Located on Kinsman Road in a former drugstore building you will find an 'antique mall' filled with individual booths. The Mall is overall very clean and bright, most of the booths are well organized and easy to check out. On the downside I found that less then half of the items were antiques or vintage, instead it is a mix of all sorts of items. For me I only saw a couple of items that interested me. Overall the prices seemed high for what was being offered; prices do vary depending on the booth. The vendors and volunteers that were in the Mall were nice and friendly and clearly the vendors care about their booths. I was primarily looking for wood carvings, especially masks so it is always a longshot whether I will find anything, but usually I can find some items that are worth checking out; here the pickings were very slim. Without a doubt, Silver Eagle was the best discovery of the day. Definitely better than the Oktoberfest itself, but that's another story. Like so many antique shops; it's packed from floor to ceiling, musty-smelling, and filled with little nooks and crannies that house the most interesting things. There are several rooms, and we easily got lost for a couple of hours looking at all the cool, old treasures. They have a huge collection of local memorabilia from Akron and the surrounding areas. There are also lots of old postcards, appliance ads from the 30s - 60s (hello, Mad Men!), and LIFE magazines which were really fun to read! My favourite discovery was all of the old photographs -- they were really, really lovely. The owner seemed a little crochety, but he kept to himself. I found so many cool things in here that I wanted, but didn't have any cash on me -- I'm definitely going to have to come back.

If you collect bottles this place is your holy grail. The owner was once a huge bottle collector and knows a lot about Akron's dairy history. I love a vintage store with an owner full of knowledge. There's a pretty solid vintage appliance collection, baseball memorabilia, civil war relics, native american arrowheads, art, costume jewelry, old photographs, barn tools, antique metal toys, and even furniture (good luck getting it out). I started with coffee at Asterisk and saw the street was lined with local shops and decided to take a stroll and I'm glad I did. I walked into The Hidden Pearl and immediately knew I would come out with something. I love jewelry/accessories and there were plenty to choose from. There were also racks further back in the store with vintage clothing. I saw a few larger pieces as I was browsing which I appreciate as a plus sized woman. The owner was welcoming and invited me to explore. I ended up purchasing a ring, bracelet, and a purse. All of which I love! I found her prices to be reasonable for the items I purchased and I'd happily stop through again.
