We've been using Clean Air for a little over two months now, and I couldn't be happier. We initially hired them to do flowerbed cleanup and mulching in our yard, and they went above what we asked for at a reasonable price. We then brought them on to do our weekly lawn maintenance, and they have continued to do a stellar job. I've used a few lawn companies here in town, and Clean Air has been by far the best - they do a better job mowing than anybody else, and I quite like the fact that every piece of equipment they use is electric. Our yard was in dire need of some TLC. The front was getting overrun with weeds and the back was completely submerged in them. I should have taken some photos to give a more accurate depiction but it was bad. Austin and Jesse were supposed to come Saturday but let me know they couldn't due to rain. Apart from the obvious benefits of using a totally environmental lawn mowing service,Chris is so conscientious and hard working and reliable. My yard always looks great and she makes sure that everything is in order - not just the grass -but takes care of piles of leaves and anything else she sees that needs doing! I am soooo pleased to be a customer of Clean Air Lawn care. This is one hard working lawn service. Best part....they've outfitted the vehicles with solar panels so the lawn mowers and weedeaters and blowers can all charge in between yards. All of their equipment is gasoline and oil free! I have used Clean Air Lawn Care for 2 years and my lawn really looks healthy. I don't water my yard and whatever grows....grows, so bermuda is what I've got. When I utilized a conventional mowing service in the past, my yard seemed different. There were big tracks from the lawn mower everywhere and oil/gas spots on my driveway and patios. This doesn't happen with Clean Air Lawn care. My yard seems to "know" the equipment is "cleaner and more eco-friendly." Chris has a really good thing going! We used Clean Air Lawn Care for a few months this summer after my fiancé broke his ankle and I didn't have time to mow the lawn myself. It's fairly large lot, about 10,000 sq feet, so it takes awhile to mow. When we first began the service, Luke was very responsive and would come every two weeks like clockwork. A month or so in, he started coming less frequently maybe every 2.5-3 weeks, and with no communication to tell us what was going on. I know rain and whatever can delay lawn work, and that's totally fine, as long as you tell us about it. Then we noticed him using a gas powered trimmer. Okay, the electric ones aren't always reliable, sure. Then we noticed him charging the batteries for his mower on our patio. Alright, we have a giant yard, the batteries probably don't last as long. Then he left the hose running in the front yard. Then he used a gas mower. Then he did the front yard and came back a week later to do the back yard. Finally this Friday it had been three weeks since we had last seen him, with no email or anything, I emailed him to cancel the service and get a refund for the payment I had just sent. He claimed he had planned to come out that day to do our yard and disagreed with me on the last date he had been out (we marked it on our calendar since it was becoming such an issue, as well as my fiancé having an email from him on the date), but didn't acknowledge the refund. I've since emailed him twice back with no response. We hired him because he seemed like a nice enough guy and the price was right. We weren't all that concerned about the 'green' aspect, but it was a nice added bonus. If he had just had to use gas equipment instead, it wouldn't've have been a deal breaker for us. However, the lack of communication and poor scheduling and general sloppiness was not what we were paying for. I'd recommend staying away. Now we just use an online service to request a contractor to come out whenever we need the lawn cut. Not as professional (seeming), but much more reliable. Edited to add - we did get our refund and once he acknowledged that we wanted one, it came very quickly. So there's that. read more

My whole yard (front and back) was a mess, and I mean a mess!! Weeds, fire ants, you name it. When I first called Chris she was very clear she was not going to be able to give an estimate until a week later, so I had to wait, now I know why.... If you have a hard time getting in touch with them, it's not because they don't care, they are probably just super busy; keep trying, they are totally worth the effort. These guys are AMAZING! My house looks amazing, I can't get enough compliments from my neighbors. No text, no phone call...no response to my texts/calls either. Finally after several weeks he texted me back telling me he no longer works at Clean Air & to contact the manager for assistance. I loved the fact that it was eco-friendly and quiet mowing. However, all he knew was how to cut the lawn: 1. he used my outside electrical outlet to charge his dead batteries without asking. 2. could not pin him down to a specific mowing time each week 3. did OK job but I had to supervise the edging. 4. after 3 weeks he texted me he cannot make it on a designated day that he had a family emergency 5. never came back, never returned my calls or texts whether he is returning 6. totally ignored me as a customer. I guess he did not need my business, after 2 no shows I hired a replacement who is puntual and responds to my questions. read more

Chris came out after giving us an estimate on the yard. We were moving and needed the lawn and bushes taking care of. Wasnt quite sure what to expect since we have never used a lawncare service. I thought the estimate was a little high but this was because I did not know all the things CALC we going to do. They came out and made our yard look fabulous. Very disappointed in the service I received. It was a simple leaf cleanup and i had to call the guy back three times to actually pick up all the leaves, which he still never even did. He showed up in cutoff shorts and sandals on. That should've been my first clue. When I called him back the last time and told him there was still piles of leaves, he said he just would give me my money back. Ummm...dude, I just want you to blow and rake some friggin leaves. I'm pregnant, my husband has been ill the past few weeks and I had grass growing fast. I filled out their form and got a call back almost immediately. They said nate would come by the next week and he'd give me a call. The day came and went and the grass grew even higher. I ended up having to call another company who came when they said they would. I hired Clean Air Lawn Care after having a few less than ideal experiences with other companies who left my yard messy and/or weren't reliable. Chris at CALC is amazing. I signed on for a full summer of mows as well as the seasonal clean-up, and had her weed the jungle that had sprouted in my backyard. She was thorough in everything she did. What really sets her head and shoulders above the rest is that she actually communicates with her customers -- if it rained, or she'd bitten by a customer's dog and had to postpone, she always emailed me to let me know and to tell me when she'd come to make it up. One time recently, she came to my house to mow and found that the lawn's growth had slowed, so she said she'd come back the next week instead (rather than just mowing the too-short grass since she was already there). Now that is conscientious -- a rare quality! She always did a fabulous job, was friendly and pleasant, has fair prices, and, of course, is environmentally conscious. She even advised me on planting flowers and provided me with a booklet on native plants from the City of Austin. She is a gem, and I highly recommend her. read more
