Super disappointed in their fee practice. I was quoted a specific amount for xmas lights. I sent in pictures for all the parts I wanted them installed on. They came out to do the work. I was busy around the house. Noticed them on my tile roof and not on the ladders. I now have several cracked tiles. They were finishing up and left one whole side without lights. They said they were short on the lights and would have to come back out. They came a second time and installed the lights. Everything was great until they charged my card. I agreed to $600. First $300 was a deposit prior to the install date and $300 once the Install was finished. That eve my card was charged another $625. I was not happy. Then the kicker to it all was at almost $1000 you don't even own the lights they are rented. Will not use them again. I also have to have someone fix the broken roof tiles. Piss poor communication. The lights do look great, but $925 is way too much. I think "the we don't have enough lights" is part of the scam. When I mentioned the bbb and getting police involved because of the unauthorized charge to my card, I was told I could keep the lights. Still $1000 for 200 ft of basic xmas lights installed. So not worth the price tag. read more

We paid over $2000 for the motorized screen that Dan upsold to us and it has been over 4 months and we have Called and called and no reply. They have absconded with our money and we have yet to see any product. This has also been referred to the better business bureau. 1. We were convinced by Dan that the shade would be approved by the hoa no problem 2. I am not trying to make you look like a bad business. Love how you try to turn it around and blame us when we have called Dan three or four times. Each time he said he would call within a specified number of days but never did and stopped answering our calls 3 we already went to hoa for appeal but Dan was not available because he said it was his birthday. We have had our screen door for about 3 years. The installation went well by the dealer in Victor, ID, and the door works as advertised. But. We have a dog and a cat and it took them less than a day to figure out how to open the door. The dog pushes on the screen and bingo, it opens. The cat sometimes pushes, but usually just goes under the screen, which sometimes pops the door open, sometimes not. The screen bottom has stretched and is slack in the channel in which it rides. Soon, the screen will have to be replaced, though doing so probably won't be easy. Some kind of bottom hem reinforcement might solve that problem, but not the popping open. Neither animal seems capable of learning how to close the door and consequently we wish that we had stuck with the nice traditional wooden door that we liked. Plus, we kind of miss the slap of a screen door closing, though that's a personal preference. It's because we have pets that we've given the door a low rating, but if we didn't we would give the door a solid 4. read more

Just had one installed. Product design and quality is very good, installation is just average quality. I am a picky homeowner and am willing to pay more for something that will last. If you do it right the first time and it should last a good 10+ years. The screen door is made of quality materials that should last a long time. But it irks me when the installer uses the cheapest zinc screws that I know will rust out in a few years, negating the quality of the screen door. I will need to go buy better screws and replace them all. Had to point out that the installation was not done correctly due to a large gap. Even with a smaller gap, I had to caulk it afterwards as the installer said caulking wasnt needed. (Water will seep in and rot away the wood in the winter.) I suspect Clearview contracts out installation and does not provide quality attachment screws so their contractors use the absolutely cheapest hardware around, negating the quality of their screen doors. Also, their salesman/estimator insists you buy their $30 maintenence kit which is a rip off - a $5 can of silicone spray, a rag and a paint brush! I would rather pay $30 for a $5 set of stainless steel screws that will last as long as their screen door. It irks me that for a $700+ product, the difference of $5 more of quality parts could make the difference between it lasting 3 years to it lasting 10+ year. So 5 stars for the door quality and 2-3 stars for installation. I dont expect most people would have noticed these details, because they arent obvious, but 3+ years later, you would start having issues! read more

