Any NYC parent would be better served buying a Kaplan or Tutorverse book online (or live as tutors) than using Ibid. I would not recommend Ibid for SHSAT or any test.

Not only did he help him raise his grades but also helped him enjoy studying and learning more. Since he started tutoring my brother, it also helped my brother gain more confidence in his own intelligence and work. My brother has taken on numerous AP classes and has done well on this SATs and ACTs. Talha is extremely comprehensive with all his lessons and very communicative with us. I also have a crazy hectic schedule as I work full time and am also going back to school. Nightmare client. I've never needed/gotten tutoring before so I was pretty skeptical but reached out anyway. Andrew connected me with Amy and she helped me catch up and pass the class. When I moved on to Calculus 2, I thought I might go it alone but quickly realized I couldn't hack it without help. I reached out again and worked with someone new, Teresa. She helped me go from failing the class to getting an A! Without the help of this group there's no way this could've been possible. I'm hugely in their debt. Both tutors were incredibly kind, patient, responsive, flexible and most of all, helpful. Andrew also is always kind and lightning fast responsive, exactly what you need when you're in a pinch. We worked together online using Skype and a great little whiteboarding app called Ziteboard. I was skeptical of that too, but it worked SO well and made scheduling so much easier! You pay for classes in a chunk but they practically instantly refund whatever you don't need. Cannot say enough nice things about Idea Tutors. Thank you!!

He followed up every session with a detailed evaluation, which he sent the next day. Our son received an 800 on the math section, and 690 on the verbal. And, most important, he was admitted, early decision, to the college he most wanted to attend. The standardized testing regime is awful, biased, and a rip off. But, until it withers and dies off, places like Competitive Edge Tutoring are very helpful in getting through it.

We used Competitive Edge tutoring for both our daughters' ACTs and SAT 2s.  We had previously…read moreworked with a different agency but found their tutors abilities inconsistent.  With Competitive Edge, we found Alex was very responsive and supportive in all of our dealings and his tutors were consistently strong, had good materials to share, and always added value. The tutors sent us detailed summaries of the sessions, the areas needing work, and the next steps immediately after every session to help keep us in the loop. Megan helped my younger daughter for both the ACT and Spanish SAT 2 and we found her help invaluable.  We even recommended her to other family members. Her final ACT score was 35. My older daughter used Liz and Dimitri for the ACT and Willis for Spanish. Working with Competitive Edge my daughter's score rose from a 28 on the pre ACT (scale is 1 - 35) to a 35 on the actual ACT (scale is 1 - 36).

My son immediately grew attached and I often heard laughter coming from his room during sessions. He does give a lot of homework, however, we are grateful as long gone are the days when Kaplan or Princeton classes en masse were sufficient.
