He would have come over right away but it was raining out so he came out the very next morning. Not just prompt but early. He even had the courtesy to call to let me know he was on his way. After the wash, i was surprised to see someone else besides the normal "towel-lers" helping to dry my car. It was Shawn who pointed out a small crack on the driver's side of my windshield. I remember the day it happened. A @#$@#$% truck on the ICC passed me (where were the darn cops then? ahhh...catching other speeders, I guess?) and I saw the stone literally come up and WHACK. I practically forgot about it, until Shawn pointed it out to me and said he could fix it within 15 min. He called the insurance company and passed the phone to me, all while he was getting right to work. The summary? By the time I got off the phone, he was done and I was happy. I think the reviewer before doesn't understand that it isn't meant to be a perfect fix, rather to protect the windshield crack from getting worse and expanding, thereby saving you and the insurance company from having to replace the whole windshield. Overall, Shawn was very respectful and ingenious in working out a deal with Flagship where he helps them out, and he gets to provide a service without taking any extra time out of my life to get something that you KNOW that you need to get fixed, but keep putting off...... Time was of the essence because I was only in MD Saturday-Sunday. I called Nu-Pro because they had great Yelp feedback and said they were open on Sunday. Not sure where the disconnect was, but I called them twice on Sunday AM and no one answered. I left two messages and never heard back. So, now it was after 10 AM and the time crunch was getting more pressing. I went back to the internet and found DMV Auto Glass, also open on Sundays. I called and Gary, the owner answered, confirmed they had what I needed in stock and they said they could do it the same day. The price was nearly half of what I was quoted online by Safelite and they don't even work Sundays. Didn't have much of a choice and decided to give it a shot. Glad I found them! He said he could make it out between two and three and would give me a ring to let me know when he was on his way. Phone rang around 1 and he was there before 2. Really nice guy and professional. He was upfront that he'd try and save the seal, but can't promise that it would work and that it would be another $20 if it wasn't possible. As it turned out, the seal did need to be replaced, but the job was done well, fast, at my location and at the exact price quoted. He took credit cards remotely via iphone which sends an automatic receipt which was nice as well. Highly recommended.

Terrible business. Avoid at all costs…read more I had some paint discoloration on my front bumper and passenger side door. This person had me park in a random apartment parking lot where he attempted to complete the work to fix the discoloration. He did not have any professional equipment. He attempted to use a touch-up paint spray can to fix the paint discoloration (as opposed to a spray gun) When he applied the spray paint, it dripped everywhere and was extremely discolored. When I told him that I wasn't happy with the job he said to "just wait" and that the paint would "blend in" as it dried. After an awkward 10 minutes of waiting for the paint to dry, it was evident that the problem would not go away and the discoloration and paint drip that he made from the spray can (which was worse than the original paint discoloration). When I told him that the work was not acceptable, he told me to just "pay for the supplies" and then asked over and over again for $75 (which is what he claims the spray can touch up paint cost). I should emphasize here that the job looked absolutely terrible, worse than It was originally and he asked for the original payment we agreed on, and after I said no he pressured me to just pay for the materials. I told him no and that he had to fix the problem he made on both the front and the side. He attempted to fix both. He removed the paint job he did from both the front and the side door. The front paint fix looked a little better after he struggled to get the paint to not drip and blend in but even the second time he attempted to fix the front the paint still dripped down but the paint blend was better (shown in the pictures of the front). He also attempted to fix the side door which he had damaged with the dripping and discoloured paint. It did not work and (after running out of paint from the spray can he had) he gave up (shown in the pictures of the side door). At this point, he asked again that I pay him what we had agreed on for the job. When I pointed out that the paint job he had completed looked terrible he again told me to "just let it dry" as it would look fine after it dried (the pictures shown are 24 hours after he "completed" the job) When I refused, he got visibly and audibly angry and agitated. I told him that I would not be paying until he fixed it. We then sat in this random car park he had made me come to and argued for 20 minutes about payment. He pulled out every sob story there is. He told me that he had no money to feed his kids, showed me pictures of his kids, had me take a picture of his license, told me that he lived at the apartment blocks (which I later found out he did not), told me that he has no family/friends to help out with money, told me that he had other customers waiting for him, told me that I was the only customer for that day, told me that his kids would starve that night, told me that he had no money to pay his babysitter for the kids, told me that his parents had just died. Also told me that he just drives around all day looking for people to ask to fix their cars and that because he hadn't found any for that day that I was robbing his kids of food. Throughout this whole encounter, he kept telling me that if there was an issue with the job (which there obviously was throughout) then he would come and fix it at no expense. When I eventually called him on his bluff and said that I would go and get food for his kids and drop it off to them he said that he would come back in two days and fix the job and that he would be expecting full payment upon his return in two days. He seems like a nice guy but does not have any of the equipment required to do bodywork and clearly doesn't know what he is doing. He lied to me multiple times and tried to scam me / take advantage of me. Avoid at all costs.

I had an issue with my 2012 Toyota Camry that another mechanic could not troubleshoot. The other mechanic wanted to charge me $95 an hour to "figure it out". I was referred to J & B, made an appointment, and within 15 minutes of walking through the door Marvin had already figured out what the problem was. I didn't have to leave my car there and get a ride home because once diagnosed, they fixed my car on the spot. Actually, they saved me about $4,000 by catching something that would have easily turned into a much bigger problem. I am going back to have my rotors and break pads done as well: )
