When I realized it was a different asthma medication, called them, I was informed that I could not return the prescription and they would not refund my money. Today I went in to have my car examined and have a three year rabies shot. I decided not to get the microchip done. I specifically asked the for the cost before the appointment. Across the phone I was provided a breakdown of what the cost would be. $250.00. As I stated, I decided to not to get the microchip. You would think that would reduce the bill. No, the bill stayed the same. Why you may ask? they made you the difference by charging me $140.00 for the three year rabies shot. I was not given the option of rejecting this expensive shot because they did not inform me of the cost and they did not have an available price listing. When I asked to see their listing, I was shown the cost of the brand they supposedly gave my cat. I cancelled the second appointment for my other cat. The cost will be $60.00 dollars. I will never use this veterinary again. They are not upfront about costs of their services.

Formal Complaint / Public Review Draft Subject: Deceptive…read moreBilling and Unprofessional Conduct at Maywood Veterinary Clinic I am a senior citizen, retired, and currently undergoing cancer treatment. On [insert date], I brought my newly adopted kitten to Maywood Veterinary Clinic for a simple eye checkup. Before the visit, I spoke with a staff member named Mike, who provided a clear estimate of $95-$160 and assured me that any additional tests or costs would be discussed with me beforehand. I emphasized my limited budget and medical expenses, and he agreed to my request. At the clinic, I reiterated this request to the assistant, who confirmed she relayed it to the veterinarian. Despite this, I was later presented with a bill totaling $292.83, nearly double the high end of the original estimate. I was never consulted about additional procedures or charges. When I questioned the charges, I was told my kitten had a fever--an assertion that was later disproven by the veterinarian from the adoption agency, who examined the kitten at my home within 30 minutes and found no fever. This experience felt deceptive and exploitative. I was offered a $50 discount, but the final amount still far exceeded what I was told to expect. I believe this clinic took advantage of my trust and vulnerability, and I urge others to proceed with caution. Filing my Complaint...
