I just had 2 small cavities taken care of yesterday and I went in there with such ease knowing I was in good hands based on my previous experience with Dr. Akkari. Once again, the whole process was completely pain free and I was out of there in less than an hour (the procedure itself was at most 15 minutes). Also, I cant understand why there are a few negative reviews about their receptionists. Rita has always been super sweet & I can't remember the other ladies name but they have always been super polite and helpful with scheduling, rescheduling, checking in & helping me get a referral to an oral surgeon. And as always, his dental assistants are kind & gentle as well.

Because of past dental trauma, I hadn't been to a dentist since 2020. I called several offices that morning, but Nora was the first person to answer. Her kindness immediately put me at ease, and she got me scheduled quickly. That same warmth greeted me when I walked through the door. Then I met Kayla, who was an absolute Godsend. I came in already struggling with a cane and boot from an ankle injury, and we connected over her own experience with an injury. She explained everything before doing it and was incredibly gentle with my photos and X-rays. But what meant the most was her compassion. When I became emotional about the years of damage to my teeth, she handed me tissues, reminded me to breathe and told me, "one step at a time." I never once felt judged. I felt safe. Vanessa, my hygienist, was incredibly kind, informative and compassionate. Dr. Kim took his time explaining what was happening, what could be fixed and all of my options. When I asked for his personal advice, he explained how each option could affect me long-term, which helped calm so much of my anxiety. Finally, Letty walked me through my treatment plan and finances. Instead of just handing me a huge number, she broke everything down, helped me prioritize what was most urgent and discussed ways to make treatment manageable. When I wasn't approved for enough financing and felt defeated, she suggested looking into individual dental insurance--giving me another option and hope instead of making me feel like the conversation was over. I didn't even have dental work done that day--this 5-star review is based entirely on the exceptional care I received during my exam. From Nora answering my frightened phone call, to Kayla helping me through my anxiety, Vanessa educating me, Dr. Kim explaining my options and Letty helping me find a path forward, I felt cared for at every single step. I walked in fearful, stressed and overwhelmed. I walked out feeling relaxed, understood, seen and heard. LONNNNG REVIEW, LONNNNG OVERDUE…read more First of all, I have to say that I should have written this review probably more than a year ago. I blame ADHD. The truth is, I absolutely LOVE Dr. Yar. He and his staff are all so very kind, gentle, have delightful senses of humor, and they were very quick to make me feel so comfortable in their care. Every appointment, even the painful ones, have had me leaving quite contentedly and in a great mood. Most importantly, Dr. Yar has transformed my smile in a way that I had only dreamed of, for years, and never ever thought possible. I was an extreme case to begin with. My family has a genetic condition that had plagued me and left me a depressed, and extremely self conscious about my smile for my entire life. I would hide my teeth in social settings, and photos, trying hard to ONLY give that closed-mouth Mona Lisa smile while everyone else smiled widely and openly. I worried what people thought when I had accidentally smiled too big, and my teeth were shown. When I laughed, I used to cover my mouth, just in case. It was so bad, that I was often bullied about my teeth. People can be so cruel, sometimes, ya know? There were also plenty of times that I had cried from the pain that my breaking teeth had caused throughout the years. It got so bad at times, I would often tell my loved ones that I would choose to go through childbirth again, rather than experiencing this pain. Before I met with Dr. Yar, I had been to another dentist that pulled all of my upper teeth and gave me a top denture. I was desperate for the pain to be relieved, and I had hoped that in the end, I would be able to smile again. Alas, the appliance I ended up receiving was horribly designed! The teeth were tiny, misshapen, and didn't even let me eat properly. I was told this was the best they could do for me, and I tried so hard to be thankful, to be happy just to not have my natural upper teeth causing me the pain issues anymore... but the confidence I had hoped to gain, never came. I didn't think I would have the chance to fix what had been done. I solemnly accepted my fate for years. Until the time came that I needed my (still natural) lower teeth to also be pulled, and get a bottom denture. Of course I was not going to go back to the previous dentist that had not been able to deliver the standard I needed, which lead me to search for someone to help me achieve what I really wanted all along. Dr. Yar designed a plan for me that changed everything. Yes, he took away the pain, but what I didn't expect was how happy I would be in the end. He gave me an "all on four" implant supported lower denture, and a completely new upper denture. Admittedly, It cost a lot of money, but I knew that this was highly important to me. Guess what? No more pain. No more fear of showing my smile. I say this without any bit of exaggeration: My life has been changed. I get compliments now, for the first time ever, about how beautiful my smile is. I don't shy away from laughing without covering my mouth. I eat without worrying that I am going to suddenly be in excruciating pain, and I can look in the mirror without hating to see my smile now. Thank you, Dr. Yar. Thank you for everything you've done for me. Thank you to all of your staff as well. I am so grateful to have been able to trust you. If I could have seen you before I went to that first dentist, I would have! Be Aware-Money Greedy!…read more I wish I can give this place a zero star, this is a dental office that are only after your money! Unfortunately, they are listed under my dental insurance plan (Liberty Dental) called them, set an appointment for X-ray and cleaning. The dental assistance took full mouth x-rays, and here came the dentist to preach me that my teeth need alignment, I asked the Doctor if I she means I need braces, she said no, it can be done with a plastic retainer that I have to put in my mouth that she calls "Invisalign", that is just a joke. She also wanted to take out a bridge that I have and put a new one, 3 crowns I have she wants to replace them. Woow, I went there to have just a regular cleaning, and here she is talking about work that will cost thousands of dollars. When she was done her lecture on me, I asked the assistance for a regular cleaning since it is covered by the insurance that I have, they refused to give me a simple regular dental cleaning, and they wanted me to do what they call "Deep Cleaning", and the cost of that is 4X$125, which is not covered by the insurance, they want the money from my pocket! that is $500! since as they claim it is done in 4 sections, and each section cost $125! worse than that is the deep cleaning is not done by the dentist; it is done by her assistance. I left the dental office and never ever I will go back there, they are just money hungry.
