I've lived in this area for years and have transferred multiple vehicles at CLC Licensing -- every single time has been a hassle. They always require extra paperwork, question gifted vehicles, and try to calculate taxes based on Kelley Blue Book even when the sale price is accurate. I end up leaving frustrated and going to Smokey Point Licensing, where everything gets resolved with no issues. CLC Licensing consistently creates problems instead of helping. Save yourself the headache and go to Smokey Point or Everett instead. read more

Clc auto licensing has always been terrible. I honestly cannot think of one instance in the last 10 years where I have gone in to CLC in the afternoon and did not have to wait for a substantial amount of time. And once again, today did not fail to live up to its reputation. As always trying to go in there in the afternoon, there is always a line to the door with one person working. As you stand there, patiently you can normally see one of the workers in the back room petting their dog which i'm pretty sure is not allowed in a state office. How about instead of that assist with customers so they don't need to stand in line for a half an hour to get car tags. That is not a private business But i'm sure they know that. You are better off driving across town to Smokey Point where there is always multiple staff working at the counter and don't have to wait to take care of your business. Just another frustrated washington state OVER taxpayer. I do not have any problems with the yelp, but it will not let you post unless you add at least one star, which CLC doesn't deserve. read more

Unlike others I've always had pretty decent service here. Of course I hate paying the expensive license tab renewal fees like everyone else does. But the women who work here have never treated me badly. I try to visit them weekdays late morning or early afternoon which seems to be the non-peak time so there's never hardly a line. read more

I read some reviews before going in because so many of these license agencies employ people that delight in providing challenges. Not unlike those who seek to manage a condo association who love to make sure all those fine print rules are followed... Many of the reviews I read made it sound like this was what to expect here. That said, I needed early morning hours so I went here anyway. I found my experience to be worthy of my review so others are aware of the Great experience I had. Brody informed me that if I updated the address with the DOL (we used to live in Lynnwood), we would have lower tax and fewer associative fees - to the tune of $103.00 in savings. He instructed me how to use my cell phone to do so. I ended up having some difficulty - the state's website is Not easy to navigate - and he offered to take over. In all, he easily spent 10-15 minutes extra with me and seemed pleased to facilitate the 'work-around' to save us that cash. Very cool. Thank you Brody! read more

Even though you renew tabs online they do not have a pickup line. You have to wait in line with everyone else. So slow too!

We went in to get the titles changed on two cars we inherited, and it turns out it was right before closing. They were very polite, knowledgeable, efficient and helpful, and the whole process was much faster and easier than I expected. It would be helpful if they updated their hours on Yelp, since they close at 4:00, not 5:00. But I'm still giving them a 5 because of their excellent service. I've been coming here for years and I have always receive good service from the ladies behind the counter. They have always been friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I have seen other people leave upset and complain about the staff, but I guess that's what happens when you do not have all the necessary documents. It helps do do some research beforehand so you have everything you need. I recently went to renew my tabs and was informed that I needed an emissions test. Keri the owner is very unprofessional and has very poor customer service skills. Didn't bother coming out of her office for me to ask her further questions, after telling me yesterday all we needed was the "bill of sale with a clear signature". She believes the necessary information should be "implied" (straight out of Keri-Owners mouth) to transfer a title. She's the one that owns the business and should "SPECIFY" what information is needed, instead of having customers read her mind and give people the runaround. They have lost my tabs multiple times, and I have to pay for that last tab see. (this is NOT the first time tabs have been lost). I do not recommend this business whatsoever go to Lake Stevens! Just took the paperwork up to another department of licensing location, and they literally handed back the bill of sale that Keri was demanding and said "we do not even need that" and said we need a different form that Keri never informed us that we needed, which was called the Letters of Administrator. Today was my last time going to this location. Alyssa, the young girl, at the front desk is a jaded individual that should never be in customer service of any type. If you're the owner reading this, time to let her go. I've talked to the owner on the phone with my last negative experience at this location and she was very nice and polite. Today I made the decision just to renew my tabs online. The question I had is why I need to pay till June, being it's March, and plus another year since the car has been garaged and off the road for 2018. I have been going to this business for many years to do a vehicle licensing. They have always been extremely helpful. Today is a very good example of it. Amy helped me through the title transfer and sale of a vehicle after my husband passed away and he was on the title. She was very informative and very patient. She walked me through the whole thing. I would highly recommend these people especially if you go in with a good attitude and are ready to listen to their advice. I have several other vehicles that need to have my deceased husband's name removed and Amy told me exactly what I need to do to get that done. They have always handled my business efficiently and with a friendly smile. They are helpful! If you come in without the necessary papers, they'll let you know exactly what you need to come back with to complete your transaction in a non-condescending way. We paid off our vehicle, but the lien holder lost our title. I called ahead to CLC to ask if both registered owners needed to come in to transfer it into our names, or if I could just do it alone. The rep pulled up our info on the computer to check, and told me that I could come in and do it without the other registered owner. When I got there, the rep had to ask her co-worker how to handle the title. The rep she asked said "Oh she called earlier" and that both owners needed to come in for the transfer. So right off the bat, wrong information. Never once was there an apology for wasting my time. Even if she hadn't known that I didn't have the title, aren't they supposed to know what questions to ask? When I expressed how it is difficult with our schedules to both come in on a weekday before 5pm, the rep helping me said, "Well, it's probably not urgent". Actually, I am the one who decides how urgent it is! Since CLC didn't seem too concerned about my renewal, I'll just drive into Everett to take care of it. I recommend you do the same. read more

