After 4 days they said they dont know what the problem is, but for a extra 200 they could put some piece in my catalatic converter of for 500 change it. My issue was an engine problem it was shaking when i drove it. It had nothing to do with the catalytic converter. it wasnt getting compression. The mechanic didn't even speak english. I dont know if they even did the work i paid for. I took it to another mechanic who is Caucasian and he told me it wasn't getting compression as the valves weren't opening fully and there is build up of carbon in the engine. He didnt even charge me for a diagnostic. Which took him a few hours to complete. I will never go to Deans again. I paid hard earned money and still got screwed over.

This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with auto mechanics. In fact, I can't recall a…read moresingle negative experience with any of the similar business's we've associated with in the past. (Experience in three provinces btw). I was in the middle of finding a new place for my car to be taken care of in Edmonton. When I chose this family owned business from a long list of search results on google, I was quite confident that I might not have to look any further. I really wanted it to work out the way I expected according to my previous experience in other provinces. Well, it didn't happen. It seems that these guys used to be good, but it is a thing of the past. What they are really good at is signing invoices. It took them hours to get the new tires for my car and they spent another 2+ hours for the "team of two guys" to mount them. Laughable. The job is usually finished by one guy at the slowest pace being one hour. On top of that, despite their REPEATED reassurance that the new tires will be no older than 2016 (slick dude David, the receptionist), the "new" tires that they ALREADY installed were almost 2 y.o.! Again, I learned this fact AFTER the tires were already installed. If they didn't lie, I would shop somewhere else (www.1010tires.com/ emailed me that the same exact tires made in early 2017 were available). I thought that this would be the end to their "creativity"... boy was I wrong! When I asked if the balancing of tires was needed after the installation, they said - "oh NO". It almost did not surprise me when I found out that they did quite a sh*tty job with tire balancing 20 minutes later while I was driving on the highway... I would never trust these guys with tuning or even cleaning my bicycle, let alone my car: you simply don't know what to expect. I will try my luck and bring my business to more trustworthy mechanics.
