This is the second time I have had a negative experience at Kc's Vehicle Licensing in Arlington. During my most recent visit, one employee insisted that my 1985 Chevrolet C20 rolling chassis had to be valued at approximately $29,000 for tax purposes and stated that the condition of the vehicle could not be meaningfully considered unless I obtained an appraisal at my own expense. What makes this especially concerning is that the valuation exceeded even the "Excellent" condition value listed in the standard Old Cars Weekly pricing guide used by Washington licensing offices. That guide lists a fully restored excellent-condition 1985 Chevrolet C20 at $25,000, with lower categories ranging down to $1,000 for a parts car. After leaving, I visited another licensing office in Marysville where the clerk was exceptionally professional and helpful. She accessed the same valuation resource, reviewed the condition categories, and successfully processed the title transfer using an appropriate condition-based valuation. This experience demonstrated that the issue was not the law or the valuation process, but the unwillingness of one employee to work with a customer to determine a fair and accurate value. As a result, I submitted a formal complaint to the Snohomish County Licensing Division and the Washington State Department of Licensing. I appreciate businesses that work with customers professionally and apply the rules fairly. Unfortunately, this office has now provided me with two negative experiences. Terrible. read more

Fast, friendly, and painless every time I've come to renew tabs and obtain new license plates! They do charge a $2.25 fee when using debit or 3% for credit so be prepared for that. When I called ahead for more information on my specific tab renewal issue, they were informative and cordial. Super helpful with answering questions. Happy to support this local business! read more

I've used them for years and always had good experiences! I have too many vehicles and toys and they see me too much!! lol

This is my go-to place! They're fast and friendly! Scotty is very knowledgeable and so kind. Never had a problem. They will always have my business. I definitely recommend! read more

Visited yesterday and was thoroughly impressed with Jacob's handling of my issue. I was merely looking for advice but he immediately grasped the situation and proactively worked to solve the problem. Where another office had simply directed me to call (or visit ) the "black hole" in Olympia, Jake jumped on the phone, got directly to the correct person, and had the issue corrected! I hadn't even asked him to try to do that for me. While I was being helped, I witnessed several other people come in to transact their licensing business, and was also impressed with how the other employee handled herself with those customers. All smiles and friendly, professional service. Thanks guys, you knocked it out of the park! Highly recommend this office. read more

Friendly, fast, efficient service! We were very pleased we were in and out in no time very professional.

Very rude and unhelpful employees accusing me of altering my purchase date and would not accept the bill of sale, will not be going back..

Went in to get the title on a motorcycle transferred with the buyer and the boy that took care of us was just a D**K. Insisted that we had to have an appraisal done by a licensed motorcycle appraiser to transfer the title. When I explained to him that it was a custom motorcycle and no way to appraise it he said he didn't care "not my problem" The buyer couldn't believe it and backed out of the deal in the parking lot saying it's just to complicated. when I went back and calmly told the boy that he had cost me the sale ($10,500.00) he started F...U.. and F...off. Very immature and childish behavior. Will never go back there again. read more

Fast service and very nice employees! Got my tabs in about a week! Been using him for years, he always makes it super easy!

Employees helped me through some tough title issues. They are nice and helpful. Our company has been using KC's Licensing for years and plan to keep using them. Thank You. read more

I will NEVER come back here and I will make sure everyone I know in Arlington is aware of how rude, unprofessional and quite frankly out of line one of their employees behaved toward me. I get it...you hate your job but don't work at a title company and let everyone who walks through the door aware of how much you hate it. Not only was this particular girl rude and unprofessional toward me but the three people before me as well! If the owners see this you may want to do some customer service training because I can guarantee this one employee will cost you a lot of business. You can find me at Smokey Point next time I need tabs or titles. read more

This place sucks. The Darrington archers a non profit organization received a donation of a car trailer from a former member of the club who had retired and had no use for it. The title is clean and the trailer in good condition. This place refused to change the title and license it without the club paying for an appraisal, because there was not a monetary value placed on the trailer. Nothing like trying to force small nonprofit organization out of business we survive on donations and work donated by community members to put on archery shoots to keep the range open . read more

