The owner of this car will not return phone calls and it is their policy to remove the listing from their web site. But there it is!
    Rolf K.

I will echo what others here have said. These people are a middleman for people who want to sell their classic cars. That means these people have absolutely no idea what they are selling, can't answer any questions for you, and don't even know if the car is still for sale! I found a car I liked on their web site. I called them and inquired about it. The sales guy said he had to contact the seller and would call me back. A week later, he still had not called me back! So, I called him, but got a different sales guy. The new sales guy said there was a lot of interest in that car, and several offers had been made, but the seller never returned phone calls. He told me to hang in there and he would call me back the next day. Three more days go by. I call and talk with the original sales guy. He says the seller is not calling him back. I said, "If the seller doesn't call you back, you should remove the listing from your web site." He agreed and said that is their policy. More on this later... So, I told him I didn't need THAT car. You have literally hundreds of cars on your web site -- let me tell you what I'm looking for. I'm a cash buyer with $45,000 burning a hole in my pocket and I want to buy a car. He said he would help and would call me back later that day after doing some research for me. No phone call by the end of the day... The next day, my phone rings and it's the sales guy! I couldn't believe it! He said he was frustrated, because all 8 of the cars he researched on their web site WERE ALREADY SOLD!!! Then, he tried to pressure me into buying a car I didn't want at a price $13,000 above my maximum range I had given him earlier. When I told him that was not the car for me, he told me, "Good luck finding your car." (I took that to mean he was no longer interested in helping me, and he has not helped me since uttering that final statement.) So, now, several days have passed, and that original car (the one he said was their policy to remove if the seller doesn't return phone calls) is STILL ON THEIR WEB SITE!!! It's really no wonder all their cars are already sold. Oh! I mentioned to both salesmen that nobody ever called me back. Their response was scripted and went something like, "We have xxx number of cars for sale on our web site and we receive yyy number of inquiries per day. We can not possibly call anyone back." Really? You have a customer who ants to give you $45,000 and you just can't find the time to call them back?! Wow! I'm glad business is so good for you! Just avoid these clowns. They really have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

I just picked up my daughters car from Betten Baker in Cadillac and had to pay a $39 (BS)…read moreenvironmental waste disposal and shop supplies fee. When I asked, they could not give me a detailed break down of what was used or disposed of. I was told they charge this on all service work and it is calculated as a % of labor costs with a maximum charge of $39. I was also told this directive comes from the top and not their dealerships management. I did a quick calculation. There are 260 work days annually less 6 standard holidays off which makes it 254 work days a year. If each of their 23 dealerships completes only 15 service orders daily that comes to 87,630 service orders annually. Now lets be conservative and say they charge 1/2 of their maximum $39 which is $18. Multiply the 87,630 service orders by $18 BS fee they are receiving ...wait for it.... They are taking in $1,577,340 annually . Now take into account the mark up on parts is 20-35%, shop labor rate is $120 an hour. We know the mechanic is getting only a small percent of charged labor, and that is ok. I know running an automotive business is expensive so service is where they make the bulk of their profit, but adding on a BS fee like this is nothing more than gouging the customer. Shop supplies and environmental waste disposal are part of the cost of doing business. Why should that be an added on to an already expensive repair bill? When you go to the doctor, do they charge you for exam gloves, tongue depressors, bandages, syringes? Do restaurants have a napkin and tablecloth laundering fee or dish soap and water fee? No, these are the costs of doing business and are built into the cost of the total bill. I doubt I will ever return there.

Godfrey was one of approximately 20 dealerships I contacted regarding their inventory, but was by far the most communicative and polite. In addition, they also had the best pricing available in the country by a considerable margin. On that point alone, and based upon my experiences up to that point with some other dealerships, I would have been willing to put up with substandard customer service. However, I was pleasantly surprised to receive quite the opposite. I'd like to specifically recognize and thank Jared Hurlburt for his exemplary service throughout the process. Despite my being one timezone and 800 miles away, my experience with Godfrey may as well have been that of a them being right down the road from my house. Jared was prompt and patient in answering each and every one of my NUMEROUS emails and voicemails, and walked me through the process, including arranging for delivery of my new car to Kansas City. I've owned over a dozen cars, and none have had a purchasing process so painless. Eight hundred miles away or not--when the time comes to replace my wife's van, I'll definitely be giving Jared and Godfrey Chevrolet a call.

