Estuvimos viviendo en otro estado de EUA y necesitaba en mi caso, modificar mi licencia de manejo para California y actualizar ID de CA a mis hijos. La señora que me atendió no me explicó nada en absoluto sobre cómo se lleva a cabo un trámite de este tipo y en cambio, dio por sentado que yo no traía la documentación necesaria. Cuando le dije que tenía todo lo que me estaba solicitando, se empeñó en NO querer aceptar mi pasaporte norteamericano que está vigente como prueba de identidad, exigiendo que tenía que llevar mi comprobante de ciudadanía y además no me quiso aceptar el comprobante del IID que por que no tenía el sello. Todas mis preguntas eran como una mentada para la señora porque se enojaba porque le hacía preguntas, mal me las contestaba, su actitud 100% DÉSPOTA, CERO DISPOSICIÓN DE AYUDA Y ATENCIÓN AL CLIENTE... A mi regreso, me tocó con otra SEÑORA que era igual de DÉSPOTA e IRRITABLE que la otra, a la que si le hice notar su falta de ÉTICA laboral. Sin decirme nada o explicarme nada a pesar de que pregunté, me mandan a hacer el EXÁMEN DE MANEJO POR ESCRITO -y cuando les pregunté porqué si mi licencia del otro estado está vigente, solo me respondieron que porque así era y ya-. Hago el exámen, lo elegí primero en español, no lo pasé y decidí hacerlo mejor en inglés porque pensé que las traducciones suelen equivocarse en algunas palabras o sentido de las oraciones del inglés al español, y al hacerlo en inglés, si lo pasé. Se lo entregó a OTRA señora, y minutos después me llama y me dice: LO HICISTE EN ESPAÑOL Y EN INGLÉS ENTONCES POR ESO TIENES QUE HACER EL EXÁMEN DE SEÑALES, y yo le pregunté ¿porqué? o sea cuál es la explicación y no me la supo dar... entonces le dije ¿qué idioma necesito elegir? y me decía "no importa" ... finalmente fui a la computadora y lo primero que el sistema me pedía era elegir el idioma, y lo elegí en inglés y el SISTEMA me notificaba que como yo ya había APROBADO el exámen ya no podía tener acceso. Le dejo saber esto a la señora, y sin decirme nada, se pone a hablar con otro de sus colegas, y minutos después me entrega el examen de señales IMPRESO. En minutos se lo regreso, lo apruebo, me pide mi licencia del otro estado, yo de ingenua se la entrego, y le hace un hoyo.... HORRIBLE!!!! ESA GENTE NO DEBERÍA TRABAJAR EN UN LUGAR DONDE EL FUNDAMENTO ES TRATAR BIEN A LOS CLIENTES, AYUDARLOS, RESPONDER DE FORMA RESPETUOSA SUS PREGUNTAS... EN SERIO, PARA QUE TRABAJAN EN ALGO ASÍ, SI NO TIENEN ÉTICA. ENTRAN AHÍ POR DEDAZO? POR COMPADRAZGO? POR INFLUENCIAS? QUÉ LÁSTIMA Y QUE FEO.. AHH Y NO PUDE CONCLUIR EL TRÁMITE DE UNO DE MIS HIJOS... OBVIO ACUDIRÉ A OTRO DMV A VER SI TENGO MEJOR SUERTE.

My husband came in for his behind the wheel test with an appointment time of 1050. We were early and they took him in right away. His examiner Gabriel, was extremely professional and kind. He went out of his way to make sure my husband does well with his test. He was there to help him and not scare him to death unlike other examiners in other field offices who seems to enjoy intimidating people. I can't say enough good things about the staff here. Everyone is smiling and all willing to help. I hope they get recognized and become models of the other DMVs

To be clear, I don't blame the employees -- they work hard and do their best to help everyone. The real issue is that there just aren't enough staff members for such a large department. If you plan to come here, I strongly recommend reserving a spot online ahead of time. It saves you from hours of waiting. My tip: leave your house when there are about 5 people ahead of you and give yourself around 15 minutes to get there. Just be aware that slots aren't always available, so you might still end up waiting in line. One thing to note: cellular reception inside is really bad, but thankfully the Wi-Fi works well. On the positive side, the restroom here is clean and well-maintained, so no complaints there.

I said something about discrimination and was immediately told if I did that I could have my license suspended for a year. On my 2nd try before we started I asked the instructor if he could see my speedometer and he said yes its digital when indeed its not. this test was taken in a 2015 GMC Sierra 4x4 where the speedometer is on the right side on the dash board making it difficult to see from the passenger seat. Reason for bringing that up is they were marking me too fast or too slow. Among other things as well. And nothing I can do about it without recourse.
