We had an overnight in Effingham and were thrilled to find good Thai food! The little lady running the place was friendly and funny; she warned me that ordering our dishes Hot would "make you cry." Fortunately we knew what we were getting into. The heat was JUST RIGHT, medium for me on the red curry tofu, and hot for hubby's pad ped pork. Both were top notch. We stopped here for takeout on our drive cross country. The woman who works here made us delicious food, and was very kind and charming. Then, while we were out front eating in our car (Covid-times!), she brought us a bag of chips from Thailand, to snack on during the drive!!! She is possibly an actual angel. read more

Am from out-of-town, and eat at Asian restaurants in bigger cities often, but in the opinion of both my wife and I the taste and freshness of the food in this place in little Effingham, IL surpasses anywhere else we've been. The prior reviews of this place must be pre-pandemic. The food was not good, at all. The meat tasted old in my Pho, the green curry wasn't green, the potsticker meat was not good. The service was subpar, and the establishment was dimly lit and unwelcoming. When I tried to switch out my plate for something more satisfactory, the person working there yelled at me and refused to switch out my order. I would never recommend this place. read more

Our first visit to this restaurant was a success! On 1/4/22 we had the pot stickers, the crab rangoons, the cashew chicken, and the red curry with chicken. All items were fresh, hot and flavorful. The red curry was our favorite. Service was very good and very helpful with menu choices for first time customers. New, little hole in the wall restaurant in Effingham on Keller Dr. I work in Effingham and was told to try this place. We were brought soup which tasted great. Ordered egg rolls and they were super. The entrée wasn't the best but I would give them another chance. Only had one waitress and most of the tables were filthy when we walked down. During the 45 minutes we were there she managed to clean them off. Cleanliness is very important to me and if they want to continue to do well then they will need to hire more staff. The wait was about 45 minutes for the entree. read more

Wow! We ordered Pad Thai and Green Curry to go and they were both delicious. We were on a road trip from California and passing through Effingham and did not expect much from a Thai restaurant here. But they certainly delivered on food quality, cleanliness, and customer service. We are now sipping our ice coffees on the road. If we are ever in town, we will be coming back! read more

We had lunch here today. I think it's worth trying when we drive through Effingham again, but what we ate today was definitely on the bland side. It was fresh, savory and nicely presented, but it was definitely not spicy. Some of this may because the staff member who took our order doesn't speak the best English. My husband asked for an extra spicy beef salad, and it wasn't any spicier than my rather bland Larb. There's a lot of room for improvement here. Perhaps they could use a 1-5 chili chart to indicate degrees of spiciness as many other Thai restaurants do. read more

So happy to see some delicious "non-chain" cultural restaurants start to break into the Effingham food scene! This place has legit Thai home style food! I have been there 15-20 times and NEVER have I had a bad experience! The Yum Tom soup is super flavorful, Pad Thai is always promptly gobbled up by our kids, & they prepare the dishes quickly and with just enough spice for whatever you are recommending. "Medium spice" is what I usually go for, but keep in mind... it is Midwestern Medium spice, so if you like "burn your tongue off" spicy foods... be sure to ask for extra spicy! Highly recommended if you want something authentic and not your "run of the mill" chain food! read more

Horrible everything! 1. Ordered Chicken Satay appetizer $6.95: It did not include the peanut dipping sauce. It was under cooked -i can see some part of chicken still light pink. Tasted bland because it was not marinated. They just brushed on a seasoning and it did not flavor well. 2. Ordered the Seafood Combo thai dish $13.99: it was horrible. They used a bag of frozen seafood mix ..like from walmart. Included musseks w/out shell, squid, shrimp, and artificial crab meat. Really did taste like walmart seafood mix frozen . 3. Ordered bottled water and extra white rice $4.00: no one can mess this up 4. I WAS PURPOSELY OVER CHARGED! $32.00 for all with tax. Little old lady argued with me. Said the difference was tax and they have raised the price on the seafood dish without adjusting their menu price or telling me ahead before i ordered. It was now $15.99. NOW DO SOME MATH. $15.99 + $6.95 + $4.00 + tax 6.25% does not equal $32.00 !!! That should equal $28.62. In fact, I should have refused to pay the undisclosed price. Eventually i had to show her the math on my phone. Then she backed down and apologized. I knew she was trying to take advantage. I could tell. Restaurant was completely dead. I was the only one customer at 12 noon. There was an old man laying on bed behind the counter watching tv..strange. I really think they are a struggling business now. And it is unfortunately showing. You can have a kind heart and help this business owner survive by eating there...But be ready to be taken advantage of and be disappointed by the experience. read more