When, I enquired about obtaining car faxes on the two vehicles, I was looking at. I was shocked when the rep, stated, that their business didn't provide car faxes, which was a red flag; for me. I was even more shocked, when I had to educate this rep, who obviously has never worked for a car dealership; in their life before this, about why car dealerships provide car faxes to their customers. The rep. didn't even realize, that a car fax provides a potential buyer with statics and data concerning, accident occurrences, safety rating and over all vehicle ratings. During, our conversation concerning their refusal to provide a car fax, the rep became defensive and stone walled me. Providing me with bad advice about being careful about asking a dealership, about whether their vehicles had ever had any accidents. During our conversation, concerning the mileage on the two vehicles, I was looking at. The rep, read the mileage, which was over the two-hundred thousand mile mark and close to the three hundred thousand mile mark. I politely, remarked about how high the mileage was and how much each vehicle had been driven. The rep, again became defensive and told me to go out side to look at one of the vehicles, to see how well it had been taken care of. The rep, obviously didn't know vehicles as well, as he thought that he did. I proceeded out side, he followed after me. I looked the vehicle over, looked over the high mileage sticker, the year and price tag. (I thought to myself, no way would, I ever consider purchasing this vehicle.) The rep, proceeded to begin arguing with me and insisted that because the exterior of the vehicle was in great condition, the vehicle was an excellent deal. Obviously, this rep, knew little to nothing about cars, electronics, engines, transmissions, bearings, etc... (Anyone who knows about vehicles, who shops for vehicles knows that the higher the mileage on a vehicle, the more repairs that will need to be done to it. An F-150, for example; if really taken care of will last for up to 300,000 miles before it will need to have an engine replace, or a transmission replaced, or major repairs completed.) Again, I was shocked that I needed to educate this novice rep, about how high mileage on a vehicle can really affect the performance and maintenance durability on a vehicle. All, their vehicles, on the lot seemed to have extremely high mileage on them. (The rep. never even showed me the vehicles, that I was interested in, this was the second red flag, for me.) In my opinion, this rep, should consider finding another line of work. Instead of running a hobby business, car dealership for fun and leave selling cars to the professionals, who understand cars and can present their customers with car faxes, when asked for; instead of excuses.

After searching the greater Detroit area and coming up empty handed, I expanded our search. It is then that I found and got connected to Fox Toyota of Cadillac (over 3 hours from where we live). I found that they would be receiving one that met our requirements with exterior color, interior color and options. I reached out to Donavan Simmons a sale associate there to begin communication on the Grand Highlander. I can gladly say that he & the whole dealership made the experience a great one! I expressed to Donavan that we were usual Chrysler customers (my father-in-law worked for them) and my wife had some reservations about the purchase of our first Toyota. I also expressed that I had usually bought cars through a friend where there were NO stereotypical "salesman" tricks. I can say Donavan was able to reassure my wife that this would be a great choice without being pushy or arrogant. He answered all her questions in a way that made her very comfortable. When it came to finalizing the deal there were no "salesman" tricks. I had a vehicle to trade in, and Donavan was able to give me a reasonable price for the vehicle with pictures and providing him some information (mind you we lived over 3 hours away). He also promised that once the vehicle got to him in person, he "should" be able to increase that offer. True to his word he and Fox Toyota increased the trade in value by $500.00. As a former Assistant Customer Service manage with a large grocery chain, I can tell you Donavan and Fox Toyota treated my wife and I exactly how customers should be treated fair, open and honestly. I can recommend Fox Toyota of Cadillac without any reservations!

We purchased a 2008 Taurus three years ago, and it had been through two winters with us. Recently, we took the car in for winter service, but the mechanic refused to fix it. He said that the car's frame had rusted to the point where it couldn't be repaired without replacing the entire frame of the vehicle. I contacted Better Baker in Cadillac, Michigan and spoke with three people in person and over the phone, but they only offered to sell me a new car. After purchasing the vehicle, we encountered several issues with it. The engine light came on soon after we bought it and it cost $1,000 to repair the sensors. Then, the steering went out, which cost us over $500 to fix. Now, the frame has rusted so badly that it needs an entirely new one. The mechanic was kind enough to send us a video of the condition of the vehicle. I am appalled that a dealership could sell a car that was in such obvious distress. This vehicle should never have been sold to the public. It's obvious that they never inspected the vehicle before it was put on the market. When I spoke with someone from the dealership about this issue, they were unprofessional and showed no concern for our situation. Their only solution was to sell us a new car and they wouldn't even accept our old one as a trade-in. I strongly advise against buying a car from Better Baker in Cadillac, Michigan.
