In its current state, Flower Child is walking into a retro basement that has decades of treasure! LAYOUT/INVENTORY: The store has two levels with multiple rooms of treasure. Both levels have similar merchandise - home goods, kitchen tools, some furniture, abundance of accessories, clothing, vinyls, and some interesting international decor. Just when you think you ran out of rooms, there are more rooms of treasure to browse. I especially loved the basement. Every room is a treasure hunt! If you wear petite sizes, this is a treasure trove of vintage clothing. You'll find tees, dresses, sweaters, and pants. The clothing is casual and functional. Check out all the clothing rooms on the main level and basement. VALUE: The discounts on merchandise of 70% is a great value. However, the initial prices are quite high considering the quality. Some of the clothing and items are very well loved. I don't see myself paying full prices for the items to be extremely honest. SERVICE: The staff was very nice to customers during checkout. There was a lot of excitement about the upcoming store move. They staff was always very busy. Personally, I wanted to ask about the pricing for a folk pin I was eyeing. There was no one to ask so I eventually gave up. I'm sure the service is more attentive during the regular days. PARKING: I was surprised to find a pretty large parking lot at the back of the building considering the location is in Lakewood. Amazing if you're carrying home a lot of treasure. I would recommend Flower Child to guests who enjoy digging for treasure. You definitely need maybe an hour to focus on each room without getting overwhelmed. They do an awesome job showcasing new pieces on their social media, which is mostly how I've stayed in touch with them during the pandemic. I believe their brick and mortar has closed at this location, but according to Instagram, they're aspiring to be back in Lakewood soon! I browsed around the store before I left and I was amazed as to how much inventory is in here. I even commented on the inventory and the owner stated that he has no real method of keeping track of everything which is a bit concerning. While the owner is really nice, the store is too packed with MANY items. The experience walking in feels a bit overwhelming especially because some parts of the store are not neat. It is even hard to walk through the store as some of the spaces between racks are tight. I'm sorry to say but this store looks like a junk yard with some very old and used items. MY PURCHASE -- I bought a white cotton hat plus earrings. The hat cost around $25 and the earrings were around $14. I realized later that these were slightly overpriced. When I got home, I noticed a stain on my hat and I also noticed that one piece of the earring is a bit flimsy (loose). I'll try to remove the stain off of my cotton hat but it looks pretty permanent which isn't ideal but it is a nice hat. The store sells clothing (tops, pants, jackets, dresses, sweaters), cups/mugs, hats, and other random things. Many items don't look new so I'm assuming some are used items. I prefer an organized store where the racks are not overflowing with items and where items aren't very old (some look like used items) so I probably won't be back. This store is located in a large shopping plaza, plenty of parking in front. The store itself is well organized and breaks down about 50%/50% between clothing and home goods. Up front as you come in you will find some furniture and plenty of interesting pieces. There is usually one or two displays in the front windows. On the left side of the store you will find a nice selection of decor pieces, kitchenware and other assorted housewares. The right side of the store is women's clothes up front with men's clothes in the back. The clothes are generally of real high quality, the prices are a bit higher than most other stores, but if you go on Thursday the prices are 50% off. Each day of the week has a different discount deal. While I don't always find something I want, when I do it is usually very cool. I did find a small stained glass lamp in a Frank Llyod Wright style and a cool little carved stone figure. Overall the Brookpark store has some really nice products and you can find some great finds. Common Threads Brookpark is a very well organized and well stocked thrift store; it almost feels like you are not at a thrift store but you can definitely find some really great buys. They do a really nice job of presenting the products and keep the store well stocked and looking good. May not be the place to find the best values, but you can find some great buys.

I even bought a small item. This didn't placate her. She was more than rude about an accident that was clearly the vendors fault for poor merchandising and display practices. WHAT (type of store) -- Magically Found is a quirky shop filled with random items such as candles, cards, tea cups, etc. The owner was super friendly during my visit. She explained that this shop has what a grandmother living in an English cottage would keep at her house. ITEMS -- The owner explained this to be a witchy store hence the name "Magic" is in the store name. I am not into witch things neither do I believe in that but the store has many other items to buy. They sell matches, candles, candle stick holders, tea cups, and other random items. I bought a little square container ($9) that has a strawberry shaped top/cover. It can be used for anything such as to put earrings in or even cubed sugar. I still haven't decided what I'll use mine for but it is in my kitchen for now. Dried herbs and flowers hang from the ceiling, taper candles are nestled into the most unsuspecting corners, and vintage wares are everywhere to be discovered. Rebecca self-describes her shop as "Eclectic Granny Decor, Cottage Witch Vibes" according to Instagram. As I type this, I have a taper candle made with dried flowers burning inside of a vintage owl holder. I love this shop and could truly buy everything in here.
