This shop is nothing like it was under the previous owner. First attempt to obtain an estimate was met with, "The estimators are at lunch and on a job, pls come back." Second attempt to obtain an estimate was no more successful. The staff had to take photos to send them off for an estimate. Seems they could've taken the images on our first visit. Parting words on our second visit, "We'll email you the estimate early next week." Week later, no estimate. This shop did great work prior, every bay had a tech working, and the office staff knew cars. We saw 3 techs working, most bays are empty, and the staff doesn't know vehicles. Save yourself a wasted trip and go elsewhere. This shop won't last long. read more

Paint match seems excellent, body gaps are better than pre collision, all inner fender, bumper and under hood clips and fasteners were replaced correctly. I had my car here during the transfer of ownership when Rick bought this from Larry at David's Collision as it became Classic Collision. Our car appeared to slip through the cracks and had some stuff that wasn't fixed to the level I felt it should have been. Rick, the new owner, had me bring the car back in so he could put eyes on it personally. He got me scheduled to suit me best, with a rental, and then completed the work perfectly within 36 hours of me dropping the car off. As a car guy I went over the touch ups with a fine tooth comb so to speak. I even brought a light to make sure I wasn't missing anything. The GM, Mrs. D, made sure I was completely satisfied before I left. Then Rick reached out to confirm I was pleased, as he started the touch up process and not only was his new business name on the repair, but also his personal name as he worked with me. I was a little apprehensive at first because I had such good experiences with the previous owner and my friends had been going for almost 20 years. I can say that Rick and Mrs. D are working hard to get some new systems in place to modernize and make this shop more efficient than it ever was while maintaining the tremendously talented repair team. I dropped my suburban off for rear passenger side repair from accident. when I picked up the car it had been washed and the hood looked as if someone dried it with sandpaper. The scratches were obvious and matched the windshield dry marks. I advised owner the vehicle WAS NOT in that condition when dropped off. He looked at it, felt it and said it was damaged like this from the sun and heat off the engine. I said no way-he was firm it was from sun and heat. NO WAY. I asked how do I fix this now and he said hood would have to be stripped and repainted. I asked cost and was told $1100. I met with another body shop and they said it was not sun damage. They said it appeared to have been to dried with a dirty towel. I am considering a lawsuit. The suburban is only 8 years old and never had a damaged paint issue due to heat. Tool my wife's G37 to get a door ding on the front right fender fixed that I thought would surely require paint work. Once Robert V. Realized there was no missing paint on the car, he recommended pointless dent repair would do the fix. He also found a couple other spots that could be repaired. I agreed and with the extra $$$ I saved I had them resurface and powder coat the wheels the had some minor curb rash on them. Dropped off the car on a Wednesday morning and picked it up on Thursday. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Much better service than the chain body repair shops taking over all around town. read more

Unfortunately, I did not get to utilize their repair services because my car was totaled. *wail!* David Collision was where my car was towed to get evaluated by their certified auto claims adjuster. I would like to give a higher rating, but in all honesty, there was not much interaction between me and the staff to develop a relationship. That being said, I am unable to review their quality of repair services. This review is only regarding my dealings with this business with my insurance company and the process of severing ties to my poor little automobile. In all my phonecalls, the staff was polite and answered all my questions with no issue. I asked for the adjuster to provide me an update with the verdict after he checked it out. The adjuster I spoke with was polite, frank, and straight-forward in his assessment. When the verdict was passed by the insurance company, I was given the sad news that my car was a total loss. When I arrived to clear my car, it was evident that David Collision Repair has no shortage of business (especially with the recent bad winter weather). The staff was polite, but I felt no warmth or connection. They were all about business, but that's not a bad thing, they had so many customers coming in and out the doors. Kudos to the gentleman who repeatedly (and without complaint) agreed to my requests of grabbing tools and razors on various occasions to help me take my license plates off and to scrape some stickers off my windows. All in all, they got the job done for me in the short interactions we had. read more

I told him I needed a fender and headlight assembly put on...I also said I'm ordering the part because it's discontinued. He got upset and said no, we don't do that. I told him if they had a part I'd use that also. He said this isn't how we do things ... I asked for a manager , he said he was one. I asked for the owner and he said .... I backed up to a service station island watching out my open driver door but caught the corner of the door on the concrete island. The door then hung down almost 2 inches & wouldn't latch... Stopped by at another GTOWN body shop; hoping to self-pay...guy looked and gave a verbal estimate of $3K to $4K. Decided I had to bite the bullet, incur likely premium increase, and report to State Farm, --and pay $500 deductible. Chose David Collision Repair Center to have estimate & work done. David Collision employee went out to photograph & estimate damage. Ten minutes later, I was told the door had been fixed, using a large socket wrench socket & years of experience! I called State Farm & withdrew my claim. I was not charged, by D. C. C., (& of course I was given the option of claiming, & paying $500 for the small remaining inconspicuous wrinkle to be taken out of the door)... No thanks!, (it's a 2009 WORK TRUCK.) David will be first place i visit if I ever do anything big to a vehicle. I owe them! - I did not have 500.00 - or time - to claim, & wait, and secure a rental etc!!! - Would like to have handed them a C note but it wasn't accepted! I've been blessed... read more

Had a broken hood latch on my Mazda. The owner came out and tried to fix it by hand (for no charge), and ended up giving me a good deal on the new part+repair when we couldn't fix the old part. I went back for an insurance repair on my wife's Subaru (someone hit it while we were parked) and they did great work in a short time. Highly recommended. read more

