Mitch Pool installed the blinds in my house 10 years ago and I requested his help to get a new set of blinds after I installed the new windows. He saved me a lot of money because he figured out a way to use the original blinders with a bit of modification. My wife and I are very happy with his work and would recommend him for any types of blinds you need. He is very friendly. Thank you Mitch. read more

Mitch came highly recommended to us by our friends who have all used his services. He's so friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. His prices are extremely fair. He doesn't have all these extra designers and project managers and phone operators on his payroll, so he is able to have extremely competitive prices as opposed to all those other places who up-charge in order to pay all of the employees. He even does all the installation himself. He's very trustworthy as well. He helped us install amazing shutters that fit our style in every room of the house and gave so many great suggestions. He works so clean and efficiently. He measured everything flawlessly as everything looks great. Our specialty shutter took a long time to arrive but that is not his fault as we are in a pandemic and everything takes forever to produce and ship. PS. Mitch also takes the pandemic very seriously which is a must these days. Thank you for your stellar work! read more

Not responsive and not reliable. So, we pulled the plug and went with someone else. I would rather pay more than deal with someone who never responds. Also, way too much talking and way too many unnecessary stories when people are busy and working during the day. I'm sure Mitch is great with some projects that are maybe of more value to him, but that didn't appear to be the case for us! read more

Mitch has the best blinds in town and we got the dual shade blinds installed which have added so much character to the house . Mitch is amazing and very professional and friendly . Cant recommend him enough read more

Mitch is the consummate professional and everything we were looking for when deciding on what company to have do our shutters. He knows his product with no sales pitch, just information. His meticulousness on the installation makes him a true craftsman as far as we are concerned. Will recommend him continuously. Mahalo Mitch. read more

Mitch did a great job installing our blinds as well as letting us know of all of the options available. The price was competitive and he was a professional through and through. We can't recommend him enough! read more

4 years ago, we did a bath remodel, ceiling removal, and finally got rid of those horrid drapes, left by the previous owners. Mitch responded, where others (typical for the Bay Area) didn't. He made a couple of trips out, arms full of samples, detailed explanation of every product. We ended up with Hunter Douglas day/night shades in the master bedroom, an assortment of other brands/styles in family room, kitchen. Very reasonable pricing, especially considering Mitch's time for multiple trips & installation. Which, BTW, 3 room were completed, in 3 hours. All's great for 4 years. Nary a hick up, mishap, or buyer's remorse. All functioned as Mitch promised. Ooops. 4 years in, the Hunter Douglas shades (which I find out have been re-engineered) failed. Despite Mitch's full booking, he made time to get out within days. Brief discussion of the mode of failure, operation, etc. "No problem". Mitch called Hunter Douglas as we stood there. New units on their way, as I write this review, 20 minutes after Mitch went off to his next customer. (I expected and would have volunteered 4 years of prorated cost for the replacement units. Nope, warrantied.) I'm certain, as Mitch/Hunter Douglas promised, our brand new units will be up and working in ~10 days. Now a response to other reviewers. Let me ask those critical reviewers if your employer had the same expections of you, that you put on Mitch, how long would you last in your job? How would you like the word "unprofessional" in your review, carried from employer to employer, just because you had a bad moment at your desk? What counts is the finished job. Ergo, my 5*. read more

This review is way overdue as I had my blinds installed September 2012. Mitch came over to give me a free quote and was very professional in all his work. Explained everything to me very clearly and gave me lots of choices to choose from. I have a very obscure looking large window which is sort of in the shape of a trapezoid (hard to explain). Mitch was able to get me blinds to cover every part of that window which helps a lot in keeping my house cool and eliminating the blinding sun in the mornings. Had to get the blinds adjusted once and Mitch was happy to come over and do it. Highly recommend Mitch and Better Blinds for anyone who needs custom blinds installed for their windows. read more

Mitch is a super friendly, knowledgable guy. His prices are reasonable and he gets the job done quickly and gets it done right. He installed blinds for my kitchen window and two sliding glass doors. total came out to just over $400, including labor. I'm not a blinds expert but from my research, his prices were cheapest. I'd definitely use him again for future windows/blinds needs. read more

Great service ,great advice from start to finish great patience as never rushed me to pick a blind and doubled check to make sure I was happy with my choice and the fitter was very polite and very clean would highly recommend better blinds for anyone looking to get blinds read more

Mitch was very helpful and seemed great in the consultation, helping me to find the right products for my windows and not pushy at all. I was grateful for this after a very "hard-sell" sales experience with Danmer. However, he said he would email me the prices that day, and then weeks passed (even with my contacting him to remind him). He finally emailed me a total price instead of the itemized list that I asked for. More weeks and emails passed before I got what I asked for. The only reason I didn't find someone else sooner was I had invested so much time at the consultation, but after the long delays I did not have faith that the installation process would be any more efficient, so I ultimately decided to use another company. I was very disappointed as this ended up to be a waste of the afternoon I spent in the consultation and it resulted in delaying my window project by about a month. I expressed my disappointment to Mitch by email and he explained the circumstances causing the delays, and said this was a rare occurrence, however I still felt it important to share my experiences with other prospective customers. read more

Unprofessional as far as not returning my phone calls on a timely manner. He did a decent job at installing shutters, but He dragged mud & dirt onto my carpet when he came in to do the installation. read more