I am writing this review before the product is installed and the rating reflects the way the whole process has been managed to date. I called to get an appointment set up for someone to come out and see what options were available to me and discuss pricing. I was given a time 2 weeks out on a Saturday with a specific time of 12:00 PM; not a window of time but a specific time. On the day of the appointment at 12:58 PM, I called ClearView office and I asked if someone was still coming out and at 1:20 PM I received a call from the tech saying he is running late and will be there in 20 minutes. He showed up just before 2 PM and spent about 15 minutes there discussing the options and collecting the 50% down payment on 2 doors. On the following Monday, I received a call scheduling the install for a Saturday, 3 weeks out, which is in about 3 days from when I am writing this review for 1:30 PM; again, not a window of time but a specific time. Today, I get a call saying that they need to "pull back" the appointment by a little bit to 3 PM! I think they meant push out to 3 PM, so I called to see what happened and after going through the Abbott & Costello routine with the first person who answered the call getting no logical response for the push out, she had me speak with another person who told me they are very busy this summer and that the same guy that was late the last time will be out between 3 & 5 PM on Saturday! Wait, until now everything has been a specific time, now it is a window of time 3 days before the appointment and I have to change my plans for Saturday to accommodate their poor or inept scheduling management. She said we have too many appointments scheduled for Saturday morning and didn't want to be late so they pushed my appointment out. In other words, they squeezed another 1 or 2 appointments in pushing me out because "we are very busy this summer"! The experience to date has not been very good and I am hoping the quality of product and installation is not horrible because "it has been a very busy summer" for ClearView. Clearly, customer service is not their concern! read more

So Easy! I met Doug at his exhibit at the San Carlos Wine & Art festival: I called him for an estimate, expecting just a few quick measurements. But Doug was extremely thorough: he assessed the clearance, existing frame, existing wood threshold. Showed me color options: frame/rail/threshold and gave me a very reasonable estimate. The screen was ready in 2 weeks, installed in 2 hours: such a clean professional job! Doug paid attention to the smallest detail: cutting and shaping components to make sure that the screen structure is barely visible around our door frame. I purchased 9 retractable screens from Clearview 3 years ago and they have worked flawlessly. The white color happens to match the trim of my house so they are barely noticeable when retracted. Three of the screens are in front of French doors and we have had a few occurrence of guests and our cat not seeing the screen mesh when it is engaged and trying to walk right into it. No damage done to the screens (or our cat or the guests). I would note that our French Doors open to the inside meaning the screens are on the outside so they do get direct weather exposure. All the screens require periodic maintenance to make sure they slide easily and retract fully. This is can be done with a damp cloth followed by any silicone spray lubricant. After 3 years, the track for one window screen recently started to pull of the window sill (wood sill is exposed and soft). Clearview was quick to service and repair. Excellent company. read more

I bought the screen doors after purchasing a french door to replace my sliding glass door. Was offered regular screen doors by the company that installed my french doors. After some looking around online I found these, and am very pleased. The only thing I don't like about them is that the top and bottom of the screen stays loose and therefore lets flies in. read more

