When I first started using Liberty Lawn as my service to cut my grass many, many years ago, there was only one employee. Jeff. Jeff arrived every couple of weeks and always did a fine job of cutting, edging, and sweeping up my lawn. Before long, Jeff hired a crew to work for him. No longer did Jeff mow my yard himself, but now he has left it up to strangers. Over the years, I would have to say his lawn crew has been fine 95% of the time. On the rare occasions when I had to send an email to address an issue, LLC's response time was always swift and quickly resolved. Recently, Liberty Lawn did some concrete work, extending the width of my driveway. Last year they replaced my wood fence and installed new gates. They did an excellent job on both of these projects. At this point I will always go to them first anytime I need anything done outside my house. read more

Liberty Lawn Care was mowing my lawn every 2 weeks. They damaged ALL of my sprinklers and refused to fix them. This was during the summer when there was a water ban. I only wanted them to fix what they damaged. Not only did they make me feel like it was my fault, I had to pay another company over $500 to fix. I specifically asked them to weed the front yard, and lo and behold they showed their hand. They completely ignored 1/3 of my front yard and then blamed it on me. What's even worse is that when I called them they only emailed me (no attempt at calling or customer reconciliation) and then blamed it on my clear instructions. Weed front yard - It's not rocket surgery (hopefully someone likes dad jokes there) See the photo below folks, I hate to play the card but they blatantly discounted my voicemail about the front yard (they literally ascribed water as an incredible weed growth accelerator, thanks Susan - maybe you should listen to Bill Nye a bit more, or ACC is an option). Either I'm growing Kudzu here or we got a bare-bones business that scams their workers and customers for the margins or we got a genuine misunderstanding. I'll keep you posted if they email something better than "The customer is wrong and you have to deal with the HOA fee for something you clearly asked and paid for" I'd like to support them, but there's a reason here folks that they get mixed reviews. My guess is they employ decent folks to do the landscaping but their CS team is terrible, or if it is the owners then hopefully they can pick up from this it's a terrible idea to nickle and dime their customers. read more

If there was an option for zero stars, that would be my rating for this company. I hired them last month for lawn maintenance and have just received my second service. Their pricing is outrageous, for starters. They charge hourly per the number of workers in the crew, which shows greatly in their worth ethic. Everything is slow and sloppy. Pieces of grass still sticking up everywhere, edges not done at all, or not done properly. For the last 45 minutes of today's service, half of the two man crew I was being charged for, sat in the vehicle waiting on the other to finish. Meanwhile, my beds were left completely untouched by mower or WEED eater. The crew member in the vehicle told me this was landscaping's job, however the crew that came out for the prior service had completed the trimming of beds with a WEED eater. Emphasis on the weed portion because I understand these are weeds and am seeking a more lasting weed service remedy, but I also understand weeds can be efficiently addressed with the equipment the crew had on hand. The employee informed me they did not have time to complete my yard to standard...even after no showing two days in a row and sitting in the car for 45 minutes! I was advised to call Norma. Upon calling Norma, she said she will reduce the hourly fee to account for the crew member who was not working and that she'd have them weed eat the beds as well. They did not. My yard was left just like this. This company lacks greatly in professionalism, timeliness and quality control. Update: I am including the billing breakdown for this exact service. No one ever came back out to retouch my lawn, as advertised in their services. Less than a week later, I had to have a new lawn service come out to do the job correctly. We had Liberty Lawn Care out to clean up our flower bed and put down some weed barrier. They did the job in about 2.5 hours and we were very satisfied with the job. Unfortunately, the guys killed three of my plants in the process but I was impressed that they were upfront about it and even returned the following week to replant three new plants. To preface this, I've always mowed my own lawns and probably have higher expectations than some of you out there. My wife and I are selling our house and called Liberty Lawn Care to enlist their services since we're moving and I can't physically be there to mow our lawn. They came out on time as expected to take care of our lawn. The problem was, they mowed our lawn way too fast, resulting in missed strips and patches. The also didn't overlap their lines enough, resulting in more missed grass. The quality of work was in line with something I would expect from my neighbors 15 year old son with no professional mowing experience and not from a 'professional' lawn care company. I contacted them and they said they would send someone out to fix it. I have no idea if anyone actually ended up coming out, but the problem areas were all still there. I'm still flabbergasted they did such a bad job considering it was the first job for a new client. I was really surprised by Jeff's business model. I emailed asking for him to come out because my lawn was "mowed" in the dark after 8 pm this weekend. There are places where there are shoots of grass sticking up and although the lawn was "just mowed" yesterday it looks the same as the neighboring yards that have not had service. Rather than try to make it right, Jeff advised me how busy he was and he could do without me as a customer. Well Jeff, a few weeks ago your people shattered my car window and left without even telling me. I had to discover it when I went outside and got in the car. And now this. Yeah, your service is "affordable" at 38 dollars but customer service is important too. You might have a ton of business now and a wait list but how busy do you think you are going to continue to be with this kind of "customer service"? An apology and your explanation would have been all that was needed with a follow up appointment to fix the night mowing job. Response: My email was not in all caps. There were exactly 4 words in the entire email in capitals. Night, Owner, Night and Noon. I neither yelled at you or berated you. I informed you of a problem with service and used those words as a stressor. It's funny to me how this is never your issue. Reading through the complaints you always point the finger back at the customer. But let's be clear. 4 words in capitals is not an email ALL in capitals and let's be honest, its really hard to do a good job cutting lawn in the dark. read more

