She knows I'm on a budget and helps me formulate a care plan. She and her staff are very conscientious of my dental phobia and always make sure I'm comfortable and know what's going on. I stopped coming last year after the practice dropped my Delta Dental insurance. I recently decided to give them another try because I now have dental insurance through Cigna. Before my most recent appointment, I sent my insurance information in advance by email and also confirmed it by phone. The office booked the appointment with no mention of any issues. I drove there, took time out of my day, and once I was already sitting in the chair, I was told that the practice had dropped all insurance and asked if I wanted to proceed, pay out of pocket, and then personally deal with whatever reimbursement my insurance might or might not provide later. This conversation happened with a dental hygienist, not an office administrator, despite the practice having administrative staff, and it was extremely uncomfortable. It felt inappropriate for a clinical provider to be put in the position of handling a billing and insurance issue. I declined and left, having wasted time commuting and attending an appointment that should never have been booked under these circumstances. This same situation has happened to me before and is exactly why I stopped going previously. What is most concerning is that all responsibility is placed on the patient. You are expected to manage insurance reimbursement yourself, the practice takes no accountability, and they reserve the right to charge whatever they choose, often well above standard ADA fee guidelines. There was also no follow-up of any kind from the office after the visit. No courtesy call, no acknowledgment, and no attempt to address the situation, which further reinforced the lack of professionalism. The office is beautiful and the staff is welcoming, but the lack of upfront communication, pricing transparency, and professional handling of insurance matters feels misleading. I am sharing this so others are aware and can ask very direct questions before booking, especially if insurance coverage matters to you.

She first showed me around the clinic and introduced me to the dentist via pictures and handed me a welcome gift. The way she communicated was amazingly clear and the way she translated my findings to the Dentis was to the tee. My Dentist was Dr. Carlson. I must be getting old because she seemed so young lol. All together I am happy to say that I found a new dentist. the only feedback I have is with the high cost of getting things done I was offered a plan to break up the cost, but I think it was more like a credit card of some sort. She did say she would not pull my credit and that if she did it would be a soft pull but not until I looked up the payment plan. Of course I declined it immediately since the interest rate was 33%. I think they need to offer better options like my old dentist. They offer to break up the plan without having to apply for credit. But, everything was very satisfactory. I am glad to have found a nice, clean, modern and friendly dentist.

As I've had many many bad experiences at the dental office, I started using Dr. Barry and his staff because I really needed gas during my cleanings to relax. I also have very sensitive gums. There were always very accommodating and said that they wanted their customers to be comfortable and that they would provide it complementary. About six months ago when I came in, without notice, they told me that it was no longer complementary. They were able to provide it for that appointment but told me I needed to talk to Dr. Barry about future appointments. When I spoke to him, he told me it was because a lot of people "come in to just get high". I was shocked. I looked at him and said do I look like that kind of a person? You know about my Dental anxiety. After the appointment the agreement was he would provide it one more time and then we would discuss further. On my next appointment, they started the nitrous as usual, but when she started to clean my teeth, it was apparent that the nitrous wasn't working and I asked her to turn it up. She said she couldn't turn it up any further that it was the highest it could be. When I asked her just to give me a couple more minutes to breathe it in and get relaxed, she gave me about 30 seconds and then said " i'm being told I have to get started now". What? It was ridiculous. You can't even give me two minutes to be able to get relaxed in your dental office. When I was making my next appointment I told her that I wasn't comfortable with the way she talked to me and that I wouldn't be back. Then I receive a letter in the mail saying that they were unable to maintain their standards so I was no longer welcome there. I have very good insurance and I was a good patient. But there are many dental offices and so I'm happy to move closer to home. Just beware.