Well if you like good customer service this is not your place. Over 2 hours late for the first appointment "I've should have known" but, gave them the benefit of the doubt and let them try again. They didn't show up to install, but called hours after appointment time. I asked if he would be here the next day he said he would but, NO SHOW AGAIN! I called the office and they stated he could not make it, but might be able to come a few days later?? OK Clearview my time waiting around is not important, but yours certainly is... I asked to speak to Dan who is who I was referred to from his friend, but left several messages for him which he never returned because I wanted to explain why I was going somewhere else. What a great company from setting the appointment to the completed installation. Let me give you a little insight on our dilemma of choosing the best screen door for our needs. We basically wanted a screen door that would allow us to leave the front door opened to get air and prevent insects from flying inside. Believe me, we did our due diligence. We looked at the iron security gates and read about them as well as retractable screen doors. We decided to rule out the iron security door because our view outside would be blocked by lots of metal. We preferred to have a clear view of the outdoors while watching TV. The next choice was which retractable screen door and or company would work best for us. We did our research online narrowed it down to two companies. Phantom Screen doors and ClearView Retractable screen doors. I first reached out to phantom I was impressed by their website however their willingness to accommodate their potential customer schedule was the deal breaker. I am a very busy person with not much flexibility in my schedule. I understand the companies main office are open Mon-Fri but they do installation on the weekends. Unfortunately, I was told by Kim that the installer was not working this coming weekend or the following weekend. I would have to wait more than two weekends if I went through them. She said she reached out to the boss to inquire if he'd be willing to let the installer work his 6th day which would be OT to take on my job and accommodate my schedule? When I called her back she said his answer to her was no the installer could not work the OT. I said ok thanks for trying and then called ClearView. I spoke with Sara in the office then Doug. I explained to Doug I wanted an 8 ft retractable screen for my front door and the timeframe I was only available to have it installed. He listened then expressed that he really would like to help me make it happen on my availability. He said he'd be at my home Saturday at 9:00. He arrived on time as planned however, due to the structure of my door frame he would need a little longer screen frame. Doug was fantastic he clearly explained why the frame he brought would not work and he wanted to make sure we get only the best fit. I agreed to change my schedule to be available the following weekend. We were so pleased with our first impression of Doug and the ClearView company we decided to ask him to also make a screen door for our side entrance door as well and install at the same time. I gave him the pictures and dimensions via text. He arrived today had both screen doors installed within two 1/2 hours. They look simply fantastic!! Doug did a nice clean installation. I can honestly say based on my experience I highly recommend Doug and ClearView screens over phantom because meeting their customer schedule is important to them. BTW, another reason I'm truly pleased with our choice to go with ClearView is because some screen companies use a spring to retract the screen into the housing. ClearView is different they patent their own slow close on their retractable screens. The slow close would prevent our grandchildren fingers from getting possibly smashed. We've had our retractable screens on the front and back doors for several months now. They're tough - we had one big guy basically crash through one and it easily fit back into the frame. We ordered a custom screen here for our back yard. Our yard goes right up to our neighbors and we love to eat outdoors and wanted more privacy. Clearview installed a huge 12 foot by 16 foot retractable screen for us, that we can control with a remote, which is just so incredible. All our friends comment on how great it is when they see it, and how they have never seen anything like it before. Clearview was so professional and through, and made sure we were absolutely 100% happy. I would definitely recommend them, and not only is their product superior but their prices are great too. Hello everyone, this is a warning to all of you potential Clearview customers. Do not purchase from this company for the following reasons. For one they are OVERLY priced for a sleek and simple retractable door design, which should cost $50 dollars tops but will run you nearly $400. My family had the bad experience to be the victim of a bad oversell. Clearview promises ease, safety, and a limited warranty. Let me tell you that these inferior screens allowed my home to be burglarized. All the intruders needed was an exacto knife to gain entry to my home where some members of my family was present to experience such a horrible and frightening situation. For the nearly $400 DOLLARS I spent on a screen door I could have got a more durable door to keep from being burglarized. The police even mentioned to me that these screen doors invite crime. One should be safe if you live in a gated community, but that would be living beyond my means. When I called Clearview to have the screen replaced they said I would have to pay money to fix the screen since the damage was NOT covered under their limited warranty. So I just hung up on the person for being non-understanding. Spend your hard earned money at Home Depot to buy a better made door for your families sake. Take it from me and the advice of the police...do not buy their product or your home will likely be a target for burglary. Buyer beware. Clearview will offer your home a clear view for burglary. read more

The idea is great. perfect for the exterior installation, not so sure for interior: would be much more conspicuous. Construction is good and sound. Screen material is pretty durable: several times people run into the closed screen and no tears yet. I would say they still have a room for improvement in terms of how the whole thing looks: option of the square minimalist housing would be great, a few other things and they would be perfect! Installation was good: fast, careful with our stuff. Service department also have room for improvement: near immediate response on first call, then few weeks of not returning my calls when it was time to install. Although, as far as I understand they are pretty small company, so stuff happens. They were pretty flexible and responsive overall, so no problem: 4 stars! read more

I am absolutely thrilled with our new screens ! We had them installed at the front door and our sliding patio door . We have a decorative front door and it doesn't take away from the front door at all . Both screens are nearly invisible. The installation was so quick and the whole process working with this company was seamless. Doug Fields was amazing to work with as well as our installer whose name escapes me.
