I've seen her sitting inside while her husband does the planting and weeding. She said yes they volunteer to keep it nice. I told her it is noticeable. I enjoy visiting and watching the small birds at play in the garden. This school is very fortunate to have community that cares for the grounds. They should be acknowledged for their hard work!! Not a bad facility-basically what you'd expect from a school hall built 50+ years ago-wood seats, tile floors etc. The staff has been helpful, they have AV capabilities, which is phenomenal (think presentation screen, audio throughout, etc). We don't use a lot of the stage lighting, but they do have it, and their are bathrooms directly outside of the auditorium. Last but not least-it's easy access, as it is right by the entrance to the school.

My child was constantly getting removed from classes and we were being told she couldn't sit still in a Montessori which was odd. We kept having constant meetings about him and it just became overwhelming for her and our family. We eventually had to remove her from the school and go into public. The teachers are lovely but are not trained to deal with all types of children which is sad. We also had all services in place for her and with that they still needed help to handle a 1st grader. My best decision was to remove her from a school that kept correcting everything about her.

I came to this location to vote during election time. They were gracious and the premises were always clean. Since I moved from the vicinity I heard of some disturbing incidents. That was a couple years ago. I'm not concerned because even prestigious academy's have had incidents not far from here. PS 169 tightened control and security since then. Very creative "out of the box" activities for kids, like a Polar Express day in the winter and an egg hunt with the Easter bunny in the spring. Fantastic new director who has motivated the school and brought fresh ideas. For example, there is now a developmental therapist and a child psychologist on call with retake programming for parents (eg how to discipline, sleep training, etc). The art program Is best in class - This year they instituted "night of art" with a local museum curator, wine, and walls of art made by the kids.