You don't have a marriage with everyone, and that is the case here. Ultimately, there were a several deal breakers with Liberty and me. Liberty Lawn mowed into one of the lines of my irrigation system. When I discovered it, I called and spoke to Norma in the office who said someone would come out. Therein lies problem number 1. Time passed, and, as it was summer and my plants were suffering, I called my irrigation company, who promptly repaired the line. Being busy with work, family illness, demands of a boss, I did not document with an email. Now, shame on me. I deducted the cost of the repair from my bill and Liberty disputed it. And, as you can now guess, she has no recollection of my call or conversation. So if you have the time and the desire to police the professionals you hire, Liberty may be for you! The crew also clipped my gorgeous trumpet vine, cutting off its nutrient supply. They deny that also. If you have time to take "before" mow and "after" mow photos (just in case there is damage) Liberty probably will be a match for you! And lastly, and not insignificantly, these professionals mowed around my beds with the chute pointing toward the bed, spraying cut grass into my beds. But, alas, I did not get footage of that so I guess that didn't happened either. Bottomline, if you have time to babysit the crew, document like you are headed to a court case, and enjoy being made to feel you don't matter, you may have a marriage with this team. This is our first time using a lawn service (as it's our first house) so I didn't know what to really expect, but they have been exceptional. They haven't even complained about our sloped yard, our zoo of animals we have (dogs, chickens, birds), and the crazy landscaping projects that we were doing over the summer! The lawn service I WAS using decided to increase their already high prices, which forced me to cancel my contract with them. I had to go searching through the hundreds of lawn services online and lucky me I found Liberty Lawn Care. I met the owner, Jeff Neely, who was very knowledgeable about gardening, lawn, and landscaping services. He quoted me a price I couldn't refuse for mowing my lawn so I immediately hired his company. I have to say it was a great decision on my part! I waited to rate this company in order to see if the quality of service I received in the beginning would remain constant. It has. These guys do a great job, they are dependable, and the prices cannot be beat! There are no contracts. I recently had my lawn aerated and they charged me about half ( or less than half ) of what other companies charge for this service. They used good equipment that pulled a core or plug from the lawn instead of simply spiking a hole in the ground. The aeration really helped with watering my lawn in this awful drought! There are so many lawn companies out there that it can get overwhelming with so many of them promising the same thing. Not all of them deliver what they promise but Jeff and his company do. The last couple of times I've done yard work, I've come down with varying cases of poison oak. The first time was hardly an issue. However, the second was enough to turn me off of the great outdoors forever. Having poison oak on my arms, face and torso was pretty frickin' miserable; for me and anyone else that had to listen to me complain about it. Awful!!! I gave Liberty a call because they were one of the few places that offered weed removal as one if their services. Most places mow and edge only, but we already have that part covered. They gave me a call when they were 15 minutes out. Two nice guys arrived and got right to work. In just under and hour and half, the poison oak/ivy was gone along with all their buddies. I wish I could give this company a zero rating. Worst customer service! Ram, the Customer Service Manager was just awful, he was rude, disrespectful and argumentative. I used this service twice. The first time they left mulch all over the patio. I called and told them about it, they said they would make a note. The second service was the worst my yard has looked - there was mulch in the yard, debris all over the patio, unevenly cut and edged too close to the fence the grass died in several areas. I cancelled my service. Later that morning I get a call from Ram, he was at my house, he wanted to go into my backyard but the gate was locked. I asked him if he got the message that I cancelled the service, he did not answer, but said it was in their agreement to confirm these types of things. He came to my house UNANNOUNCED. I told him I cancelled the service, what part of cancel do you not understand. I had a lawn care emergency --- the power drive on my mower died when I was only about a quarter of a way through the front lawn, and there was no one I could borrow one from. My husband was on his way home from several long, stressful weeks of helping his mom settle his dad's estate, and I wanted everything perfect and stress-free when he got home. So I called Liberty, and Erin was super nice. They worked me in even though the crew had a very busy day, and they did a great job. There was some sort of miscommunication, because I understood us to have agreed that they'd finish the front and edge both the front and back. They skipped the back. Erin and I had a very cordial discussion and she agreed not to charge me full price. I decided to go ahead and pay it anyway, since they did work me in. Overall, the experience was very good. They got a crew out pronto, the crew did a great job, and although I don't use a lawn service regularly if I did I'd hire Liberty. Please be careful when using these guys. They are very quick and cut corners. But more importantly they don't like to take responsibility for their crews. On a routine mowing they detached a mister in my back yard and left it on the ground running for hours. When I returned home later that evening my backyard and under the patio was completely flooded like a swamp. The owner was completely rude and unprofessional and it took me 2 months to get him to just remove the charge for the mow, and he never paid or helped with any of the cleanup, water bill, etc. that was caused by his men. Unprofessional. I live in Liberty Hill and I believe in working with local companies whenever I can. I contacted Liberty Lawn Care 5/20/22 for an estimate on a landscaping project and came out the following week to discuss my needs and look at my yard. On 6/2/22 I called them because I had not heard anything from them. They called me the next day (Friday) and told me that my project was still being priced and I would have my estimate by Monday. Monday came and went. I called them on 6/15/22 and left another message (to this day they have never answered the phone). I got no call back, but the next day found 2 guys in my backyard. No one called or knocked on my door. Luckily, I recognized one of the guys because I was startled. I opened the door and he said, "I probably should have knocked." Yes, they should have. This is trespassing, since we have no agreement on any services yet. I left a message for them at how unhappy I was last Friday, July 1st with a request for a call back. Still no call to apologize and no estimate. I would consider the holiday (4th of July) as a reason for delay, but what about all of June? It has been over a month, they have not reached out to me to this day outside of the time I asked them about my quote and even then, they did not follow through. Communication goes a long way, there were many missed opportunities here. It shows you care about your customer. "Hey, I don't have an estimate yet. I would like to come take another look. What day works for you?" "I'm sorry this is taking time. We have been busy, I appreciate your patience." Anything. What am I to expect if they actually started a job? Things happen, but you have to find the time to communicate, especially if you are going to open a gate and enter someone's backyard. read more

