Been a long-time customer of Clearwater and they always deliver. Initially, Mark came out to inspect a leak with my Jandy pool filter. Quickly determined it was a hairline fracture so a new unit was needed. Worked with Michelle and the owner and got a good deal on a new unit. Dan came out to install the unit and had the thing up and running before I got off a work call. Dan has been one of the regular guys to service our equipment and he does a great job explaining all the necessary steps and maintenance moving forward. Thanks again Clearwater! read more

Evan came today to replace my salt cell. It went bad on me but Michelle had went out of her way to make sure it got replaced. She stayed in communication with me through the whole process, which I loved. Evan was extremely knowledgeable about my pool and even made some really good recommendations to keep my pool running smoothly! He took his time to teach me how to clean my new salt cell, and really made sure I understood what was going on with my equipment. He was really nice and genuinely seemed to love his job! Top in class for a newbie w a portable spa that we bought Thursday and had the water tested today w no chemicals and zero knowledge. The staff was out of this world when my wife called and asked a few questions. I went home on lunch and got a water sample so she could bring it in on her lunch and not knowing what they would say we left for $8 and $1000000 worth of knowledge. Absolutely terrible experience with Clearwater Pool Service in Indian Land, SC. I hired them to vacuum the pool, clean the filters, scrub the pool floor, and balance the chemicals. The tech showed up, barely stayed 30 minutes, did a rushed job, and still charged me for a full hour. They never provided an invoice--just said it would be emailed, which I never received it. On top of that, I was overcharged for the chemicals (I compared the prices online--massive markup), and nothing was explained properly. the tech was told about the malfunction pump he said it should be fine in a day, it's still same Tried calling multiple times--no return calls. When I finally got someone named Magen on the phone, she hung up on me mid-conversation, saying they were "only there to teach us how to set up the pool settings." Not what we paid for. Complete waste of time and money. I would never recommend this company to anyone. A good business depended on providing service should accept responsibility and come back to finish the job that was left undone. In this day and age, why would I pay someone $125 for full hour to teach me to push some buttons that I can easily find online I'm OUT $230 and messy pool with messy pool with debris. read more

After I spoke to Meghan and she told me she would help me I was amazed at how fast she set someone up to replace my pool motor. The weather was freezing and to be without a motor was frightening. This pool services sucks. We had a green pool they were supposed to clear up after 2 months and $1,000.00 we still have a green pool and of course it is our fault. Please stay away from this place it is a rip off. Wish you didn't have to add a star they don't deserve it. read more

Anyone with a pool knows, it's hard to find a dependable company that can tackle the technical stuff when it goes wrong with your pool. The Clearwater folks, Danny, Mark, Keith, they are the ONLY pool service company in our area that helped us fix 2 issues we've had with our spa and our lights. Fixes we couldn't even get Hayward to help us address since the build was complete on our pool 4 years ago!!! They are no frills and communication was a bit spotty (which is the only reason I gave 4 vs 5 stars), but they stand by their work, no BS and get the job done. This pool service was recommended to us for pool linear. They put in a pool linear, was done nicely. But..and this is a big but...they did not properly inspect the pool light area, and the pool started leaking water. The man came back out and was very agitated trying to point issue at pool pump, he said call Leak Squad if our issue we will refund the 399 they charge. Leak squad came out and stated that the light is leaking, they also adjusted a cover that was installed by Clearwater pools to stop it from leaking. Clearwater pools will not take responsibility for the leak at the light (whose inspection was included in contract). Any other pool company will not guarantee the pool liner at this point if they have to fix the light area. But if Clearwater pool sub contracts to guarantee liner no issue. After a month Clearwater pools does not return calls/emails to state when they will sub contract work out. We have stated we have no issue to pay sub contractor, however any time from Clearwater pool required is clearly under warranty work. To Date: They still owe us for LeakSquad, pool is unusable. Do not use this company!!! What is sad, is the LeakSquad and GatorPools all were shocked at the lack of response from Clearwater pools. I hope they resolve the issue and I can report back with good news. But, for now,,,try Gator Pools for any liner replacments. read more