Unfortunately, some people don't have the needed documents or funds and get attitude with the poor employee. Customer service isn't always easy. I have went in there to get help to register a boat hull that has sat 18 years jumped through their hoops they said to do only to be berated in front of other customers in there office while the girl with the tats is yelling at me I stole that boat and the state of wa will never title it even though I have a certified piece of paper from Olympia starting otherwise the chick wouldn't even look at it. So I call Olympia back and the paper work I got from them is good enough to get a 3 year registration. I'll never do business there again and I'll tell everybody I know to walk away. read more

The one lady rep "Alyssa" was chatting with the only person (guy) in the room for about 10 minutes in a somewhat flirtatious way while talking about their dogs until I dropped my keys making it known that I was waiting in line. The gentleman so kindly interrupted the rep making it clear they needed to complete the transaction because "someone was waiting to be helped". The rep responded with "oh no, that's ok" and continued to ask him several more questions about his dogs. When I walked to the counter to inquire about my missing license plates, the rep or "customer service agent" was extremely abrupt and rude. So rude in fact, that I asked her why she was so kind and friendly to the previous guy and exhibited such a blatantly nasty attitude and demeanor towards me. She stated loudly and abrasively, "I'm trying to figure out what you want." I left immediately. I don't ever recall being treated so rudely and disrespectfully in any customer service environment, especially from a state agency. I definitely recommend people do their business elsewhere where they will be helped by kind courteous staff. read more

A lot of people come into a DOL office already in a mindset that the errand is annoying and sometimes they think that the rules don't apply to them. The people at CLC are some of the most knowledgeable I have ever run across and follow the strict requirements of Washington State. Please give them a shot and form your own opinions. Bring in your paperwork completed correctly and let them guide you through the process. I do all of my renewals through them for my private vehicles and my company vehicles. read more

I had called them when I was two mins down the road three mins before one O'clock to ask when they closed and lady said 1pm. And mentioned that I was two mins away in traffic and asked if she could wait a min. she was like sorry I have to Lock the doors at one but I can help the people that are inside. So I show up at 1pm with the doors already locked and customers inside. So I went to the door and it was locked. I feel it's bad business to be so rude over one min. So I'll be sure to let everyone know that Julie's auto licensing is about ten mins away and they are pretty easy to deal with. Sorry but I won't be coming back here again. I honestly think that one of the qualifications to work here is to be extremely rude to people. I own multiple homes and when I came in to get my tabs I used the address that was not on my license. The lady helping me was rude from the word go. I had my 10-month-old son with me and she told me that she could not help me because I could not use an address that was not on my license... And that I needed to drive across town and get my emissions test and come back, when the home that the car is stored at does not require emissions. She kept making rude demeaning unnecessary comments. Needless to say, I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will not be going back here. If there was a zero star option, that would be my choice!! The woman I spoke with was one of the most rude individuals I have dealt with. You would think that a business that deals with auto licensing might know a little about the subject. I am military and now live out of state and tried to explain that to the woman in reference to paying my car registration and updating my mailing address and she couldn't be bothered with me.
