I hired Dick's Roofing after a recommendation tied to owner Jeff Milkie. The job was a 15,000-sq-ft…read morecommercial rubber roof replacement for $74,720. On day one, the subcontracted crew removed half the roof and disconnected roof drains despite a known rain forecast, after being instructed by Jeff Milkie to proceed anyway. Heavy rain fell that afternoon, causing over $100,000 in interior damage. We were forced into a 4+ month insurance settlement as a direct result of this reckless decision. Additional damage was caused to rooftop HVAC equipment. Within one month of completion, the roof began leaking in multiple locations. Over the past three years, I have contacted Jeff Milkie at least five times. No repairs have been made--only dismissive, snide responses. The roof is still under warranty, yet the leaks continue and cause ongoing damage. I've completely lost confidence this company will stand behind its work and will likely need to hire a competent contractor and pursue legal action.

But upon completion back in September, Dan stated he would seal at no cost "a month after" - that didn't happen. His commit to doing so is the only reason we didn't do it. As a result, it got beat up with the constant weather events and will need to be resurfaced. But second: we contracted with him to do a gutter replacement well in advance of the forth coming rain. It took almost 4 months before he showed. He offered a discount off of the price; then when he finally did show, he only removed some of the existing gutter and left without installing any new. He even left his ladder behind for some reason. Multiple emails for followup status have gone unanswered. It's the lack of communication and unfinished task (which can cause roof damage) that forces star drop. Previously he had indicated that they moved "far up north" - so it's possible he needed to change his service area but hasn't. That's on the business though; if you accept a job and money for the job, you complete the job as agreed. Which might mean something as simple as booking a hotel nearby for a week until the job is done or something.
