The toy selection here is quite average, but they do have something to appeal to all ages. Labubus, anime figures, Nintendo, you name it. As for the clawing, it was fun! It wasn't too hard once you get the hang of it. For $30, I was able to snag a few toys. If it's your first time, the employees are super nice and they reposition the toys so they're easier to grab. If you didn't get the toy that you want (after winning of course), they can swap it out for you as long as it's from the same machine. The card feature is pretty cool too. Though, I personally like coins more, because I can count how many coins I have left. It's quite daunting to keep track of how many credits I have left on the card. Though I do keep a mental note every time I swipe to play. The toy quality is questionable, it's a bit on the cheap, flimsy side. However, I came here for the experience and don't mind too much. The kids came away with many prizes! HAELY was fantastic, so helpful, started us off with tips and kept an ear and eye out for when we needed help. Even offered the kids to just come to her if we really needed help! You play using a game card, and it's easy to spend fast, so it was a nice recommendation for our big group of kids that the adults may want to hold the card and tap for them, since we got a bigger package but fewer cards (higher $ amount per card = more bonus credits). It also naturally slowed down every kiddo tapping away and spending it quick It's addicting to want to win, my biggest hint is dont be shy to ask for hints/help if youre not finding success on your own. We discovered Claw Daddy on Yelp during our recent trip to the San Diego area. It's located in the outdoor mall section of the Mission Valley Target shopping center. While parking is the plaza is ample, be aware that the spaces are a bit narrow. A game card is required for play. The lowest denomination is $10 for 40 game credits. Be aware that there is a 4-credit deduction for the card itself. This amount is generally enough for two or three claw machine attempts (Games are 12-20 credits to play). The evening employee provided excellent service; they were friendly, welcoming, and even explained that they could help reposition or 'fluff up' the toys after a few tries. You also get a free gift with purchase - for us it was a selection of Sponge Bob related keychains. Many of the prizes are officially licensed characters such as Sanrio, Sponge Bob, even the Koolaid Man. We were told the prizes get rotated every week or so. All in all a fun experience at Claw Daddy Arcade and can't wait to visit again the next time we're in town. read more

It's clean and organized and their machines all work properly. Stuffed with prizes, you'll leave with something for sure. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They don't dread their job which is evident. They have a trade up policy which is great. You can gather all your smaller prices and leave with one large one of you prefer. For $30-$50 you can have a good time for between half an hour to an hour if you don't go crazy. Claw Daddy in San Diego is hands down my new favorite spot. The place is spotless, everything looks brand new, and the vibe is just fun and welcoming. They have such a good selection of toys and change them up every week, so there's always something new to go for. When I went, they had the cutest plushies like Pusheen, Hello Kitty, Lilo and Stitch, SpongeBob, and so many others. Haley was seriously the sweetest person ever. She went out of her way to help me figure out which machines were best to try, gave me tips on timing, and was just so friendly the entire time. You can tell she genuinely wants people to win and have a good time. David was super nice too and made the place feel really chill and welcoming. I only spent $12 and left with three adorable keychain plushies- Stitch, a pink Stitch, and Gary from SpongeBob - plus they even gave me a free mask. Best arcade experience! We stopped by to see if it compared to the claw arcades near us and it was way better. Fortunately for us it was empty and the employee Jake was extremely helpful. He gave us helpful tips for certain machines and plushes. He offered to move around things in the machines to make it easier for the ones we wanted and would also trade out plushes we liked in the machine more. I appreciate that he was very present but not pushy. Most arcade employees we've encountered will sit at the counter and scroll their phone or not even pay attention. For $60 we got roughly around 10-15 wins so the play to win ratio is pretty high and I can't imagine you would be leaving disappointed. I highly recommend the capsule, low floor and large claw machines. This will be one of our first stops when we come back into town. read more

The stars are mostly for the employees, they were very helpful and nice! Overall, it's smaller than the arcades I'm used to and also had a limited selection of toy types. They do have an exchange system, where you can trade 32 plushies of any kind/size for a large one. They provide a bag for you to carry your items in. Wildly more expensive (for what you get) than other places we visited on SD...like the San Diego Zoo (which is crazy to think about). A nice plushie animal at the zoo was cheaper than trying to "win" a mid plushie here. read more

It's a fun way to spend 15 minutes. The premise is pretty simple. You come in, you pay on the back wall, tap your card and you try and maneuver your claw to grab a stuffed animal. I take my kids here when I have to stop at Target or any of the other shops and they absolutely love it! We have been many times and every single time the staff have been amazing. They always welcome us in, give tips on winning prizes and are always willing to swap out a prize we won if we prefer a different style from the same machine. They give you big drawstring backpack style bags to carry your winnings and there are many options to trade in multiple stuffies for larger ones. We haven't ever traded our winnings in for a larger prize but I see many people do it, there are some massive stuffed animal options like Hello Kitty, Stitch, Pokemon, etc. The games are fun, definitely not rigged like most arcades where the claw is set to not grip at all. We have never walked out empty handed! But the highlight of this arcade is truly the staff, they have all been very helpful and enthusiastic and really make the experience superior to anywhere else! read more

We recently had a Fabulous Experience with our Grandkids at Claw Daddy Mission Valley Mall. Love this place! My husband and I have already visited this place twice in a few weeks. This is located right next to the AMC theater at Mission Valley mall. If you love claw games, you will enjoy this place.