What a great find off the highway! In an area that I've always thought of as a food desert, I was pleased to eat well-prepared Thai food in such a friendly establishment. The couple who run the place were very pleasant and accommodating, and the menu is quite extensive for such a small restaurant. My wife, son and I are from Chicago and have eaten at numerous Thai restaurants over the years, so we're picky when it comes to Thai food. This food tasted authentic, and is as good as most Thai places I've been to in Chicago. The tofu pad thai was very tasty, though I could have used a few less bean sprouts and more noodles. My son and wife ordered chicken dishes (basil chicken for my wife; can't remember which my son ordered), both of which were well prepared and tasty. The service, while friendly, wasn't as organized as it could be, with my dinner showing up about 10 minutes before my wife's. But with a small, family-run establishment, that's to be expected. We all enjoyed our Tum Yum and Tom Ka Kai soups, as well as the veggie spring rolls. If we're ever driving down Highway 57 again through southern Illinois, we'll be sure to come back. read more

This is a hidden gem, conveniently located, close to the HWY. Absolutely love the authentic thai food. Ordered the pad thai, best I've had... ever... And I love pad thai. We also got the jungle curry, an excellent choice, especially if you like spicy food like I do! Came with a free desert of watermelon slices to cool the spice. Oh, and the egg rolls (appetizer) with homemade sweet and sour sauce, are an absolute must! Next time we drive through we will visit! read more

So happy this place is here! It opened a few months ago and I did not have a chance to go right away, but have been there 4 times now, 2 dine in and 2 take out. The food is delicious. I've had several things and they've all been good, but probably my favorite are the crab rangoon (and thanks to Kelsy K., the Yelp reviewer who turned me on to these - you are right, they are great, even after the 7 minute drive home), the ginger chicken and the Woon Sen Phad Thai. Beef fried rice also delicious. The couple who run this place (Thai, of course) are very nice. Service is good. If you are coming of the highway this place is only about 3 minutes off of either of the 2 main Effingham exits and well worth the extra 2 minutes instead of the usual fast food places. I've been to Thailand three times and it is so wonderful to have a taste of Thailand right here in Effingham! read more

I'm so glad we found this place on our way back to New Jersey! We ordered the fish patty appetizer, drunken noodles, seafood basil entree, and green curry. Everything was made hot, fresh, and fast. The fish patty appetizer was generous in portion size and came with a nice sweet cucumber sauce. My favorite was the seafood basil which was loaded with different kinds of seafood like mussels, squid, fish, and shrimp. It had a really nice charred flavor to it too. If we ever stop by in this neighborhood again we will surely make sure to come back. Excellent and fresh food! We stopped here on a road trip and we'll definitely be stopping by again! Our server was very friendly, kind, and the food came out quickly. We ordered the potstickers appetizer and they were delicious. Perfectly lightly fried, tasty filling, and the dipping sauce was flavorful. We were also brought a bowl of chicken and noodle soup which was very tasty! Our server recommended the orange colored chili sauce for the soup; we added one spoonful and it added a nice spice but not overbearing! We ordered the drunk noodles and sweet & sour chicken entrees. Both medium heat. Very tasty, not too spicy, fresh veggies, and appropriately portioned. The proportions of meat to veggies to rice/noodles was excellent. We were also brought orange slices with our entree which was a nice touch! Very juicy and fresh orange. You pay at the counter so need to wait at the table for the check like we did! Ordered basil chicken it's sorta my standard when trying new Thai places ... nice people a very friendly owner but the food was terrible . There was no basil in my basil chicken lol.
