I asked Yelp for a recommendation and Oahu Windows and Doors contacted me very quickly. They said they would send Nick, "our repair guy," out to take a look and give me an estimate on a repair. Nick arrived exactly at the appointed time, took a quick look (and listen) at my door and diagnosed the problem in a minute or two. Then, since the problem was a seal on the door, asked me if I simply wanted him to remove the seal to stop the sound, and gave me the pros and cons of doing so. I said yes and he removed the seal and put things back together. He gave me some tips on what to use to lubricate the door, as well as--if I ever wanted to replace the door--what I should look for and how to save money. So in February, I started my search for a window / screen cleaner.... Truthfully, I didn't know where to begin so I turned to Yelp. AND am I glad that I did. In case you didn't know the Yelp site will send your request to all listed in whatever you are looking for. But Terran stood out; far from the madding crowd....(and no, I'm not a lemming). Why did he stand out? Because 1. While I live in town, it's an arduous task driving to my home 2. My home is 65 years old; upkept but old none the less 3. My home sits on a slop so to ladder my windows you'd better be darn skiiled. 4. My windows and screens were not cleaned for a LONG time.... I'm embarresed to say. 5. Terran drove to my home to give me the estimate (he did this in February of this year) He gave me the estimate and that was that. and now seven months later, I call him and politely explain that its been at least seven months and I wanted him to check his estimate. Well, the answer I got was "same price" and the rest is history. The job was simply UNBELIEVABLE. I know he took a long time and I'm not certain if that was what he expected.