We have been dealing with this company for almost a year trying to get a light in our pool that is under warranty replaced and they have not been able to get us the light nor fix it. You call the office and they never return your call and can never give you an answer. They should NOT be on the authorized Hayward dealer list as they are awful! read more

We have used Clearwater Pool Service for more than 4 years. They have been nothing but polite, professional and have always had great communication. Our pool is always beautiful and clean as they come to our home once a week in The Point. If we ever have a problem they have had a tech out promptly to fix it. Been using Clearwater Pool Service for 5 years now after prior service went out of business. They are extremely reliable and knowledgeable when repairing, servicing & upgrading our pool. Keith is a pleasure to work with and is always honest assessing the situation and fair pricing. Clearwater provides me piece of mind knowing they're always their for me when I need them. Communication could be a little better but I'm most concerned with that result which has been good. Would recommend Clearwater when you need your pool fixed quickly and correctly. read more

We used Clearwater for 2 seasons for our maintenance and it was horrible!! We were averaging $500 a month in fees and we were having to do a lot of work ourselves....we entertain a lot & asked them to come out before one of our parties & we were promised they would because the water was turning green..the never showed. They came to cover the pool & put the cover around the ladder & left the ladder in the ground & never came back to remove the ladder. We contacted them to get our pool opened last Monday were told they would be out Wednesday..never showed so we reached out Thursday to ask if they were coming and never heard back so we sent a message not to come because we had to get someone else to come out....have yet to hear from them....assuming they don't need the business. read more

Clearwater came out to do my pool inspection for a new home purchase. The inspector seemed knowledgeable. 3 days later we still did not have our inspection report. We followed up several times, only to finally receive a report that was not comprehensive and was missing information that was discussed by the inspector as needing fixed. We followed up after receiving the insufficient report but never received a call back. Save your time and money and look elsewhere. read more

I contacted Clearwater Pool Service because apparently they have been authorized by Hayward Pools, the manufacturer of LED pool lights, to perform their warranty service. They are sublet through Hayward. I reported this warranty claim (3) three weeks ago and finally took it upon myself to contact Clearwater Pool service to schedule an appointment. It was evident that they were not going to call me although they had my claim. I made an appointment for Friday, June 14, 2019 and agreed upon a 9:00am-2:30pm window for my pool light replacement. On Friday, I never heard from them. I called at 11:30 am to confirm that I was on the service list for that day and they claimed that they were going to call me to reschedule for another time claiming that they were "four weeks out" for repairs due to weather. Funny, they didn't mention it when I made the appointment two days earlier! I pleaded to get someone out to my house as I arranged my schedule around their appointment and was waiting for them to arrive. The receptionist was rude and had an "I don't care" underlying tone. I demanded to speak to the owner and she put me on hold. Minutes later she stated that the owner was "in a meeting". I was still engaged in the conversation when she abruptly hung up the phone on me. It is obvious to me now, why this company was rated so poor by others. They should change their profession to the garbage industry because that what they are...garbage. Don't waste your time with this company and by all means, read their poor reviews. I gave them a 1 star because they don't offer a zero star. My next complaint will be with the Better Business Bureau and Hayward corporate. read more

I used Clearwater Service for the past two years. They were reliable until this season, apparently the tech who serviced my pool so well resigned and the new tech appeared to have very little knowledge of pools. I called to discuss this with the manager, Marie and told her that if I could not get someone else I would need to find another service, and her exact and immediate response was "I guess were not going to make you happy so you should just find another service." To add, last year they quoted me an outrageous price to replace just the digital display board only on my pump. I ordered the entire pump, that included the same digital display board, and had it installed with another service for less than half Clearwater's quoted price. I just called today to disputes a new charge for services they did not perform. They did say they would reimburse me, I will wait to see. read more

I have called 3 times (needing to follow-up each time) and still, have not had someone schedule an appointment. If it takes this much effort to get a call back, it will probably be a horror story doing business with them. No thank you.
