Flower Child is a thrift store in Lakewood. The store is currently having a closing sale (70% off…read moreeverything). They will be opening in a new space in November 2025. In its current state, Flower Child is walking into a retro basement that has decades of treasure! LAYOUT/INVENTORY: The store has two levels with multiple rooms of treasure. Both levels have similar merchandise - home goods, kitchen tools, some furniture, abundance of accessories, clothing, vinyls, and some interesting international decor. Just when you think you ran out of rooms, there are more rooms of treasure to browse. I especially loved the basement. Every room is a treasure hunt! If you wear petite sizes, this is a treasure trove of vintage clothing. You'll find tees, dresses, sweaters, and pants. The clothing is casual and functional. Check out all the clothing rooms on the main level and basement. VALUE: The discounts on merchandise of 70% is a great value. However, the initial prices are quite high considering the quality. Some of the clothing and items are very well loved. I don't see myself paying full prices for the items to be extremely honest. SERVICE: The staff was very nice to customers during checkout. There was a lot of excitement about the upcoming store move. They staff was always very busy. Personally, I wanted to ask about the pricing for a folk pin I was eyeing. There was no one to ask so I eventually gave up. I'm sure the service is more attentive during the regular days. PARKING: I was surprised to find a pretty large parking lot at the back of the building considering the location is in Lakewood. Amazing if you're carrying home a lot of treasure. I would recommend Flower Child to guests who enjoy digging for treasure. You definitely need maybe an hour to focus on each room without getting overwhelmed. I look forward to checking out the layout of a new store!

I've been coming for 40 years. One of my favorite stops in Cleveland . They used to have more…read morecollectibles. Seems like they have tons of vintage clothing now. They have a nice larger selection of records. I never leave without grabbing a couple at great prices. A nice mid century vibe with interesting characters.

I visited Sweet Lorain thrift store in mid-August 2026 from the recommendation of my Russian friend…read moreto try to sell my mom's fancy old hats (hats to wear to a party, a horse race, a British high tea event, etc). The owner, Redwin, stated that he couldn't buy my mom's hats because he prefers much older hats and he already has a 7,000 collection of hats (WOW!) which is fair, so I wasn't mad about it. Not every store can accept items to sell. I saw the store's hat collection and it's a LARGE collection. TOO MUCH INVENTORY (in my opinion) -- Everything is crammed in this store. I browsed around the store before I left and I was amazed as to how much inventory is in here. I even commented on the inventory and the owner stated that he has no real method of keeping track of everything which is a bit concerning. While the owner is really nice, the store is too packed with MANY items. The experience walking in feels a bit overwhelming especially because some parts of the store are not neat. It is even hard to walk through the store as some of the spaces between racks are tight. I'm sorry to say but this store looks like a junk yard with some very old and used items. MY PURCHASE -- I bought a white cotton hat plus earrings. The hat cost around $25 and the earrings were around $14. I realized later that these were slightly overpriced. When I got home, I noticed a stain on my hat and I also noticed that one piece of the earring is a bit flimsy (loose). I'll try to remove the stain off of my cotton hat but it looks pretty permanent which isn't ideal but it is a nice hat. The store sells clothing (tops, pants, jackets, dresses, sweaters), cups/mugs, hats, and other random things. Many items don't look new so I'm assuming some are used items. I prefer an organized store where the racks are not overflowing with items and where items aren't very old (some look like used items) so I probably won't be back. If you like thrift and vintage stores then feel free to visit Sweet Lorain at your own leisure. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 178/250 total reviews in 2026 - 1019 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 31 August 2026

Avalon Exchange is a consignment shop in Hingetown. Their second location is in the Coventry…read moreneighborhood. Both neighborhoods are pretty eclectic adding the perfect backdrop to this shop. This was my first spontaneous visit to Avalon to see what treasure may await me. AMBIANCE: The perfect marriage of thrift and vintage with designer finds. The store is divided into men's and women's apparel. Designer finds are neatly organized at the entrance. Don't expect to find thrift store chaos here, everything is neatly filed into sizes. INVENTORY: Apparel, accessories, designer purses, and lots of shoes! You won't find home goods or decor here. You will find way beyond the online shop inventory. You can easily build a fashionable outfit here for you next night on the town - Hingetown and beyond! I was most drawn to the furs and lingerie-type dresses at this shop. Oh, and men's shoes, so many of them! Prices start at $3 in the sales bucket. I saw reasonably priced dresses well under $15. SERVICE: The store staff all welcomed me in. It was a very pleasant experience. I also witnessed them engaging in friendly conversations with other customers. I did not purchase anything due to the store carrying a very limited plus size inventory. It's a well set expectation at most thrift and vintage shops due to procurement difficulties. There were probably five pieces labeled XXL that looked smaller than their size. I wear between XXL and 3X, so they just wouldn't work for my body type. Nonetheless, I was impressed with the selection of purses and will continue checking out this store for those items.

The service was amazing. I was greeted at entry. And helped when I asked questions. The workers…read morewere very respectful and polite. Zowie helped me the most. And she was very helpful. There is a very wide variety of clothes to select from. And the overall pricing is reasonable and good.

I have bought records here, bought equipment, and have had high end gear serviced here. Never once…read morean issue. Dave is as solid as they come. He stands by his products, he turns around his service repairs quickly and he knows his stuff. Amazing used selection of vinyl, and some great new stuff too. I can't walk out of here without a giant stack of wax. The back area of the store has fully refurbished audio equipment where you can find some great deals. All serviced by Dave himself. I have purchased at least 3 turntables from that back wall, and felt comfortable handing them off to someone else after I upgraded again. I had a Nikko receiver serviced most recently. It had some issues but this is the receiver my old man used to listen to the ball games on when I was a kid growing up. It's not some top of the line tube amp, but for me this was about the memories of that old blue light receivers warm glow and that crackle and pop of the vinyl. I got to listen to the Tribe in the playoffs on that thing this year, they unfortunately lost to the damn Yankees, just like my pop would have done back in the 70's when that Nikko was new out of the box. Except the Indians sucked in the 70's, but the receiver regardless of Indians wins and losses is the real winner. What I am trying to say is Vinyl Groove is the best in the area for servicing vintage audio equipment. Nikko to McIntosh every piece of equipment matters to someone and Dave is the best in the area to bring back old audio equipment and old memories.

I received all 3 of my preorders in September but never received the 4th album. I emailed about the missing record on Sept 21st. I received a response the same day that claimed it would ship out soon. I reached out again Oct 13th because I still hadn't received it or gotten any update on my order. I did receive a response the next day telling me that the title had actually been delayed and they would let me know when they received the new release date. The issue with that is the missing item was released in 2022. It wasn't a pre order. I responded saying that and never heard anything back. I reached out again on Oct 18th and finally just asked for a refund. No response. It took me commenting on every post of theirs to finally actually receive a refund today, Oct 23rd. I'm assuming there was a mix up and the record I purchased was accidentally sold. I get it, things happen. While not ideal, if they had communicated and been transparent about what happened and just issued me a refund I would've understood. Instead I was given the runaround and then just completely ignored. Then they responded to my review calling me childish- even though the only reason I was ever refunded finally was bc I started commenting on social media. I tried going through the proper channels via email and was ignored ‍