Was accused of altering my bill of sale for $100. And told I needed the title of the car to transfer to my name, but then later switched his story and said it was because I "altered the document". Kept trying to trip me up on my words and said I "admitted to altering it" when I did not. Sometimes I do not have the most steady writing and can get jumbled up, which is shown on multiple other points on the bill of sale (zip code and vin #). Provided all other documents I had and was talked to very accusatory and condescending- said I should know I need the title if I have supposedly bought multiple cars before. It's a piece of paper and sometimes things happen, or people lose things etc. I cannot believe how I was treated with other people literally standing in the office hearing the whole thing. Arlington is a pretty small town and I don't appreciate the way I was obviously being perceived. Will never go here again. read more

Well I would love to NOT follow suit and give a bad review here but I just drove 45 one way in traffic to get here to register my vehicle and the door was locked and the lights were off. Online it said they were open, the sign on the door said they were open and even the voicemail when I called the phone number said they were open. It said they close up from 1:00-130 for lunch but it was 2:40 when I got there. Hmmm This company simply doesn't care about standards. Shame on me for seeing the reviews and still making the drive. Lesson learned! Help put these folks out of there misery and let them fade away. They clearly do not want to do what they do. If they cared, there would have been a sign ion the door with an apology of why they were out of office, or the voicemail would have mentioned same. Simply put, go elsewhere. read more

My experience here has always been positive. They get you in and out quickly. I will continue to come here.

The mask mandate has been pushed too far at this busisness, I've. been going here for a long time for my renewal of my vehicles, but my last visit was very uncomfortable due to the mask sign on the front door, I'm going elsewhere read more

Outstanding service! Thank you for answering all my questions and helping me with my title.

There awesome. I had some questions regarding my tabs, taxes and what not, they didn't act like some DMV gov't creeps at all. They were very nice and friendly. read more

I went to KC's to get the title of a car I purchased in Oregon transferred to my name. I am a Washingtonian. There was a slight error in the way it was filled out and they told me they could do nothing and that I had to fill out another piece of paper sent it down to the seller get them to sign it and get it notarized, all because the seller signed on the wrong line... Overall very unhelpful and rude I would recommend the licensing place in Smokey Point just a few miles away. read more

I've been coming here for over 10 years and everything usually goes just fine. My recent transaction has me thinking that the employees here don't want this office to be open anymore and we should just do our licensing services online. Good luck having them take the time to explain things to you as laws and policies change. Just pay and leave. read more

Terrible customer service, especially by the younger girl who works there. She was very rude about a mistake that was made on the title. Instead of being professional and telling me how to go about fixing it she just told me " no licensing shop is going to accept this. This is the second time I've had a bad experience here. Don't waste your time here. Smokey point licensing was much more helpful and professional about the same issue. read more

OMG, first time there, last time there. The counter guy rudely informed me, with no uncertainty, there was no such thing as a National Guard Family plate. Curious assertion, since my son has one, and I wanted one also. After a somewhat extensive discussion, I decided he was not going to be able to make it happen, and I left for another agency in Marysville, who have always been polite. I understand they probably don't get much training, are poorly paid, and have very poor support infrastructure, but concrete evidence was not in has favor so there should not have been an argument. read more

I went back to get my disability plates. As with my first visit.......they were extremely helpful and fast. I love this place! They saved me over 200.00 on my first visit and continue to provide excellent service to our community! read more

The person behind the counter (1/27/17 at 11:10am) requested copies of a document that was not needed to renew tabs, (ie; copy of the title). Then went off on a rude and irrelevant tangent in order to justify himself. AVOID this establishment. read more

They go the distance to make sure that your questions are answered and that any of your vehicle needs are taken care of in a timely manner. The friendliest customer service. read more

The customer service that I received from the grouchy man behind the counter along with his rude commentary have certainly cost this place my business and possibly that of everyone I know living in the area.