I would avoid this company at all costs. I used them for just about a year and chose them largely off their Yelp reputation. The work was always good enough, but back in July their crew kinked my AC drain hose causing it to back up into my house and doing some minor water damage and at this point I have given up trying to get Liberty to make it right. I took a photo of the kinked line and emailed them to let them know what happened. They contacted their insurance and I assumed it would be taken care of shortly. But no, the insurance adjuster told me that as long as the owner didn't dispute it wouldn't be a problem. After a week or so of waiting I was informed by the insurance contact that the owner had disputed they had kinked the line and absent video of their crew kinking the line (who would possibly have this) there was no way the insurance company would pay the claim. Jeff, the owner, claims the insurance guy advised him to dispute the claim. I have no idea if that is true or not. Jeff also claimed his crew would never kink the hose like I found it (even though it had clearly been done before), if they did it was because my hose was way too long and my AC should have shut off automatically so it wasn't his fault. (I'm pretty sure if you cause a car wreck you don't get excused because the airbag didn't go off). Still it seemed like Liberty was willing to make things right. I worked to find a contractor to get a quote. I even set it up so Jeff could be there and talk with the contractor. The quote came back and I said I was willing to get other quotes that might be less, but I was clear I wanted someone bonded and insured. I forwarded the quote to Liberty and the response was that if I forwarded paint information they'd send somebody out. I had the audacity to ask WHO they planned to send and the conversation degraded pretty quickly with the owner accusing me of conspiring with the contractor. And that I was just trying to take advantage of them and get them to pay for someone else's mistake. How dare I want to know who they planned on sending to cut holes in my house. I'm giving up I'm tired of the owner repeatedly accusing me of trying to take advantage of them or that I'm " trying to intimidate them" into doing something I think any reasonable business would do. I'm sure Liberty will have a response (Jeff has already accused me with libel and slander) but in short I would not trust this company on my property if I was you. read more

I called on 8/12 for a quote and they said that they would send someone out to give a more accurate quote for the service I was requesting (which was to clean up flower bed, re mulch, and possibly install new plants) on 8/14. The gentleman who was doing the quote said that he would write up the work and let me know how much it was through email. The next couple of days I waited for an e-mail, which I did not receive, so I called the company and they said they would send it out to me, but it usually takes a week (which I thought... why if they already have a quote written out). So I waited and now it's 8/27 and I still have not receive an email or a phone call. I guess maybe they are too busy to take new clients, but if that was the case please just tell your new potential client that. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication between the person coming out to do the estimate and the person who is supposed to email me the quote or call etc...I'm just wondering if this is normal business practice. read more

They provided such excellent feedback about what was ailing my drought ridden yard, besides the obvious Texas heat and lack of water.
