Tried the peanut butter chocolate in a mini size and it was the perfect late afternoon snack. Service Employee let us take our time to look over the many different cupcakes options. She was a joy to speak to, also. Ambiance Place appeared closed when we walked in but the employee ensured us they were open lol. I advise you to get there early because it was slim pickings in the aftermath. Would I go back? Absolutely!

As luck would have it, we celebrated my mother-in-law's 80th birthday with a towering custom cake from IveyCake. And let me tell you. Owner Ivey Childers makes a mean cake! They are literally works of art made by a creative decorator who demands perfection and uses the finest ingredients. The cake is very dense, what our family considers to be the ultimate texture for a cake. The frosting is super thick and very sweet. You can't eat too much at one time, which is probably a good thing. We had hoped for some sort of confirmation email to let us know the cake was finished. So we showed up on faith alone hoping the cake was ready for our celebration, and there it was! Whew! And not only will IveyCake create your beautiful custom cake, but they even sell cupcakes and small cakes on a daily basis in their adorable little shop. Go check them out!

A Nashville staple I somehow didn't know about!…read more I've ordered the quiche from here at work so many times that I honestly thought this was just a bakery. Turns out, I've been missing out! We stopped in one morning specifically to pick up the quiche, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out they actually serve a full breakfast. Naturally, we decided to stay and have breakfast--and I'm so glad we did. The atmosphere is super family-friendly and has that cozy, homey feel you'd expect from a neighborhood bakery. The food was fresh, comforting, and tasted like something you'd get at home. The menu also has plenty of options, so there's something for everyone. Service was excellent! We were seated right away, and our waiter was friendly, attentive, and took the time to explain everything in detail. Parking is another plus--there's plenty available in the plaza. Definitely a Nashville staple that deserves more attention. I came for the quiche and left knowing I need to come back for breakfast!

No problem carrying in a conversation even with people around us. I highly recommend!!!

I ordered one and inhaled it as soon as I got in my car. It's a bittersweet feeling to know that I don't have a Baked on 8th near me, as I would probably spend way too much money there as I ate my way through their menu. By the way, the bakery inside is sort of dark, so they might look closed, but I assure you that they aren't. Service was excellent.

This bakery is not one I would recommend to anyone visiting or locals for that matter…read more We have ordered countless cakes over the last few years as well as pastries from here. I've never thought anything we received was great. But I always want to support local over PE backed chains. First off, I find some of the staff here oddly pretentious- which is crazy given the business they are in. This last time, we ordered a red velvet cake and when I went in to get it- I went up to the register and waited but no one assisted me. The cake was previously ordered and paid for. I finally say I'm there to pick up a cake and they proceeded to tell me I need to "wait in line". They have a pastry case full of items and there was a decent line of people mulling over what they wanted to get that were walk ins. I've never went to a bakery ever, that made people that had pre-paid pickups wait in a walk-in line. The even bigger offense here though, is the cake. It was dry, didn't taste like red velvet and had an unpleasant aftertaste. All 4 of us who had some, said it wasn't good. The rest will be going in the trash. We won't support this place in the future and will steer others away if asked.

I've always wanted to learn how to make macarons but the process seemed intimidating and the cost for classes in my area is high. When my friends proposed this, I couldn't believe the value. We had a hands on class where Heather taught us the best tips and tricks to tackle macarons at home. I left armed with a box of tasty treats (that I made!), detailed recipes, and so many great pieces of general baking advice. My baking has improved already. I would have given Eat the Art 5 stars if my experience had ended with just the class. But now that I have lots of time and nowhere to go, I decided to put my skills to the test. I made macarons at home! Heather is obviously an artist and you will definitely want to do as she says and "eat the art." If you're looking for a girls' weekend activity or something fun for a bachelorette party, you will not regret taking a class at Eat the Art!
