Tom and his crew installed a black shade sail over my koi pond yesterday, and I could not be more pleased with the results! I had been concerned about the pond getting too much sun and also wanted to add some protection from flying predators. While certainly not inexpensive, I feel the shade sail is worth every penny. Once the shade sail was up, I couldn't get over the difference it made to the look of the pond, not to mention the fact that it cuts 90% of the hot afternoon sun that used to stream through my living room windows, which overlook the pond - just great!! Ordered valance houndstoith style but it came with just a straight style, but still ok Forgot to give me hand crank to use if piwer us out but did bring to me 3 weeks later but did not show me how it works, Ugh. Found a very small drilled hole in my stucco. Tom said not caused by them which I sort of agree but wasn't there before. Installers speak very little English but are very nice. Left a mess (metal and plastic pieces) on my patio. Overall a good job though. read more

We had a very positive experience with Tom Awning. We were looking to put a canvas roof over an existing pergola we had as we wanted to be able to use the outdoor kitchen area if it was raining. One awning had cracks on both ends and one awning came with ugly seams. Tom quoted me a a fair price and told me that all metal would be painted and that no cracks or seams would be done. Was he right! The awnings are beautiful, smooth with painted metal and hold up to 100 mph winds. He also replaced a yucky plastic roller shade with the same color high quality material. Tom Awning installed a retractable awning 12x12 in my house on the deck BUT the awning is useless because its not able to block the sun. He charged excessively to merely mount the awning on a beam on my deck which is way less costly than installing on the walls. A respectable awning expert would determine if installing the awning on a deck would in fact block the sun and would advise the customer properly. Tom is refusing to take back this awning which i am very disappointed with. We have had numerous problems with this with the arms dangling twice and very bad installation which is damaging my deck. I had some experts come and take a look and they pointed to several issues with the installation. When i operate it, it sounds like a train and makes a clanking noise.
