I've stopped here twice now after hikes. The restaurant is cute with a nice outdoor area and service is good. The first time I split chips and salsa and the carnitas bowl with a friend. It was a good amount of food. The second visit we ordered nachos and tamales. The nachos are quite yummy and very heavy. Two of us could not finish them. There were enough leftover toppings for another serving of nachos in our own chips the next day. We had to get the tamales to go bc we had no room left in our bellies. Fried tamales were unexpected! We tried one bite and I think they'll be pretty good. I did want the lighter experience of a regular tamale tho. read more

First, when you walk in the door it is so bright in the room that you feel like you are in the spotlight. Additionally, the room is set up so that everyone turns to look at you when you come in. This would not be so bad if you were greeted as a welcome guest. However, that is NOT what it's like! In fact, the wait staff was aloof almost to the point of being rude. We felt like we had crashed someone else's party and we weren't welcome! The food itself was not worth the money. We had the Parmesan garlic wings, and some potato dish, and the tamales, The wings were ok - nothing to write home about tho - but the potatoes, they were dry and a bit burn flavoured, and definitely not worth the price! The tamales were edible, but the refried beans and Spanish rice were awful (himself NEVER leaves food and he left this). I got a margarita and it was horrible too (how do you get a margarita wrong!) We felt like we had been robbed by the time we left! As for the tables and chairs, the table was wobbly and the chairs were so miserable to sit in, it was clear they didn't want you to stay long. Fun little Spot! The bartender knew what he was doing and could make a great drink! It had a little bar which was nice to sit and chat with folks who live in the area. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE GEM!!! We live nearby, and have always wanted to stop in. Well, unfortunately, I'm alone on this trip but thought it was a perfect opportunity to stop on by, and I am thrilled that I did! Quaint set up right off the main strip in town, but I was pleasantly surprised on the atmosphere and ambiance of the place. EMPANADAS is where it's at! There we go! I'm sure the rest of their menu is fantastic but Dayuuuum those Empanadas hit just right! I should have ordered more plates just to take home. The staff was pretty dang cool, as well. They offered for me to try some different whiskies to compare, but what they recommended in the Old Fashioned was superb!! Cute little spot in the heart of Cle Elum! The menu is diverse and lots of menu items sounded amazing. We got carne asada tacos, carnitas taco, and chicken verde taco (all were perfectly cooked and plated with great toppings) I had a peach Bellini and it was refreshing, I liked the freeze dried lemon garnish. My husband's beer was great! The Wagyu sliders were tender and amazing on these delicious little brioche buns. The guacamole was so good! I wish we would have ordered guac and chips too. We also tried a new appetizer that was the fried burrata with grilled focaccia, omg the flavor on that my husband and I still talk about! Soo soo good! Our waitress was so sweet. She did forget to put our app order in because a table after us got their food before we got ours. Then she brought out the main dishes and we had to ask where the appetizer was. My wife and I stopped in the quaint town of Cle Elum Washington to charge our EV on the way to Leavenworth. We were both hungry, so we decided to stop at Cle Elum Taps and Tapas for lunch while the car was charging. What a surprising gem of a restaurant. The ambiance is awesome. The are a craft bar with a great taco and tapas menu. I had the Ridge Revival Old Fashioned which was expertly made by mixologist Marissa! Chef Larry cooked up some absolutely delicious rockfish tacos, boa beef tacos, and a savory mushroom empanadas that will haunt my dreams for the foreseeable future. If you are traveling on I90 and are even remotely near Cle Elum Washington, this is a must try establishment for fantastic food and craft drinks! read more

Stopped by for lunch while visiting the town of Cle Elum. There is a lovely outdoor seating section, but it was too chilly for us, so we sat inside. The inside had a nice ambience. The staff were friendly. I hand the 1903 cocktail which was boozy just the way I like it. My friend and I shared the chips, gauc, and salsa. The green salsa was tangy and flavorful. The red salsa had a nice kick. The guacamole had a good texture but too mild for my taste. The broccoli appetizer was amazingly delicious. You get a lot of food, more than I was expecting for a tapas style bar and restaurant. Definitely would come back if I return to Cle Elum. read more

My husband and I were camping at a nearby RV park and we decided to eat at Cle Elum Taps and Tapas. The reviews looked good. We had no problems with the service. My husband likes stout beers so he tried to order one but was told there were none on draft, just in a can. When your restaurant has "Taps" in the name, shouldn't they offer a good variety? We just had water. I ordered the chicken Verde Empanadas based on the description, which made no mention of a sauce drizzle over the top. I didn't like the sauce. I did tell the waiter beforehand that I am picky. The waitress had no problem taking the Empanadas back and making more without the sauce. The stuffing was good. My husband ordered the Carne Asada Sandwich, which he said was good. Neither of our orders came with sides. The bill was $50 for no sides, no appetizers , no drinks, and no desserts. Very expensive in our opinion. Would we ever go here again? NO! read more
