Several weeks ago I visited Classic Pianos. I was planning to look at several stores and was certainly not planning to make a purchase that day. A friend came with me and after a few minutes while we looked around (what a wonderful inventory they carry!), Don West, the general manager, who's been selling pianos for 35+ years, came over to ask if he could help. I told him that I was only interested in upright pianos. He asked what price range I planned on and I told him I was open, but not planning to spend $20-30,000!!! With that information, he proceeded to talk about the various string length of uprights, various manufacturers I didn't even know made pianos...like China and Korea, and taught me a lot as we looked around with him. He easily spent an hour with us, maybe more. He was extremely patient and didn't in any way pressure me. He helped me narrow down how many pianos interested me, then left me alone to play them all. After playing those I had picked out, I found one that I wanted and didn't feel I had to look anywhere else. The sound was awesome, the touch was light. So I bought that piano! I had to call Don over, as the store had closed for the evening, though no one bothered us. I told him of my decision and he told me I had picked an excellent piano, and was sure I would be happy with it. Begrudgingly accepting the reality that the century-old and hopelessly out of tune used upright piano we scored off Craigslist last year would no longer suffice for our burgeoning pianist's needs, I began shopping for a replacement piano and quickly learned of Classic Pianos. Mr. Baker and his team at Classic Pianos treated my family and me with utmost care and respect as we perused their fabulous inventory. Given that this was our first purchase of a "real" piano, we were novices trying to find an instrument well-suited for our eight-year-old daughter. My wife and I were in search of a piano for her birthday and wanted to visit a few stores to see what our options were, as well as, what was available. We live in the Longmont area and noticed that there weren't many piano specific stores near us. We saw that the Lakewood, englewood, and southern denver area had quite a few more stores in close proximity to one another and so we headed that direction prepared to visit multiple stores, compare prices, compare availability, and educate ourselves on what types of pianos were out there and which piano would be the best fit for us. This piano store rocks! Our friend recommended this store to us and we really loved this piano store, not only because of the highest quality of the Yamaha pianos, but also because of Bob, a musician who worked for CLASSIC PIANOS. He is incredibly generous, friendly, and knowledgeable! He is hard working and knows his business and is willing to work with you and learn what your needs are. For any questions you may have, he is always ready with an answer. He even helped us look for several good piano teachers for my 7 years old boy. The store is much bigger and spacious than other piano stores I had been to. There are a great variety of upright and grand pianos, brand new and used ones. Since neither my husband nor I know Pianos, so Bob spent quite a lot of time in explaining the structures of the pianos, the strengths and weakness of different kinds of pianos, etc. He played several pianos and let us hear the difference. This store provides a "trade in" program. For example, if you buy an upright piano in their store and want to change it to be a grand piano, you can pay the difference between the prices of 2 pianos and just bring your old one back and get the new one. If you're shopping for a piano, Classic Pianos Denver is THE store to visit. They have been on Broadway for as long as I can remember and have a great showroom and a history of excellence. The sales staff is very knowledgeable and friendly (and patient!). We were not planning on buying a piano that day, as we were building a new house and didn't have a place for it yet, but were in the area and stopped in to look around. We were in scuzzy clothes with dried paint on them from working on the house and they treated us like top tier customers. We had a wonderful experience and they helped us get a better piano than we ever thought we could afford. They have a great variety of piano brands and sizes, both used and new, so there is something for everyone. We purchased a Mason & Hamlin BB and couldn't be happier. It is beautiful and has an amazing full American sound. They stored the piano for us until our house was finished and we could take delivery. I have been wanting my dream piano for years, and just wasn't able to make that kind of financial decision, as I'm a professional pianist, and am very, and I mean very picky about pianos. I already owned 5 pianos, 2 grands, 1 upright and 2 digitals. We went to Classic Pianos about 6 months ago to start the piano shopping process and we spoke with Bob who was very helpful and answered the 100 questions we threw at him very politely and professionally. If he didn't know an answer he would go look it up for us. We told them up front that we would not be purchasing that day and everyone was very kind and not pushy at all. I was looking to purchase a baby grand piano from a friend who had one that was about 20 years old, but in great condition. My son suggested that we not only look at her piano but other ones to make sure this is what I wanted. We stopped by Onofrio about a month ago and a gentleman was locking the doors when we got there. He let us go in and introduced us to Bob who took us around the showroom to look at the pianos. He was very respectful and didn't try to rush us even though they were already closed. Instead, he was informative about the different types of pianos and didn't put any pressure on us to purchase. A few days later, we decided to go ahead and purchase the brand new Young Chang Y-150 since it had a warranty plus a lifetime 100% full trade up and it was not much more than what my friend was asking. Thrilled with my new Ritmuller GH160R 5' 3" grand. My sales person (Don) was very knowledgeable and played two pieces (one of which was quite difficult to play) that I brought in so I could hear the differences in three models. He pointed out the tonal qualities of the three brands and was not pushy about any of them. The Rittmuller was clearly a better instrument than the Yamaha and Hailun I was considering. Plus I was able to get the larger (and therefore better sounding) 5' 3" for about the same price as the smaller Yamaha. The Rittmuller has very nice sound quality for a small grand with a pleasant resonant bass and smooth transitions between bass, tenor and treble registers. Action is very nice. The piano was delivered by Extreme Piano Movers. They worked with me to rent a material lift to get the piano to my second floor, communicated well and were very professional. Very pleased with Classic Pianos, Extreme Piano Movers and the Rittmuller. read more

We were looking to buy a baby grand and Bob Baker took a very good care of us. He showed us several Yamahas new and used within our target price range. We were interested in a particular used one that just came in at that time and Bob reserved it for us to try after quickly tuning it. We visited the shop several times to test different pianos and Bob was always very patient with us. He was also very informative about pros and cons of each model that we were considering. In the end, we were able to make a very informed decision on our purchase and are very happy with the one we got (which ended up a different one from the one mentioned above). Our old upright piano was traded-in for a good price and we also took advantage of the zero interest financing option. Overall, it was excellent shopping experience. We are incredibly happy with our new CLP 645. The sounds are absolutely amazing. I have played through the free book of music that came with the keyboard. Piano was my major instrument as a Music Ed major, some 40 years ago...I played a good 90% of these pieces throughout my piano study years and have enjoyed being reacquainted with them all over again in a range of ability levels!!! What a total joy now in retirement! Our visit to the store was also a real joy since Bob Baker is incredibly knowledgeable regarding the instruments they are selling and was helpful in quickly discerning the line that would be most appropriate for us. He also allowed us time to explore them on our own after a short demonstration. He was more than able to answer our questions! AND the price was right! Our experience at Classic Pianos was great. I worked with Bob Baker to purchase a Yamaha U3. As a former used car salesman, I did my research and anticipated a back and forth with the sales team over price. There was no need for that as Bob was straightforward, helpful, and fair. Not only did I get a great price, but they had all of the finishes and models we were interested in available on the showroom, taking the guesswork out of ordering something we hadn't seen. They had the piano in stock, helped me fit in a quick delivery before Christmas and included a home tuning as well. In addition, you can't beat their trade-in guarantee. Upon trade-in of the used piano you purchased new from them, they will refund the price you paid (minus tax) and apply it toward the purchase of another piano.