After using them in the past, I took my 2016 Ram truck in to David Collision Repair to see what could be done to a couple of scratches that were really bugging me. Larry David, the owner, came out personally and assessed the damage. Instead of insisting that the whole door needed to be painted, he checked the color code for my year truck and then mixed up a small amount of paint which he meticulously applied with a toothpick...and didn't charge me a thing! Now I can hardly tell where the scratches are. With this type of service I would highly recommend David Collision Repair for any auto body work and we will continue to use them exclusively. read more

They did an excellent job on my repair which required a new door skin and paint. Although they had to keep my car an extra day and a half longer than anticipated (they did offer to give me a loaner car for that time), the paint job was perfect, pinstripe and all! (1st time I have had a car repaired with no complaints.) Only suggestion I could make would be improved communication on vehicle status. read more

This review gets 3 stars because of two glaring flaws I found when using David Collision. First let me start by saying the people were very nice and professional, and the work they did on the actual part that needed repairing is about 98% flawless. I can tell it was repaired, but no one else on earth would ever notice. So one star docked for each flaw I found, and they are as such: First item is that I had a scratch on my driver side door that I needed to have repainted. The scratch was repainted and everything looks great, however when I was going over the receipt I notice that they charged me (or my insurance company) money to have the window tint replaced. Now why on earth would that need to be replaced to repair a scratch on the outside of the door? Basically they scratched or ruined the tint during the door repair, and had to re-tint the window. Not only did they not tell me they were going to do that, they charged me to do so! The tint is also not the same film type as the other windows, and the workmanship is not as good. I knew a professional tinter back in DC and he micro filed my edges and used top notch tint. The tint David charged me for and replaced was not micro filed - the edge at the top isnt even that straight. Again, I can live with it, but find it odd that I wasnt told about it, and was also charged for it when it clearly was done to fix a mistake they made during the repair process. The second was on the time needed to repair the vehicle. I know it is impossible to predict how long it will take, but I always subscribe to the mantra of 'under promise, over deliver'. They told me it would take 6 days to repair, ended up taking 8. Normally I would not be in a bunch about 2 extra days, however I needed the truck on that 7th day for something and was assured I would have it back. Again, not normally a big deal, but I just would have planned differently if I knew the max days instead of the best case scenario. Who knows maybe they needed that extra day for the tint job. Overall I am happy with the work of the actual repairs and the professionalism of the people working there. Very easy to work with. The tint thing really bothers me though, especially since they didnt say anything or call me beforehand to ask me about what darkness, film type, etc should be put in there.....and then charge me for it anyways. I would use them again, but would need to be more specific next time. read more

My car was side swiped and it sustained damage to the front passenger-side fender and bumper. There was a scraping noise when turning and when hitting bumps. I was worried about continuing to drive the car and causing more problems while dealing with the guy's insurance company. I was referred to David Collision. I took it there this morning for an estimate and for them to look it over for any safety issues that might need to be done immediately. They staff were friendly and professional. They took my car right in. Gave me an estimate and they did a temporary fix to make it safe to drive on for now until I can get the full work done. They didn't even charge me! My wife recently was hit by a kid, we took her vehicle to Davids collision. BIG mistake The first meet was ok. Then when I had cocerns they were rude and told me that I had no say in what was going to be done to my car. I told them I wanted a second op[inion That my adjuster would come look at it to make sure that the proper work was being done. I was then told that if my adjuster looked at the car that they would no longer work on it to pick it up. So I sent a tow truck after it . Davids collision then took all the parts they had removed fender, radiator.etc and threw them into the back seat of my vehicle. Now I have ripped and stained seats from grease in a 2 year old car. I took my car in to have a door repaired that had been backed into. After the initial estimate I was told it was incorrect, they had forgotten to add something, and the estimate went up over $500. Because I have heard several good reviews I decided to use David's for the repair. So far, the repair looks good. However, I give only 3 stars due to the two issues below. I was told repairs would take 8 days and was called on the 7th day that the car was ready. When we went to pick it up my husband and I noticed nicks in the paint that were not there before we dropped the car off. The adviser tried to say they had to be there, but I knew for absolute sure at least one wasn't because it was on the door handle that I open daily for our youngest son to get in. He agreed to have each of the nicks touched up. We waited for that to be done. My husband drove our car from David's to the rental car place for me to drop the rental off. When I got into our car, the smell of paint was horrid. By the time we made the 10 minute drive home I had a headache. The next day the smell was still strong so I called David Collision and asked them how long we should expect to smell paint. I explained to them that unfortunately we had been hit a couple of time before and have had body work done on vehicles and never have I picked up at vehicle that smelled like paint. I stopped by David's for them to smell the car. Larry David said he must just be around paint all day and he couldn't smell anything. He said I was only the 2nd person ever in his career to complain about a paint smell and I must be sensitive to smells. I reminded him that I have picked up vehicles that had body work done before and never have I smelled paint. He suggested I spray fabric freshener and air out the car. He hesitantly offered to have the carpets cleaned by hand and brush if airing the car out didn't work. I took my car home and told my husband I could definitely smell the paint smell more when I turned the a/c on...even when I drove with the windows open. We left every window down and every door propped open for three and a half hours. Then my husband drove my car on an errand with the windows down and the a/c going on high. The errand took about 25 minutes. By the time my husband returned home and rolled up the windows and ran the a/c he thought the smell was less. We left the windows down the rest of the day. By the 3rd day when I had to go to work, the paint smell had definitely faded a lot, but not completely. It took 4 days for my car to no longer smell like paint. On the 4th day, we purchased groceries. When we opened the trunk to put our grocery bags in there we found trash from the repair. Someone had put the dirty, black moldings that had been removed and replaced during the repair in the trunk of my car instead of throwing them away at the shop. Finding the trash in my trunk just pretty sealed the deal of us not using David's Collision Repair again. read more
