Slow, less than thorough exam, glasses were poor correction, extremely high price for everything, and to top it off, my glasses became increasingly foggy after less than two years. I cleaned them with their cleaning solution and cloth regularly, but the fog didn't come off. It was like putting on cataracts and got so bad that I could see better without them. The glasses actually impeded my vision! I will never go back there for an eye exam or glasses! read more

I need to speak with the owner of this establishment we are going on 47 to 49 days and I still do not have my glasses. I don't know how many times they haven't said exactly how many times that my my prescription has been sent to to to make them my part ended up denying it because it was been so many times and Sarah, which was supposed to keep me updated and she did not was going to try to push it through for a week and a half which did not happen like I said going on 47 to 49 days this is unacceptable and these are the most incompetent people I have ever dealt with in my life so I would appreciate the owner the manager whoever is over that establishment to contact me. Wow, I'm sending a copy of my 1star review of Texas Eye and Laser Center (Dr. Rennels old practice) where you referred me for cataract surgery. Now I see Cleburne Eye Clinic only gets 2 1/2 stars. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Nonetheless, while I have your attention. I've been a patient with your offices and practices for 23 years. I can see now that my total faith and appreciation for Dr. Kuykendal was foolishly projected onto the rest of your operation. So you know, I can't afford to support to a business with my glasses purchases etc. when it gets 2 1/2 yelp stars. Posh branding, looong waits, and a grand piano in the foyer must be propping you up. Grand Piano? Really? Whose tax write-off was that? It's driving the North Dallas crowd over to Cleburne for sure. Anyway, I'll submit a full yelp review for CEC later ( probably after my cataract follow up next week). In the meantime.here's TE&LS's: Start with "Klara" - their telephone/text transcription portal. Missed calls or messages from patient or staff are linked to and get transcribed to Klara. Supposedly, staff and patients can keep up with where they are in the process. It is abundantly clear that this difficult to navigate portal was never designed for seniors with poor and compromised vision. It's just a CYA for Texas Eye and Laser Surgery or other similar affiliates using "Klara" Patients get the date of their surgery in advanced but not the time to show until the day before. Really? This is only convenient for NTxE&L; Not patients No consideration or accomidation or for patients with hearing issues. You inform them - they pretty much ignore it. This was not an issue with postop nurse, Ashley. Anesthesiologist- did not put me under well enough or respond (when I signaled twice (twice)) for more anesthesia. Was he there (Dr. Crumb) was it a hearing issue? I don't know. Procedure - I feel confident that Dr. Hu did a good job. Despite working on a patient that was in serious pain fear and confusion the entire time (maybe ten minutes). I COULD PAINFULLY FEEL EVERY SCRAPE AND POKE I knew, from what others had told me from their experience this wasn't right and I likewise knew there was no stopping or pulling back. Just had to bear down for the entire time and take getting poked in the eye with a sharp stick. A VERY long, maybe ten minutes. Recovery - no problem. Though, amusingly, they send you off with a very old role of cloth bandage tape to re-affix your eyepatch. The tape has a virtually impossible to find the starting point with good vision much less after surgery. Once the start is found, the tape just sheds into unusable narrow, short strips. Tape may seem a small point but it is very indicative of how unconcerned the lot - Doctors down to staff are for the needs of very vulnerable patients. And you can look at the pictures of the lifeless, grey, chrome, and white decor of their office suite. They decorated from the heart. read more

One star for the amazing Dr Escobar. As far as the rest of the business SCAM. Definitely for not for anyone under 18. They are only taught one way to "teach" a pre teen to put in contacts. then charge $100 if they learn or not and then send you home with NOTHING. No trail pair to practice with.... nothing. Even a pair with no prescription in them to practice with would have help the parent teach their own child instead of a stranger. Then for the "manager" tells you to your face "It's not their fault my child can't learn". You also have to literally demand someone to talk to you there regarding needing service. The staff in eye glasses area and lobby do not offer service. They also charge and when you clearly already have them your insurance information you have to remind them you have it and they have to review it to say "oh yes you are correct you do" Be prepared to pay attention to everything they try to pull. And way OVERPRICED. I will never refer to them again or trust my loved ones to them. read more

