Flower Child is a thrift store in Lakewood. The store is currently having a closing sale (70% off…read moreeverything). They will be opening in a new space in November 2025. In its current state, Flower Child is walking into a retro basement that has decades of treasure! LAYOUT/INVENTORY: The store has two levels with multiple rooms of treasure. Both levels have similar merchandise - home goods, kitchen tools, some furniture, abundance of accessories, clothing, vinyls, and some interesting international decor. Just when you think you ran out of rooms, there are more rooms of treasure to browse. I especially loved the basement. Every room is a treasure hunt! If you wear petite sizes, this is a treasure trove of vintage clothing. You'll find tees, dresses, sweaters, and pants. The clothing is casual and functional. Check out all the clothing rooms on the main level and basement. VALUE: The discounts on merchandise of 70% is a great value. However, the initial prices are quite high considering the quality. Some of the clothing and items are very well loved. I don't see myself paying full prices for the items to be extremely honest. SERVICE: The staff was very nice to customers during checkout. There was a lot of excitement about the upcoming store move. They staff was always very busy. Personally, I wanted to ask about the pricing for a folk pin I was eyeing. There was no one to ask so I eventually gave up. I'm sure the service is more attentive during the regular days. PARKING: I was surprised to find a pretty large parking lot at the back of the building considering the location is in Lakewood. Amazing if you're carrying home a lot of treasure. I would recommend Flower Child to guests who enjoy digging for treasure. You definitely need maybe an hour to focus on each room without getting overwhelmed. I look forward to checking out the layout of a new store!

I visited Sweet Lorain thrift store in mid-August 2026 from the recommendation of my Russian friend…read moreto try to sell my mom's fancy old hats (hats to wear to a party, a horse race, a British high tea event, etc). The owner, Redwin, stated that he couldn't buy my mom's hats because he prefers much older hats and he already has a 7,000 collection of hats (WOW!) which is fair, so I wasn't mad about it. Not every store can accept items to sell. I saw the store's hat collection and it's a LARGE collection. TOO MUCH INVENTORY (in my opinion) -- Everything is crammed in this store. I browsed around the store before I left and I was amazed as to how much inventory is in here. I even commented on the inventory and the owner stated that he has no real method of keeping track of everything which is a bit concerning. While the owner is really nice, the store is too packed with MANY items. The experience walking in feels a bit overwhelming especially because some parts of the store are not neat. It is even hard to walk through the store as some of the spaces between racks are tight. I'm sorry to say but this store looks like a junk yard with some very old and used items. MY PURCHASE -- I bought a white cotton hat plus earrings. The hat cost around $25 and the earrings were around $14. I realized later that these were slightly overpriced. When I got home, I noticed a stain on my hat and I also noticed that one piece of the earring is a bit flimsy (loose). I'll try to remove the stain off of my cotton hat but it looks pretty permanent which isn't ideal but it is a nice hat. The store sells clothing (tops, pants, jackets, dresses, sweaters), cups/mugs, hats, and other random things. Many items don't look new so I'm assuming some are used items. I prefer an organized store where the racks are not overflowing with items and where items aren't very old (some look like used items) so I probably won't be back. If you like thrift and vintage stores then feel free to visit Sweet Lorain at your own leisure. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 178/250 total reviews in 2026 - 1019 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 31 August 2026

They have taken over a large department store space and divided it into a large number of individual stalls. Each stall is stocked and priced by individual owners which results in a really diverse variety of items. There are true antiques, interesting vintage items, collectibles, art and even furniture. Each item is priced and identified by stall number. I really enjoy browsing through the stalls, some have a clear theme and are consistent, others have a true hodgepodge of items so that you have to take your time looking at what is available. Even though most of the items are not what I am interested in, I always find some items that I am interested in and a larger amount that are fun to see. Pricing is moderate with a wide range from a bit high to some real values. You might also find selected stalls where some or all of theitems are discounted. On one item I wanted the staff was able to contact the seller and I negotiated a lower price. Although I usually hit the thrift stores looking for bargains I do enjoy an occasional visit to Antiques & Uniques to see what is available. I have purchased a really nice Inuit stone carving and have my eye on a really nice Asian wooden mask. Even if you don't find anything to buy this is a fun place to wander around and see what catches your eye. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I also appreciate that you have the ability to just walk around at your own pace and see what is there.
