A very cool experience. Everyone is so friendly and made me feel welcome. The bikes are pretty new and feel great! Definitely recommend!

After I signed up for the training I found that the trainer was really only available for couple of hours on 2 days of the week to schedule sessions. In other words if I have to use the training sessions I have to make myself available only those 2 days for those limited hours. To make things worse the trainer kept cancelling on me. The gym kept him in for several months on staff due to lack of trainers. When he went missing I was presented with 2 more trainers none of them lasted for more than 2 months. With all the cancellations by the trainers and the personnel changes I ran in to a situation where I had accumulated a lot of sessions with no one to train me. There is no easy way to find out how many training sessions you have left, so I kept asking my trainer for the information who kept directing me to the customer service. Customer service simply points you back to the gym and on and on you go in circles. I finally got hold of the manager who is really hard to get to, only to find somehow I was actually in deficit of sessions! It turns out that all the sessions that the trainers cancelled actually got charged to me. The manager made it up to me by giving me some free sessions but also stealthily signing me up for a 12 month contract! I don't remember signing a contract since I subscribed for DSL with Verizon in 2006. Who has long term agreements anymore? That being said it was my fault that I signed the contract. I have been a gym member for a long time but want to prevent anyone else to be trapped like I was so I wrote this review. To summarize: 1. This gym is short on trainers good luck in getting options for trainers and time slots 2. There is no easy portal/app to see the accounting for your sessions 3. To freeze or cancel the training it requires a lot of perseverance to bounce back and forth between the gym, customer service emails, tickets etc. 4. There are long term contract!! Please read the contract before you sign it. It is only 2 pages long. They will try to make you sign for it on the credit card machine where you cannot read the contract. Please ask they to print it or email it to you so that you know what you are singing for.

The software and app for tracking your progress is great - class rank, calories, and power points so you can compare to yourself or the class. 40 bikes with plenty of room - where you can be seen in the front or hide in the back depending on your style. The stadium seating really helps everyone see the instructor. State of the art sound system is loud and really helps the experience (especially when you compare to other studios). Shoe rental is free and there's good availability of sizes, I've never had an issue. I do wish they had more retail available. I think that's the one area they're really missing out on. They celebrate birthdays, ride milestones, gender reveals like no other! Highly recommend if you're in the area for a class. Your first one is free!

I found out I was pregnant shortly after signing up for a monthly membership and originally requested to freeze and purchase class packs instead. No response from them. Given the lack of handling the situation, I decided to cancel altogether, giving more than the required one months' notice, and eating the remaining one month cost that I didn't use due to travel. They charged me again the following month and it took an additional 2 weeks for Alan to agree to refund the charge, promising to call me to ensure everything was sorted. He never called (all of this happened over email as they refuse to get on the phone). I was charged again this month, despite trying now for three months to cancel. THIS PLACE IS SHADY AF.

There are Real Ryder bikes here (which move like actual bikes!) and stationary bikes as well. There are plenty of bikes nicely spread out, so you aren't on top of someone else during your workout. Every instructor has been pretty fantastic, and they all have a different style of ride. Music choices are usually awesome, and really get you going. You'll likely find the instructor that best fits what you're looking for! I love that you can choose the EXACT bike you want before arriving. No more having to rush in the door to grab your preferred bike -- you sign up a week in advance and select the specific bike you want. Show up 15 minutes early and warm up your legs beforehand as well! I highly suggest grabbing a Groupon and trying this place out. I wish the gym itself wasn't so expensive, because I would join this gym just for these classes alone. Unfortunately, their monthly fee is a bit steep for my budget, so I do my casual gym workouts elsewhere, and come here for the cycling.

I ended up buying a Groupon for RVC Ryde. I wanted to check out a few different spin studios in the…read morearea without making another commitment to another gym. My first class I stuck with using their stationary bikes. On my second class I stepped up my spin game, and being a newbie to cycling, with a Ryder bike I thought I was going to die. Omg your whole core is totally engaged. I just thought hold on tight and ride as my legs, arms and abs are burning. As the instructor tells us "ok go left" and you're leaning your bike and body weight to the left in riding and then "go right and do the same." This is definitely a technique that takes time to learn and get used to. It's not for a newbie starting a routine at a gym or someone trying spin for the first time. If you're new to spin I would recommend using their stationary bikes even though they need to be updated (they're some of the oldest bikes I've used anywhere). That's the one negative. The instructors are awesome and all have great tunes while you ride. Ryder bikes are much harder to use than stationary bikes. I've been used to using those types of bike over the past two years. I love the classes here and the fact that they have about 60 bikes. You'll have to sign up early enough on their app to be able to pick the bike you want. Class schedules go live on Monday's and if you have the VIP membership you can pick your classes 2hrs before the schedule goes live. So if you're looking for a new workout routine or a more challenging spin class, then you need look no further. RVC Ryde instructors will make you workup a sweat.
