They have very convenient hours and service availability. I brought in a few items for dry cleaning…read moreand alterations, and I was able to be seen in less than 15 minutes. The dry cleaning items had a quick turnaround, just a day or so, while the alterations took about a week (which is also quick). Everyone who assisted me was friendly and attentive. The dry cleaning was competitively priced, but I did feel that the alterations were a bit high. I don't have much to compare with, other than evening gowns, but I was surprised that taking in the waist on a pair of pants was more expensive than those gowns in the past. The payment system was a bit confusing as well. I'll admit, I did not notice the signs inside the establishment that indicated "cash only," so that is my fault, but the electronic invoice that I was sent made it appear as though I could pay with card online. The website also does not have clear indication about payment types accepted. In a day and age when not many people carry cash or have paper checks anymore, this could be a drawback for people utilizing this business.

My wife and I got married 2 years ago and her wedding dress has still been hanging in our closet…read more After doing some research, I decided to check out Haute Hamper. I reached out to Haute Hamper on their website and got a call back from Scott after under an hour. He introduced himself, explained his process of dress cleaning and preservation, and gave me some preliminary pricing. We set up an appointment for pickup shortly thereafter; very painless process. About a day after the dress was picked up, he went through the pricing with me. I admit I was a bit nervous at first because of the stains that the dress had formed just from improper storage, but after he started the cleaning work, Scott was quickly able to clean the stains and got to work on the finer details. A few weeks later, we received the dress in a beautiful display box, perfectly clean and preserved. The whole process was incredibly positive and pain-free, and the price was very fair for the work he did. I also sent in 3 pairs of my favorite Cole Haan shoes to be resoled and cleaned, and his cobbler did an outstanding job. I highly recommend Haute Hamper to anyone who needs wedding gown preservation or shoe restoration services.

I dropped off my clothes for dry cleaning on Tuesday in preparation for an upcoming funeral. I was…read moreassured they would be ready by Saturday, as the wake and funeral were scheduled for Sunday and Monday. When I went to pick up my clothes on Saturday, they were not ready. I was told they were on the last delivery truck and would arrive by the end of the day. I was assured I would receive a call when they arrived. That call never came. I returned after the store's closing time and was told again that the clothes had not arrived and were still on the delivery truck. I was promised another call once they did arrive. This time, I received a call, but it was to inform me that the clothes were not on the delivery truck and would not arrive until Monday. The only explanation I was given was, "I'm not sure what happened." This was completely unacceptable given the circumstances. I had to scramble to purchase new clothes for the funeral, adding unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation. I was told I would be notified when the clothes were ready on Monday. (Not that it mattered - I was already out of state.) Unsurprisingly, I did not receive a call. Adding insult to injury, I was not offered any discount or compensation for this ordeal. Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

The last straw was when I brought my very expensive blouse in after going there a year and when I picked it up it had large spots all over it. He said there's no way that it was their fault. I said fine then why did you dry clean it when it looked like that. He said he doesn't have time to check everything before Cleaning or pressing it (admitting they don't check their work). All I asked for was my money back on the Cleaning as I could not prove he ruined my blouse. I'm like you should've never cleaned it if you saw it looking like that. He even argued with that and gave me a long lecture on the cost of chemicals and he still did the work and you don't go to a restaurant and eat and not pay. And kept blabbering with similar examples That he said that he has so much volume he does not have time to check everything. Well, excuse me I thought that when you're cleaning peoples clothes and charging a lot of money ( over $10 for a blouse). You should be looking for things like spots I nicely asked him to at a minimum refund what I paid for the dry cleaning. He offered me five dollars off the 65 bill on the clothes I was picking up and gave me another speech on paying for work done. He is one of the nastiest and most unpleasant business owners I've ever encountered in my many years.
