementine's are 4 stars on their own, overall, this place is disappointing. read more

Updating with specifics about the menu: the appetizers are decent, in a small-town Michigan way (not damning with faint praise). Chicken wings a repeater, and the cheese dip is suitably runny without being drippy. Nachos and 'tater skins proper salt bombs; I've ordered them often enough to know. Of the entrees on the menu, I like the "Brewmaster Burger" (caramelized onions on a cheeseburger) and the Tuscan pasta (shrimp in a straightforward olive oil sauce)....but keep an eye on the daily specials menu. My husband loves their periodic (breaded) shrimp specials and while the straight-up prime rib is OK, what the cooks do with the leftover steak and prime rib can be inspired. read more

Two people took food home as the servings were so generous they couldn't finish! I have been to Clementines Too on many occasions and love the food and atmosphere. I went in early June (not sure of date) and on the board in the women's restroom there was a long statement written about Democrats, guns, and "cops". As I was leaving the restroom an employee came in and started to erase the statement. She said "customers have the right to write what they want and we have the right to erase it". This was very unpleasant at the time but I didn't think of it again until today because I'm going to St. Joe tomorrow and don't want to see something like that when I'm just out trying to enjoy a meal. I'm sure I'll go back to Clementines Too at some point, but it won't be soon. I am very disappointed. read more