The longest eye appointment my kids or I have ever had. We had a 3 hour eye appointment for one child! Mine & my husband's appointment was 2 hours. I have been to many eye appointments at various clinics and never have I had such a long appointment. We were flip flopped between no less than 5 people throughout the appointment. Not to mention the price of a pair of child's glasses with a slight prescription were over $300 WITH insurance. I cancelled my appointment 2 weeks before my yearly one came back around and they keep calling to confirm even though it's been cancelled for weeks now. Go anywhere else!! read more

They take way too long. They didn't call me back until 50 minutes after my appointment and then I was there for 2+ hours all together.

Visit with DO was well worth my visit, but it took too long to go through the preliminary testing.

Absolutely worst experience with any kind of doctors appointment/office. After an hour of waiting in the waiting room, then finally get called back and then told to wait in another area over 15 minutes with others ahead of me, I called it and left. I'm giving them one star because the dr was amazing. There were two people in front of us when we went. We waited in the lobby for 30 minutes till they called us back. But that's not the bad part some how we ended up there 3 hours.... and the place was a ghost town, freaking ridiculous. The exam was supposed to be 15$ $ glasses 95 with no special add ons. At check out I had a total of 250 and asked her why it was so high! She said because the insurance didn't cover my son trying on contact lenses. When I get home and look at my receipt I was charged extra for multiple thing on his glasses. This place is the absolute worst. I would NOT recommend, don't waist your time or your money. read more

I was charged over $500.00 for a pair of glasses (using insurance) that did not even include frames. I used the frames I already had. These were progressive and transitional lenses. It was the first time I had ever had transitional, and it will be the last. After I had my glasses for approximately 4 months, I had to send them back because the lenses developed spots. I was told by one of the ladies at the clinic that it was due to high heat, and she asked me if I had my glasses in that type of condition. I said "I need these glasses for distance & reading, so they are on my face from head up to head down. As far as being in the heat..... I live in Texas". Well, she sent them back and it took 3 weeks to have them returned, redone. 2 months later, they did the exact same thing, so I went back to the clinic and told them to send them back to the lab and have the transition removed. 4 weeks and 2 days later (after several not so nice phone calls), I finally heard back from them to find out the lab had broken my frames. They agreed to give me another pair of frames at no charge; however, I am extremely unhappy with the overall lack of service, communication and very high prices. I would not recommend this eye clinic to anyone. read more

Very rude to my wife when she picked up her glasses, smart answers with attitude. They bent the frame trying to adjust them and now she can't even use them, we shall see if they make this matter right. I had an appointment with this office, gave my info on the phone, filled out my info online and when I got a call the day before the person said my insurance was not valid. I said how could that be since my husband just had cataract surgery through their office. She says oh you have two different medical insurances and I said that is CORRECT, but we have the same vision plan. Then she tried to tell me that one number was off. Well then I asked why have me give you my info over the phone and then again online? Well, she says that there are two different systems and they don't match. I said, do I have an appointment tomorrow or not? We'll have to run your insurance I can't do that because I'm new so someone will have to call you later and I said let me speak to your supervisor. Supervisor comes on, I repeated my conversation and supervisor says the person was new and used the wrong words. I said, do I have an appointment tomorrow because I don't live five minutes away and I don't want to get there and not see the doctor. Supervisor says yes, you have an appointment, I said goodbye and supervisor says, uh huh. Not professional! I called back and canceled. read more

