Second time now that they have told me that my pants/shirt were damaged when I brought them in and they wouldn't clean them. Why didn't they mention that when I brought them in? Because they weren't damaged until they laundered the shirt and ran it through one of their machines and ripped the sleeve, in a perfect T. Not going back. I am done with them. I don't normally take the time to review but I should've listened to the bad reviews and so should you. Early this year, I took in a coat for cleaning as well as a blazer and some other jackets, mostly because it was a Sunday and it was a convenient location. I was a bit annoyed that they wouldn't let me take advantage of the shirt discount because I didn't have them with me but I figured I'd let it slide. The prices also seemed somewhat high but I didn't know what they were there so I just shook my head and dropped off the clothes. I came back to get my coat and it still smelled somewhat dirty, plus it was covered in lint, never mind that some clothes still weren't ready (more on that later) like they said they would be. I told the guy at the counter and he seemed like he couldn't care less, somewhat incredulous that I thought it should not be covered in lint. Still, he eventually did offer to take it back. I said it was freezing outside and I needed it, so I'd just have to live with it. I came back another day for the rest and Liz was at the counter; I mentioned how the price for a blazer had seemed high, and she said I was overcharged by $15. She also mentioned how I could've had the coat cleaned again, but still very apathetic, and said they could give me a $15 credit. I couldn't believe they couldn't give me a refund, but I wanted to get out of there already and just took it and left. I should've just left it at that but the story continues. I recently had some dry cleaning to do and figured I'd finally use the $15 credit. I took some clothes in on a Saturday and was told come back Monday. I come back and was told some pants still weren't ready, without even bothering with an excuse. I was annoyed and the only thing Liz had to say was, "oh do you live far"? They really don't care for your inconvenience. On Tuesday, my wife noticed her blouse was still stained, so I took the blouse back and came by again for the pants. Another woman was attending the counter, she went looking for the pants and could not find them. She tells me the other lady who would know went home already. I asked her to call the person but she couldn't get in touch, and the pants were nowhere to be found. She also tells me she'll have the blouse ready tomorrow and someone will give me a call about the pants (yeah right). So of course I have to call the next day and Liz says the pants are ready but the blouse is not... big surprise. They again promise a call the next day that never came. I let a day pass and then called again, finally everything was ready. I picked up the clothes and was so happy I'd never have to go there again. Avoid this place at all costs if you want dry cleaning done well, on time, or with good customer service. read more

Stay away!! I took a new blouse in that had a stain on it but had never been worn. They returned it with a tag on it that said "sorry this is the best that can be done without damaging the garment." When I looked at the blouse it already had been damaged where the stain was! There was a hole where the stain used to be! They claimed I brought it in damaged! If it was damaged before they worked on it, why would they hang that tag on??!! Since then the owner won't call me or even have a discussion about it. Every time I go in, they say someone will call. They also don't respond to emails. Terrible business practices! I cannot believe I put up with these guys for several years and gave them thousands of dollars. In more than one occassion, they have shown to me that they do not care about the customer. For the work they have done for me: their quality is so-so and their prices are high. Their customer service is rude and non-existent. Yesterday was the "straw that broke the camel's back" for me. Incident date: August 26th, 2012 afternoon. I showed them a shirt collar that they had destroyed and the counter person shrugged her shoulders and said that she would put in a "note". This had happened a couple of times before, and so I told her that I was more interested in the future washes, especially with some of my expensive shirts. She outright told me that she could not guarantee anything because their "factory" was in a different place. When I asked her why Frederick's would not be able to stand behind its own work, she sarcastically told me that I could not expect her to "accompany the laundry to the factory". I pointed out to her that as a customer who paid Fredericks hundreds of dollars a year, she was about to lose a reasonable customer. She just rolled her eyes. As a person who is typically loyal, I gave her one more opportunity to save the customer by saying "I am sorry, it was my mistake to have selected Fredericks". She said "Yes". There are 5 other dry cleaning shops within 1 mile of that area. I cannot believe these guys are still in business. read more

The Milford CT store is a joke! They entice you in with lower prices and then they nickel and dime you to death examining the fabric of everything or anything you bring in to charge you more. Worse of all--they DO NOT stand behind their cleaning and when they damage something--they WILL NOT REIMBURSE YOU! Instead, the unprofessional uneducated staff accuses you of bringing in damaged clothing. You can try and contact the owner and he will never return your calls. SHAME! read more

So after being told that one of our garments had been "lost" Mimi told me that I could get a credit for the shirt. After using them a few times and having other garments not properly cleaned I politely asked that we get reimbursed for the damaged shirt. Mimi told me to bring the receipt in the for shirt and that she would call me when she had a check. I have gone back once a week(because its on the way home) and excuse after excuse about why there is no check waiting for me. I feel robbed and they think there is nothing I can do about it. Well here is the review! I am going to continue to write bad reviews and I may even waste a hundred dollars on a local add balling them on how bad they are. RYE BROOK LOCATION IS A RIP OFF! I have been going to Fredericks for a few years now and never had a problem until recently. I work in the wedding business so I always have the same items dry cleaned more or less. Suits, dresses, coats, shirts, etc. I recently went in to have a dress dry cleaned that I have had done before. I went in and the girl gave me a ticket and on the ticket it stated $50 for the dress. I told her I think there was some mistake since I have been coming here for years and only pay about $10. I told her she can check my records and that I had the same dress dry cleaned in a different color a week ago and it is still in the bag. She told me that it does not show the item and I would have to pay. WHAT A RIP OFF! TRYING TO OVER CHARGE CUSTOMERS! Probably not the smartest idea since there is 4 other dry cleaners in about a .02 mile radius. read more

If zero stars was an option I would put that. Went in on a Wednesday with a suit that needed the hem fixed and dry cleaned. I was emphatic that I needed it by Friday am as it was my sons graduation...."no problem come Thursday evening we will have it done for you" were her words. Went in Friday am....no suit? Back and forth on the phone with the cleaning facility...no one could locate it. This went on for 1/2 an hour. Left and grabbed the clothes back that I was going to have cleaned there. I was not happy. They called me at about 2-3pm saying my suit was back at the location. I went in to pick it up. When I got home the suit, although it was wrapped up like it had been cleaned, was still dirty and had not been pressed. Unbelievable! Who does business like that...very underhanded and insulting. I called the next day and asked them "where they serious"?? Their response was for me to bring the suit back to have it cleaned. I don't know if my medical plan would cover me for a stroke so I passed. I said I wanted a refund and she told me only for the cleaning I would have to pay for the hem....whatever. Never going back and didn't even go for the refund. I don't need the stress... they can keep the $12 read more

They really suck at customer service. But clothes are clean. Prices are cheap but that goes along with the rest of its experience