Mitch from Better Blinds just installed 6 blinds in my house! He was very fast and personable when installing the blinds. I received quotes from 2 other companies and Mitch was definitely the best priced. I am going to use Mitch to also install 2 plantation shutters in a week or so. I would definitely recommend using Mitch! read more

After reading the other great reviews we decided to give Better Blinds a call. Mitch, the owner, is very friendly and was patient with us since it took a couple appointments for us to decide what we wanted. Because he doesn't have a showroom, he'll bring all his samples to your home so you don't have to guess how it will look. Once our coverings arrived, we scheduled a time that worked for us to do the installation. The process took a bit more time than we hoped but we're very happy with the end results. We recommend calling him before you make any buying decision. read more

Mitch did an excellent job installing our plantation shutters from start to finish! Best price too (and we compared three).

Mitch at Better Blinds did excellent work for me. He custom ordered my blinds and the fitting was perfect. The price was very resonable and well worth it with the added energy savings my new blinds are quickely returning my investment. I especially love my skylight shade that opens and closes by using a telescoping hook. I highly recomend using the services of Mitch at Better Blinds. read more

My husband and I had Better Blinds install vertical blinds and they look and function great! Because Mitch did such a great job with those, I also ordered the honeycomb cell blinds for the living room and kitchen windows that face the street. These top down blinds are perfect for viewing the sky while allowing for inside privacy as well. Mitch is patient and thorough and does excellent work. Highly recommend! read more

I gave Mitch Pool of Better Blinds FIVE STARS two years ago when he helped me to pick out and install the shades for my new townhouse. I'm giving him FIVE STARS again for outstanding customer service. I had a problem with one of the cords on a shade and called Mitch. He was in the neighborhood and came out that afternoon to pick up my shade and send it back to the manufacturer for repair. When it came back, he came out the next day and reinstalled it. He spent additional time adjusting it so that it worked and looked perfectly. I highly recommend Mitch and Better Blinds for excellent sales AND service. read more

We hired Mitch to install blindes in our house. It was the best decision we made. He is so professional and he patiently spent time with us when we were unable to decide whether we wanted to go with white blindes or not. He was very confident that white blinds will be the best suited to our house. He was right. We are now enjoying our house with great ventation as he mentioned. He is so passionate in what he does. You can hire him and just forget about the job, he will take care of everything from installation to Removal of old blinds, dust, etc. I highly recommend him. read more

Very happy with our blinds. I am still waiting for our shutters for my son's room but the black out blinds and other blinds for our kitchen are beautiful and very functional. Very competitive pricing and nice guy read more

We have worked with Better Blinds twice (three times if you count the shades he provided to my mom). Mitch is patient, thorough and knowledgeable. Before I met Mitch, I had an appointment with another window covering company and had a terrible experience. I felt really pressured by the salesperson (plus he was wearing way too much cologne). Better Blinds installed faux wood plantation shutters, honeycomb shades and roman shades. We've had them for at least two years and we're still very happy. read more

Mitch from Better Blinds is a really friendly guy. He does an excellent job and his prices are better than other companies. I did have an experience where he was late in delivering the plantation shutters that I had ordered. It turned out to be the manufacturer who delayed the delivery and Mitch kept in contact with me to let me know what was happening. Recently I had a problem with my roman shades. I was hoping he could come over and check it out before the holidays. Even though we were emailing back and forth for a couple of weeks he did do as he said and was at my house 2 days before Christmas. He had a problem getting a ladder long enough to reach my window. Overall. he does an excellent job and I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy window coverings. read more

Seemed like a good company but they came for consultation and everything seemed good. . Then they disappeared and I don't know where they went. Never received quote or call back. read more

Very unprofessional company. I take time off work for a scheduled consultation with these guys and they never show up or call to apologize. I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

So happy we found Mitch with Better Blinds! He is friendly, patient (I never felt rushed and I can take awhile to make decisions), and helpful (gave us several options and offered great solutions). He also notices the little details which I really appreciate--makes all the difference in a clean, crisp finish. His prices are also very competitive. Our window coverings look wonderful and are very functional (blocking afternoon sun and providing us with more privacy). He made sure I fully understood how to care for them and took extra time to answer questions at the end of the installation. He definitely goes the extra mile--a rare find these days! read more

We were very pleased with the experience we had with Mitch. He was patient, helpful and personable during the process of selecting our shutters and blinds. And having him in our home during the installation process was great - we have two small children and Mitch worked around our schedule for naps and was easy to have around. Most importantly - we LOVE our new blinds. Would definitely call Mitch whenever we need blinds or shutters in the future. read more

We were very pleased with our experience with Mitch. He is professional, goes the extra mile to help and very friendly. He did a wonderful job helping us pick and installing our vertical and horizontal blinds in our home. We were impressed with how quick he got the work done and especially thankful for all the extra tips he shared with us in regards to maintaining the blinds and most importantly safety with our little ones and the blind cords. We would happily recommend Mitch to anyone looking for blinds. read more

Mitch might be a nice guy, but professional he is not. He spent a long long time at my house, to the point I just wanted him to leave already and he doesn't take hints well. And then, after all that, he never sent me a quote! I called a week later to inquire, and he seemed shocked that he hadn't sent the quote. And guess what, I still haven't received one! Think there are better options out there. read more