Absolutely the worst experience we have ever had. If there was options for a no star review we would definitely click it. We have never been here before, we have always went to our local eye clinic in our hometown for over a decade. We wanted to try something new, and with all the positive reviews, and my dad going here already, we wanted to give it a try. We walked in and the front desk receptionists were not the kindest. They basically made us feel like we were unwanted and they were just over the day already. She checked us in, and to fill out our paper work, we had questions and she was rude to even answer the questions we had. If I had names I would definitely mention them. They told us to go wait in the car until they call us, which was understandable. My mom and I asked kindly if we were able to look around at frames while we were waiting. The receptionist rudely said I can't have you touching the frames and putting them back up so I'll grab you a tray, which was also understandable. We looked for almost two whole hours without being asked if we needed help, or anything. We had to grab someone to help us in which she was very sweet. We finally got called back, in which from that point everyone was super nice, even the doctor and apologized about our experience. The doctor just got his license and he was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond for us. We understood due to with the COVID-19 going on that they were slammed and it was okay because we have heard so many good things about this place. After our exam we were shy for about 15 minutes of them closing. The doctor said kindly you guys can go look a frames and we will get you all checked out and on the road. We said we have already shopped for our frames and we are ready to go. We went up front and the girl that was helping us rudely said "well sit down because we only have 15 minutes" We both were in shock because I'm sorry that we have been here for about 6 hours and we are just as ready to get out of here just like you. Long story short the girls that was helping us was rude, Disrespectful, and our experience was very uncalled for since we are new customers. I'm so glad we shopped for frames before because we would only have 15 minutes to shop for them according to the girl. We are so sorry that with us being here almost 6 hours and us spending over $2000 out of pocket that we ONLY HAD 15 Minutes to checkout. WE ARE SO SORRY FOR BEING SUCH AN INCONVENIENCE! This is by far the worst experience we have ever encountered. My mom called last Friday and asked when the frames would be in, and they told her that it was scheduled to arrive on Monday June 1st. I had to take off work to be able to come pick them up due to myself living almost two hours away. Come to find out that the frames are not there and that they will be here in 5 days but she couldn't guarantee it. She was even rude on the phone and wouldn't even let my mom talk that's how rude she was. Everything about this experience was horrible. My dad, mom and I will never be back to this place, by far the worst experience we have ever had. read more

A total of 1 hour and 45 minutes of waiting alone in the exam room for the doctor. I was immediately taken back to the exam room where someone took my information. It took the doctor 30 minutes to enter the exam room. She spent 3 minutes examining my eye. She left and another lady took the eye pressure of my eye. I waiting another 45 minutes in the exam room! I finally poked my head out of the room and yelled "hello!" The doctor then came into the room. I waited a total of one hour and 45 minutes in the exam room. I would probably still be sitting in the room had I not stuck my head out to yell at someone! I'm going on $300 spent there in the last 2 weeks and was still not diagnosed with the issue. I wouldn't be so disgruntled if someone had checked on me periodically, but I felt as if they literally forgot I was in there. read more

My appointment was at 2:20 today and I did not get out of there until almost 7pm!!! I also have a 2 hour round trip drive!I love Dr. Martin but the optical sales person Ramona was aggressively pushing me to decide on glasses because it was past closing time! I asked her to give me some space and it might take me a little longer to decide on frames b/c I have a brain injury from a wreck. She starts loudly gossiping to a coworker that came up about another coworker who left early and put in her two week notice. She then looks at me with a pair of glasses on and said those are the one and rushed me to take measurements and get out. She never asked me if I wanted extras like no line bifocals (yes), scratch resistant lenses (yes) blue blocking (yes) and so on. I called the next day to complain about Ramona and to see what options she put on the glasses and I wanted to see about trying on the designer glasses because we have great insurance and I wanted some good ones. Not even a week later, my glasses are in while my husband was there two weeks earlier and still hasn't gotten his!They never returned any of my phone calls to add extras to the glasses or if I even want them. I've called once a day for over a week and not one return phone call. I wish I had not paid for them in full because o feel like I'm getting the shaft! When I call, they are apologetic but now I want to see action! read more

I have to say this Cleburne Eye Clinic and Dr. Kuykendall is awesome! They are professional and so friendly! I have been going to Dr. K for a few years now but, I recently took my 14 yr old daughter as well and she was blown away at how informative Dr. K was and how the entire staff put her at ease. Also, during the visit I had to bring along my other children (3 toddlers) and I can't tell you how nice and supportive the staff was. The visit was fast but thorough and when it came time to pick out frames they helped me keep my cost down by showing me frames in my price range and took frames out from inventory and did not just push what was on display. I felt my daughter got good, stylish frames at a great price. Awesome service! read more
