Plus there weren't dressers, so we couldn't even rely on the closets to store clothes. *There were crumbs in all the kitchen drawers. *There was pet hair everywhere -- including on the counters and on appliances. *The bathroom rugs looked like they hadn't been washed for years. Flawless. This is the one!…read more After a long search of the Northern AZ VRBOs for a 4 night stay for 9, we found ClassyCabinsAZ and booked Bearly-A-Cabin for Thanksgiving! The Cabin: Oftentimes something looks better on the Internet than reality, however this was not the case with Bearly-A-Cabin. We drove in from Monument Valley on Wednesday evening and were absolutely floored. You think it looks fantastic in the pictures? It's better! The cabin was absolutely spotless floor to ceiling, and is literally a *complete* home. How complete? We prepared Thanksgiving dinner for 9 here. What did we need to bring to prepare it? Just the food. Everything else was here - baking pans, settings, dishes for numerous sides, cutlery, and every other item needed. Giant dining room table, solid wood and awesome. It isn't like a hotel room or suite - it's a fully operational HOME with literally everything you have in your own and more. Just show up with groceries and you're set for anything. The cabin layout is amazing - very large great room with a sofa at least 2x large as your own, fully stocked kitchen as mentioned above, tons of sleeping options with the 2 king bedrooms ( beds are awesome ) and the 2 bunk rooms + the loft, game room with pool table, decks on both sides of the house and an ACRE of land for hanging out and playing with your kids. The property lines are well marked with rows of large rocks so you know where "your" land is! Being outside on the property was serene - clean air, quiet, relaxing! The Area: This is your home base. We did Grand Canyon, Williams for the Polar Express, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, and Sedona. Nothing is further than 60 miles. Very ideal location if you want to hit the National Parks and Monuments. We left during the first snow on Sunday morning, I bet the place is even more fun with some snow cover! They have sleds and snow toys in a deck box in the front. We joked that even if we just stayed at the cabin and went nowhere it would have been awesome. You just want to be in it, it is so well done and decorated. If you group is large, don't fret - the cabin is plenty large! From initial contact through the end of our stay the process was smooth and painless. Excellent communication from our hosts Amy and Steve throughout! Very quick replies to my many questions prior to booking, as well as after all monies were transferred. The excellent service did not stop with payment in full. So glad we found and booked this - we will be back.

Why would they not let people know befor booking, Im sure its not good for babies, elderly or low immune systems.

On our first morning, we arrived at the restaurant around 10:45 a.m. and were told breakfast service was ending. Our only options were to wait for lunch or try room service, which wasn't guaranteed. This was especially frustrating given how far our room was from the dining area. We asked the front desk if we could place a room service order without returning to our room. Although the concierge tried to help, no one followed up for about 15 minutes. While our server was kind, the manager, Ryan, made no effort to resolve the situation or take accountability. Despite the dining area being nearly empty, we were told we could not be seated and had to take our breakfast to go. Hoping for better service the next day, we ordered room service again and were told the wait would be one hour. Our food arrived an hour and twenty minutes later. We were also told the Duck Pond pool was open 24 hours, but when we arrived it was dark, unattended, covered in dirty towels, and had no clean towels available, giving the impression it was closed. While the setting is stunning, the disorganization and lack of service significantly impacted our stay.

