I've used Nu Trend for the past year or so for my dry cleaning needs, but for some reason never wrote them a review (it must have slipped through the cracks). That's all changing right now though... Last week I attended a concert at MSG and the person sitting behind me spilled barbecue sauce all over my winter coat...I mean, it was everywhere. I understand accidents happen, but this one stung. I love my winter coat; I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear it, and it wasn't cheap. I checked the label and saw it was dry-clean only, so I decided not to mess with any of the stains myself and bought it straight to Nu Trend the next morning. I kept my expectations low, and was mentally preparing to say goodbye to my coat - but lo and behold when I picked it up today it looked as good as new. They missed a small spot on the inner lining that I was able to get out with water, but besides that the stains were completely gone. I was shook, in a good way. That being said, I would definitely trust Nu Trend with not only my dry cleaning, but any sort of stain or specialty cleaning I need in the future. Thank you for saving my coat! =D read more

There are times I needed a quick fix when things don't go right. As I am trying to save whatever clothes that need improvement, I either took it upon myself to sort to mend it or head to a tailor/seamstress. I went a week ago to the seamstress to mend one leg of my pants and add a fastener so the hook won't come off of it. Then today, I returned with the ticket provided to me to pick up my pants and give the seamstress a sweater with a zipper missing a slider to be done and ready for pickup on Friday. I really have nothing else to say. Though it is actually cleaners, they can also mend clothes as well for an affordable price. I paid five for the leg mend and seven for the fastener. I normally don't leave bad reviews, but I just had 2 items altered here for $135 and I don't think they did half of what they were going to do. First was a jump suit that was to be taken in the entire length. You can tell it was only on the top it made it look even worse with a fitted top and obviously several sizes too big bottom. The 2nd was a suspender skirt also to be taken in, shortened, and modified so the straps didn't slip. It was taken in and shortened nicely, but the straps were only tacked, so the back metal loop did not move. The straps are still falling down and are too big. When I called to see if it was ready at the one week mark and they said that night. I think they just did it fast to get it out. So disappointing. If they needed more time, they should have said so. I needed this for a trip and now I'm on vacation with two outfits I really wanted to wear that look horrible. After I paid good money to have it fixed. I want to repeat I don't like leaving vad reviews but if you do use them make sure you pick it up at a time when Hou can try it on with them present because this is heartbreaking. read more

They WILL lose your clothes. On the back of your ticket the small print says they will only pay back 10x of the cleaning price! They are careless and will lose your clothes and refuse to reimburse you. I gave them suit pants to clean that were part of a $500 suit, they lost the pants and now won't even give $150. They overcharge & also i brought my school uniform to be altered i just needed the sides to be taken in a little. I have used there services before and have paid when i picked up my things. However, this time i dropped off my uniform, i left it with her for almost two weeks, came to pick it up and she informed me that she had not even started to work on it because i did not pay yet. She told me to give her a week and a half to do it and when i picked it up it had not even been worked on. She was charging $50 for one shirt and one pants to be barely taken in, i got it done somewhere else for $30. God works in mysterious ways. They have surely lost more than what they were scared to lose in the first place by not working on it until payment... read more

Horrible horrible experience! Never used them but was told by a friend about it so tried once. They don't give upfront price estimate. Was first told my silk jacket was lost then finally they found it. I was charged at $30 on a men's down jacket and $25 on lady. Ridiculously expensive. NOT Recommended at all! I will never go back to them again. read more

I brought in a number of dresses and suits to be dry cleaned. For most of the items they were detail oriented and left notes regarding a stain they couldn't remove and a button they re-sewed and I was pleased with the service. Then however, I removed very expensive dress from the plastic and WOW-- my dress had been torn into three separate pieces held on by mere threads. There was no note, or anything, and in fact they had safety pinned the ripped-off pieces of the dress to the hanger to make it less conspicuous. Everybody makes mistakes and that is fine. However, attempting to cover up mistakes to mislead customers is unacceptable. I am never going back. read more

My husband has used Nu trend cleaners for at least years for dry cleaning and tailoring. He even needed a suit tailored for a wedding shower and they were able to tailor it same day. It was not that expensive either. We paid up front for the tailoring so we weren't surprised with costs afterwards. Our friends have used them as well for all their dry cleaning and have had no problems. read more

I have used Nu Trend for eight months. They have greeted me by name from my second visit forward - the one time that my clothes weren't ready at the promised time the owner apologized twice. Everything I have taken to them was cleaned appropriately. I regret that I am leaving them behind as I move away to a new job. read more

The owner of the store is one of the rudest people I have ever had the misfortune to meet. Completely unreasonable and disrespectful. The company has a policy where it won't take debt/credit cards unless the value of the services surpasses $25.00. I forgot to bring cash the last time I went and the employee asked the owner to make an exception for me. I went there often for alternations and other dry cleaning services, this is how the owner responded "well you can either pay the $25.00 minimum or come back later when you have cash." The bill was for $12.00. Honestly, to save what .30 to .50 cents on the card transaction. I wouldn't have even minded had he just responded no. But his response and tone was so rude it offended even the most basic social graces. I do not recommend. Take your business elsewhere. read more
