Arizona Mountain Inn & Cabins

We stayed in Cabin 6 which boasts a lovely deck and magical mountain views. There is a bed upstairs in the loft, and a bedroom downstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to whip up a good meal. I brought my own cast iron skillet and cooking gear packed in my camping supplies but ended up using what was in the cabin kitchen and it was perfect! No tv so you get to truly unwind, and enjoy the mountain air and cabin beauty. Loved it so much going back next month.

Stay away! Dishonest owner!…read more If you read this entire post, thank you. It is long but I thought carefully before I posted because after reading previous Yelp and Google reviews, I see the owner thoughtfully replies and defends her property, while trying to discount the feelings of the reviewer whenever something negative is posted. On 8/1/24 I booked a stay at Arizona Mountain Cabins and Inn (which I will shorten to AZMCI going forward) through my credit card's points website which uses Expedia. The price point that came up for Cabin 9 from 8/16-8/18 was $72 per night. I booked it easily enough. That evening I received an email from the owner, Mary. You can read screenshot below, but basically she said there was a pricing error beyond her control, and wanted to know if I still want the reservation at $172 per night. It was late and I did not respond. The next day I received three missed phone calls and one voicemail from AZMCI. I called Expedia twice that day first, told them the situation and asked if AZMCI was required to honor the price. Both people I spoke with said the stay was already paid for, so there are no issues with the price. I then called AZMCI and talked briefly with someone before Mary came on the phone. Our conversation was 7 minutes long. I was very calm when speaking with her. Told her that this was not the first time I had an issue booking with them. The last time was before Covid and I booked a one night stay over a weekend. I remember getting a call soon after and whoever I spoke with at the time said it was a two-night minimum and asked if I still want the reservation. I was not able to stay more than one night at the time, so I cancelled it. When I told this to Mary, she did not seem phased by my previous experience, nor my current experience and only about her bottom line. Mary did say that $72 would not even pay for the cleaning. She did offer me a stay in the lodge and a reduced rate, which I also declined because I was bringing my dogs and they are not allowed in the lodge. In the end, I told her I need to think about it and I will be in contact. In 8/3/24, I replied to Mary's email where I said she should make it right (see image). On 8/5/24, I replied simply saying, 'I am sure you had a busy weekend. Please reply.' I waited longer. Later on 8/5/24, I receive an email from Expedia say that I have been banned (see image). I called Expedia and they contacted AZMCI because they still saw the reservation in the system still. The agent told me that I cannot stay at their property because I was banned back in 2018. If I was banned, why would she offer me another room and ask me if I still wanted the reservation? Mary was not able to cancel my reservation, so she tried to manipulate me into doing myself. When I wouldn't budge, she made up that I was banned. Hey, I know Mary has a business to run and a bottom line, but as the owner, she had the power to make it right for the guest. I hope you think again before booking this property. And Mary, I eagerly await your response and hope you are honest in what you say. Without guests, you are nothing but empty cabins.

We are spread out across the…read more country , so we try to get together each fall and travel to some place in the mountains for some great camaraderie. This year we picked Flagstaff. This year we had 6 guys that were able to make the trip. Since everyone wants their own bedroom and bathroom, the cabin has to be rather large. This year we found this place which had everything we were looking for, from bathroom and bedroom count, to location near National Parks and National Monuments. We started checking to see if it was available for the time we wanted and found it was. Then, I contacted Lisa L ( the owner) and found her to be the best to work with. She was extremely nice and helpful, and we were in business quickly. Upon arrival, we found everything to be exactly as she had told us. The cabin was probably the best stocked place that we've stayed. They had everthing from multiple types of coffee to anything you would need to cook with. They also had 2 different BBQ grills ( gas and Treager) that we made good use of. The bathrooms were fully stocked with bath tissue, shampoos, and soaps, and they had tons of paper towels. This property butts up to a national forest and has a small fishing pond on the front of the property. The man cave had multiple fishing rods for your use at the pond. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for that. This location is centrally located. It is near Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon, Painted Desert, and Sedona. We hit all of those places and had a great time. We enjoyed this place so much, and Lisa was such a great lady to work with, that our group has already decided that we will return:-)