Especially the RN's who work Labor & Delivery) The campground was covered in snow (February) and so I cannot comment about the showers/restrooms/laundromat, etc. as these services are not available in the winter. However, this just means more available spaces to park or camp (they have sites for tents, Campers, big 5th wheels with slide-outs and huge motor coaches they have new 50amp sites for with easy pull in access! Sites are big enough and signage is good. The one thing I would suggest is during the summer, they need to somehow mark the driving pathways so they can easily be distinguished from campsites when snowfall covers the ground. We accidentally drove thru some tent sites getting to our reserved 30amp space in the very back of the campground. No harm done - but my sweet hubby who was driving in was getting quite grumpy how awkward it was to park - only to later realize that if we would have followed the roadway, it would've made a lot more sense and been so much easier! Once we parked, Water and Electric hook ups were quite easy, and each site had a picnic table with plenty of room for parking we even had room at our site for an extra car to park. We thought we would only be there a couple of nights, but due to complications with the birth we ended up having to stay more nights and even asked for a late checkout, and both needs were met by office staff with such kindness and understanding. By the way, definitely make some time to shop around the store. Besides supporting your local community businesses, they have some excellent products for a VERY tasty charcuterie board, light lunch and snacks to take back to your campsite or pack up to go on a hike! My last comment is about marking your GPS coordinates if you are on any site at the back (closest to the brick wall) where the new 50amp and 30amp sites are. Apple Maps, Google Maps & Waze will all mark correct GPS coordinates, however, when you switch to an address, it will tell you that you are on the next street over as if you are one of the apartments on the other side, of the brick wall. In fact, even the sites across from our not up against the brick wall, still show an address using the street name "Pico Del Monte Circle" on the other side of the brick wall where the apartments are located. This is pretty important if you are using your location finder to give somebody else directions to where you are or using apps like Instacart or DoorDash. I did use DoorDash while we were there and the driver had to call and I had to explain how to get into the campground.. this has nothing to do with Woody Mountain Campground and everything to do with the map situation. I did report it to Apple and Google. Hopefully it will get fixed but as of today, i see that has not been fixed. (may 2026)

And the kitchen actually has been upgraded all modern shiny new. The one bedroom is not exactly a suite as the bedroom is separated with an open sort of not all the way to the ceiling partially walled off design, which provides some privacy but no noise barrier, but the set up is nice enough and the vaulted ceiling with skylight adds to the appeal. The kitchen is all modern and includes everything but an oven. Dishwasher (no garbage disposal) full sized refrigerator, 4 induction cooktop, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, all dishes bowls and utensils including for cooking, and a pot and pan. Fireplace more for show than heating but a nice touch. There is an hvac unit for heating and AC. Ours was the disabled end unit which is nice being on the end but no tub. The bathroom sink was completely stuffed with hair which I unclogged with my fingers and the pipe underneath was not connected or broken such that water went straight through onto the floor. We checked in around 6pm and the after hours front desk person said to just call in the morning for the repair. I would have asked for a discount or free night due to this but the front desk people including Matthew were so nice and also so quick to send their maintenance that I didn't ask. It was inconvenient to have the workers there while we were getting ready to leave but they got the job done pretty quickly. Would recommend would return.

They have several separate apartments available, though my group stayed in the Enchantment suite so I can only speak to that one. The apartment itself was very nice and well kept. We did run into a couple of issues. First, the friend who booked the room for us through Air BnB sent the owner an email around a month before our arrival asking several questions about the area and, most importantly, about early check in. He never responded to that email, other than the morning of our arrival to text her saying no early check in. Gee, thanks for the prompt and helpful information. Also, as far as the actual accommodations go, there are plenty of pots/pans/silverware/glasses to actually make some of your meals here. The one thing I will say is that the sink is totally ridiculous and should be fixed. It's a bit hard to succinctly describe, but the type of sprayer that is on there is meant to be on a differently oriented handle, not one of the tall U shaped ones. So essentially what happens is if you turn the water on all the way the inappropriate and unwieldy sprayer will spray you or the countertops. You have to keep the water on a fairly low setting to keep it and the sprayer in the sink. Also, places like this should really come stocked with toilet paper and a sponge for dishes. These are just normal necessities that you should not have to go to the grocery store for. Other than that, it was a beautiful place and it even had a hot tub that we enjoyed sipping some champagne in one night. Just about 1-1.5 miles up the road there are multiple trailhead entrances. I hiked part of the Jordan trail one morning and it had some pretty beautiful views of the red rock formations. We also walked the opposite direction into town a few times and we enjoyed the shops and restaurants of uptown. I might look for another place next time I visit just based on the owner's lack of communication, but we definitely enjoyed ourselves during this rental.
